“The property itself was absolutely perfect - really couldn’t have asked for a better location, facilities, comfort and the like.”

It was a brilliant week and we were blessed with the weather which meant lots of dinners outside. The house was missing nothing in terms of utensils, blankets, amble cutlery and plates. Our only question mark was relating to some of the essentials we thought would have been included; for example, there was no washing up liquid, but a sponge was provided. Similarly the coffee machine was there, but there weren’t any pods. We’d also taken some of our own towels from home which was handy ...

We’d also taken some of our own towels from home which was handy otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to use the hot tub nearly as much! Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful time and the beautiful house you’ve built was perfect for us. Our pooches settled in so quickly and all the dog-friendly recommendations were greatly appreciated. We were in town with family who stayed the other side of Bowness and Fellside Lodge quickly became the place we wanted to spend our time over their accommodation. It is a brilliant home! Thank you for having us.

The property

Fellside Lodge is a delightful, semi-detached cottage situated on the edge of Bowness-on-Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District. Boasting three floors of wonderful living, this homely abode is a great choice for families or groups of friends seeking exploration of this magnificent National Park. After parking up in the off-road parking space, step inside through the porch, before finding the bright and airy sitting room, complete with two plush sofas, a Smart TV and a woodburning stove, creating a cosy ambiance for unwinding. The chef of the group can get to work in the kitchen, housing a range of appliances including a double gas oven and hob, American-style fridge/freezer and dishwasher, while the utility room offers a washing machine and tumble dryer, ensuring you are well-equipped. Serve home-cooked meals at the dining table, popping open a bottle of wine and enjoying the company of each other as the woodburning stove offers a gentle warmth. Stairs from the sitting room leads to a lower-ground-floor bedroom, home to a king-size bed alongside a beautiful freestanding bath, providing a lovely spot for a lazy soak, while there is also an en-suite shower. The other bedrooms can be found on the first-floor, including a super-king-size which can be arranged as a twin to allow for flexible sleeping arrangements, and a king-size which benefits from a lavish en-suite shower room. Both rooms are complimented with wooden features and thoughtful decorations, and they are served by a spacious bathroom. All bedrooms include a professional standard hairdryer. To the exterior of Fellside Lodge is an enclosed patio where you can dine alfresco style on a balmy summer evening. Recently installed for 2022 a new 6 seater hot tub for guest to enjoy. There is also a garage where bikes, canoes or outdoor equipment can be stored. When you’re ready to explore, stroll into the centre of Bowness to find a plethora of superb bars and restaurants, cosy pubs and ice cream shops, along with fascinating attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter and the Windermere Jetty Museum, where you can learn about the history of the lakes. Lace up your walking boots and head off on foot to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District, offering many walking, cycling and hiking routes, passing through open moorland, towering fells and beautiful stretches of water; avid outdoor adventurers can tackle the challenging climb to the summit of Scafell Pike, the tallest mountain in England. Venture into the town of Kendal, where you can browse the many boutique and high-street stores in search of a gift, as well as local attractions such as Kendal Museum.
