Located in the heart of Bowness-On-Windermere, Craig Cottage is a stylish Victorian home that is the ideal base for friends and families to explore the Lake District all year round.

The beautifully renovated cottage is spread over two floors including a spacious kitchen / dining room, comfortable lounge with woodburning stove, two king size bedrooms, bunk room and bathroom with underfloor heating.

Outside, guests can relax in the south facing garden, and park conveniently in the private parking space.

Craig Cottage is just a few minutes walk from the restaurants, cafes and bars of Bowness and is within easy reach of Lake Windermere.

Accommodation in detail: Arriving at the property, a private parking space greets you before making your way down the stone steps and into the hallway to hang your coats and kick off your shoes.

Step into the lounge, beautifully presented and boasting a Smart TV, you can look forward to settling in after an adventurous day.

Beyond here, the kitchen / dining room provides a homely and practical setting for your family meals at the dining table; whip up a delicious meal for your group on the electric hob and oven, before taking full advantage of the dishwasher when it is time to tidy up.

Head out to explore the abundance of trails and terrains in the area; just a short drive from the cottage is Stock Ghyll Force a glorious 70ft cascading waterfall, awaiting your discovery.

If tranquil walks are more your style, Holehird Gardens are within easy reach and boast a delightful array of flora.

Branching further afield, the thriving town of Ambleside is reachable by car and home to plenty more walking and cycling routes to uptake, before stopping at one of the many pubs or restaurants and heading back to the cottage.

Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away.
