A most enjoyable stay in a well-maintained and comfortable cottage.

Wonderful cottage, like home from home!

Jams, milk, tea, coffee & biscuits, a welcome surprise after a long journey. A call from the owner the evening of arrival to check all was OK. Sky TV and internet a great bonus, to be able to chill on the comfy sofa after a day out exploring was lush. Property is tastefully decorated & had all that we needed, we even did a few bbqs ! Very quiet and peaceful area. The next door neighbours were lovely.

A lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and great attention to detail, having washing up liquid, soap and even oil to cook breakfast with and tea bags, all the things you don’t always think about.

The cottage is in a great location off the A66 and with a lovely pub/restaurant nearby. We would definitely consider booking again. Thank you

We had a lovely stay at Bella Cottage.

However the settee in the living room is not comfy as it is too low .my husband has recently had knee surgery and really struggled getting up from it as did I. Maybe it should be replaced Everything thing else was great

So peaceful. Cottage is wonderful all that was needed was there.

Short of somewhere to plug in toothbrushes and shaver and sun beds would be good as it’s in a quiet area.

It has everything else that you need and is very clean and well maintained. Had a lovely stay

great bathroom with excellent shower.nice bedrooms with comfy beds. Excellent tv with sky & netflix .very quiet location in lovely village with friendly pub .the park was great for the dog to run around . We had a very enjoyable week only let down was the weather.

At first sight the property creates a good impression.

It is well decorated and very clean although there was a strong smell of dog in the lounge which we found to be very unpleasant. Unfortunately the cottage is completely unsuitable for elderly visitors and I will explain why I have arrived at this conclusion. The sofa is unusable as it is too low and has no back support. My wife was unable to extricate herself from its grip without assistance from me. The only practical solution was to move the dining room chairs into the lounge but they are uncomfortable when used for extended periods. While on the subject of the lounge there is a very serious trip hazard in that the broadband hub and trailing wires are located in a narrow corridor between the sofa and the wall. Also the television is far too large for the size of the lounge to the point where it is impossible to view the whole image. With regard to equipment there is no non-slip mat for the bath/shower which made using the shower very dangerous with a high risk of slipping. Also there is no shaver/toothbrush charging point in the bathroom and we were unable to find an adapter plug so we had to buy one. In conclusion our stay was very uncomfortable and we would not stay here again

Had a lovely break.

The cottage is a good standard with a lovely kitchen and bathroom by our standards. TV in two of the three bedrooms (kids rooms) with Sky TV was nice unexpected addition and served us well. Its a very peaceful location which is great for the adults but a little TV time for the kids was useful. We never used the log fire due to the time of year but it would be very cosy during a winter break. The local pub is walking distance and the staff were extremely welcoming and polite. Very attentive to our needs and the burgers were gorgeous. The cottage owner sent us a nice message during our stay to enquire that everything was in order and to contact her if we needed anything. Another nice touch in my opinion. If you are looking for a quiet getaway which is a good standard home from home then I highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage in lovely location.

Cottage well equipped and very comfortable - owner should be very proud. A couple of little points - a clock might be useful as no time on cooker. A squeegee for the shower/bath/tiles needed for the bathroom. It would have been nice if the grass had been cut for our arrival and the garden furniture cleaned. But overall an excellent stay in a wonderful property, would definitely recommend and return for another stay. Thank you.

Really nice cottage, and we enjoyed our stay.

It was warm and cosy. Our one criticism is that the kitchen only had one sharp knife which seemed inadequate when cooking for a family. Also an extra serving bowl/ oven dish would have been useful.

The cottage had everything we needed and the teenagers were very happy with access to WiFi and tvs in rooms. Great location to visit the lakes. We had a really lovely break.

Fantastic property.

Spotlessly clean and super modern with a stunning kitchen. Comfortable beds and a great sofa. Maybe it could do with a few mirrors, the only one is in the bathroom.

A home from home!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bella Cottage. It is in a lovely quiet little village, the cottage is beautifully renovated, spotlessly clean, feels super cosy and has everything you need, and an amazing bath! Such a treat to stay here, and wonderful value for money too. We were less than an hour from areas in the Lakes we wanted to visit (Ullswater, Haweswater), which was ideal. Charlene provided some welcome treats on our arrival and checked-in with us during our stay to make sure everything was OK. We would definitely recommend a stay here!

The cottage is lovely and homely with everything you could need whilst you are away. The place was extremely clean and inviting. The owners were accommodating and checked in to see if we needed anything. We would definitely book to stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful cottage and exceptional decor!

