“Needs a proper clean.”

..sofa was full of dog hairs and crumbs... Blinds very dusty... Needs cleaning properly No mattress protector... Toaster wants replacing Everything else was good Would give it a 10 if it was cleaned properly

I am really sorry that Edgemere Retreat wasn't up to the standard that we expect and strive for. If this had been brought to our attention during the stay we would have arranged for our cleaners to revisit and resolve the issue. “Fantastic location and spacious, comfortable accommodation with plenty of parking and a secure garden for dogs.”

Highly recommend it for local walks and a good base to explore the southern lakes area. Cartmel village is a delight if you like to eat/drink out as there's plenty of places to choose from. The kitchen is very well equipped, the only things we were missing was a smaller pan and a small dish/bowl for the microwave, most of the cookware was sized for larger meals rather than a light supper (not a criticism! We all have different ways of doing things). Bedrooms and bathrooms were great.

“This property is lovely however it was let down by the cleanliness.”

The dishwasher was still full upon arrival and had an awful smell that meant we needed to keep the door open to air the house when we first arrived. We later found chocolate wrappers on the floor by the side of the bed and that the toilet had not been cleaned properly. There were also a number of spiderwebs with flies wrapped in them in obvious places upon arrival which suggested they hadn’t been touched. That said, the property is absolutely lovely and we had a brilliant time. The beds were comfy, it was a home from home stay.