Very clean and cosy. Wonderful facilities including the luxury of a full sky package and log burner (enjoyed the roll top bath and complete kitchen too). Lovely quiet area, nice and peaceful. Local to lots of places available to visit - we chose Aira Force Waterfalls for a morning walk with our little pooch and it was a great choice. We would plan a longer stay than 2 nights next time and explore further. Mid-stay check in was appreciated by Charlene. Thank you ☺️ see you again soon X

Lovely cottage with very good kitchen and accessories.

First class bedding and towels. Only problem was very uncomfortable seating in lounge. Found to be very low and difficult to get up from.

..comfy bed and great shower. We had lovely chilled break. However the sofa was comfortable but very low so for some would be very difficult to get up from. The Reed diffusers everywhere were very overpowering too.

Lovely cottage,very clean and well equipped.

Our one complaint was the sofa in the lounge it was far to large for the room and the most uncomfortable sofa we have ever sat on ,also no coffee or side table to put anything on. We enjoyed our week at Bella cottage but unfortunately on the Tuesday the power went off at 9.15am and didn’t come back on until 6.15 pm this was prearranged ,but the cleaners didn’t leave us the information so we were unprepared. I did leave a voice mail for Mrs Carter the owner but she never got back to me which I found to be quite rude.

The 2 previous guests had commented in the visitors book on the smell from the shower.

There is obviously a problem with the drain from the bath tub which hasn’t been addressed. The bath tub is not designed/reinforced for a shower overhead and the area you stand in is very “bouncy” leaving you feeling like you’re on a fairground ride! I would not be happy for an overweight/older person to use. Aside from this, the cottage is lovely, exceptionally clean, well equipped and a good base for exploring the area. The smart TV and Sky were an added bonus. It would have been handy to have had more information on activities/walks nearby as we have usually had in previous holiday cottages.

Really enjoyed our holiday at Bella Cottage, it's a beautiful cottage furnished to a very high standard.

Based in a lovely village where the locals are very friendly. We only had a couple of very small issues, one was when the grass was cut there was alot of cut grass left on the lawn which got walked into the cottage from the dogs feet & ours (needless to say we did hoover up before we left) and the other issue was the shower. However we would definitely stay at Bella Cottage again.

Bella Cottage was a beautiful little cottage, there was everything there that you could use.

The biscuits and milk were a lovely little welcome and just what was needed after a long drive. It was immaculately clean and we made sure we left it that way as we left. It did go a little cool in the evenings and we didn’t want to start messing with the heating and didn’t take any wood for the fire as there was nowhere that tells you to take some with you. Luckily we had a few blankets with us. Bolton In Appleby is a beautiful peaceful place and we will back again soon.

Lovely stay , bins a little confusing as they were put out at the given dates but never collected , other than that can't fault the cottage or the host .

Great cottage in a peaceful and picturesque location.

Modern but cosy and very clean. Sky TV a great added extra for over the New Year week. Off road parking and a good sized rear garden. We didn't bring the dog but garden is secure for a dog. Cottage easily accessible by car, with Appleby-in-Westmorland and Penrith a short drive away. Lovely stay hope to book again.

We had a lovely week long stay over Christmas.

The cottage was beautiful and very clean when we arrived. I have been trying to contact the owners regarding an item I have left behind using the sykes app but cannot seem to do this

Bella cottage was wonderful, it was clean and well equipped with everything we needed, the garden was contained and safe for our dog.

The bed was so comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend Bella cottage, it was an ideal location, very peaceful and quiet.

Bolton is a lovely village and we enjoyed a nice meal at the local pub. We were grateful for the welcome pack which included tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and jams - this was a really nice touch. The cottage was really well equipped with good parking and an enclosed garden (great for our dog) we would highly recommend Bella Cottage.

Would have been good to know the location of the key box prior to arrival.

We had to hunt for it, glad it was still daylight. The heating thermostat appears to be faulty. Shower located in roll-top bath isn't user friendly to tall people. Bath drain emits an unhealthy smell. Sofa is too big for the room and too deep to sit on easily. Misleading when description says all fuel included and yet omits the need to provide own wood for burner.

Lovely cottage, in a stunning part of the country, easy reach of towns and lakes with some lovely walks around the village.

The cottage is well furnished and comfortable with a perfectly equipped kitchen should you wish to eat in and some lovely pubs nearby if you don't. Also if you can't find something the owner was very happy to help when called, fantastic.

A very nice property in a lovely setting.

The furniture in sitting room was a bit awkward to sit on with it being rather too deep to sit on for elderly people. Would recommend to anyone otherwise.
