Amazing property - we can 100% recommend, especially for dog owners!

! So much to do and see on the doorstep that we barely used the car.

We stayed at Fellside with our two grown up children and their partners, and had a great week enjoying Bowness and the surrounding area.

The cottage is conveniently situated a short walk away from the town and was a comfortable, spacious and welcome retreat after a hard day of sight-seeing. The provision of two parking space was especially useful. The interior is thoughtfully decorated and furnished to a high standard, and although we did not bring a dog, we enjoyed the dog theme to the cottage. The hot tub outside was superb and well maintained. Would we come back again if there were 6 of us? Yes, definitely!

We had a fabulous weekend at Fellside Lodge for my husband’s 60th birthday.

This is a beautifully furnished property with plenty of space for ourselves and our two grown up children along with our little Westie! Ideal for walking into Bowness and fell walks which can be done from the lodge. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay here again if returning to Bowness.

Great location, only a short walk into the town.

Lots of pubs and restaurants in the area. The accommodation is great, roomy and clean. Could do with a full length mirror in property. The oven needed I clean inside too but this was the only negative because it was a lovely place. My daughter and partner thought the jacuzzi was great and we had lots of throws for the sofas so the dog could sit with us. Great place!

It was our second visit to Fellside Lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Perfect for our needs and the hot tub is great after a days walking. We requested for one of the beds to be split into two singles but this was not carried out. After contacting Lakelovers, this issue was rectified immediately. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Fellside, but the back yard could do with looking at.

It would be better if there was a grass area for the dogs, the smell of urine was quite bad with the heat, the trees need cutting back to let some natural light in. We like to sit outside when it’s nice but unfortunately we weren’t able to do so due to the lack of no light getting through the trees.(it was dark and dingy).

Excellent location for visiting the area.

Short walk into Bowness so no need to use the car. Beatrix Potter exhibition easy to get to and well enjoyed by the children. Accommodation ideal for us all. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

We are just back from a family holiday of 3 generations.

The house is fabulous and the owners have thought of everything to make the stay so comfortable and very stylish. The house is spread out on different levels so everyone had plenty of space. The garden is well enclosed for the dog and toddler to run about. I would highly recommend staying in this property and hope to be back again.

Just had another lovely week in this beautiful cottage.

It is conveniently placed up a small hill from the town and has everything you need for a break away including for your dogs. This was our third time here and will definately be going back for a fourth.

The cottage is gorgeous has everything you could possibly need.

Super clean and amazingly comfortable beds. Only drawback as pointed out previously is that there is no grassed area at the house for dogs and the entrance is immediately onto a busy road which i hadnt realised from the description. Only a short walk into Bowness and overall we loved the house and all its facilities thank you.

We had a lovely family stay over the easter weekend at Fellside, 3 adults, 2 teens and 2 dogs.

The cottage is lovely, perfect size, plenty of space for us all and lovely bedrooms and home furnishings. Everything you could need is there and so many games, we had great fun trying different ones, and we just loved that there was a lovely doggy theme running through the cottage! The doggies were spoilt too with lovely blankets & towels just for them, and the dog wash station - super helpful to have a supply of towels if you forget something or have a wet week! Location was perfect for Bowness, a 10 minute walk down albeit a steep hill so worth bearing in mind for any members who may struggle with that, however near enough to drop down in the car and pop back up to park if needed. We discovered our dogs won't toilet unless they have grass so that was a learning curve for them with the patio but they managed it :) We couldn't fault Fellside, a super lovely staff - thank you. (Just one note for the property owner is, the windows had been left on the latches in the bedroom off the lounge. We arrived alter in the day so didn't think to check and assumed it was just a really noisy road. I realised as we left the property the following morning and noticed from the outside so that first night was super noisy but i equally should have checked. sorted once i realised and closed them all the next night but may be worth mentioning to the cleaner or a note for other guests to check if they find the same).

A lovely place to stay.

My daughter thought it should be highlighted that the garden has no grass - her dogs prefer a grass space and it was a short walk away to find a suitable area. Also, it could be helpful to mention the steepish climb from the town - my husband is in his 80s and needed us to take the car down to town to bring him back up the hill. But, overall, it was great, and the hot tub and log burners were particular delights!

Really really impressed with everything about Fellside Lodge.

Extremely clean and absolutely everything you could possibly want was provided. Often when we stay in cottages the kitchen equipment is basic - the opposite was true here. Couldn’t have asked for more. Was perfect for 3 generation family and 4 dogs. Would love to visit again, and will thoroughly recommend to others.

Everything went well from booking to enjoying our stay, highly delighted with everything.

The accommodation was beautifully presented, immaculately clean with lots of everything like towels, kitchen utensils and equipment etc. As always the hot tub was the star of the show - well used over the weekend. Located an easy 10 minute walk from the centre it was very handy to escape to and relax after enjoying the facilities at the Lake.

Absolutely perfect for a weekend away - it was immaculate, well-maintained, and had a really lovely welcoming feel.

Everything was thought about and it realy seemed like it had dogs at heart, which is so refreshing for these types of accommodations. We made the most of everything the home had to offer and look forward to coming back!

Went for my husbands 60th with my family had a fantastic time great location & everything you needed in the lodge .

The only think I would say is when it rains be careful of the floor around the hot tub as it was very slippery. Certainly would book again .

Fabulous comfortable and spacious cottage for families with dogs, close to everything in Bowness.

Thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a great break in the Lakes, lots of good books, puzzles and games and lots of dog towels, throws, bowls, treats and walking guides. Lots of places to dry coats, boots and dogs. Loved the dog wash in the basement. Wonderful location, we parked our cars on arrival and used the local bus and boat services to get around to our walking areas. Just a 10 minute walk along a well lit pavement into bowness. Would have no hesitation in booking again.

What a lovely cottage.

Excellent location with a 10 minute walk into Bowness. Extremely clean and very well furnished and made use of the doggy bath for my Jack Russell. Secure in the back garden which is important as a dog owner and despite being semi-detached the garden private and not overlooked. Bed very comfortable and bedrooms well appointed. Very quiet both day and night despite near to Kendal Road. Highly recommend for a perfect break and will book again.

Excellently appointed and very comfortable.

Extremely dog friendly and spacious. Gutters need clearing as they over-flowed especially over the fibreglass kitchen bay window which was noisy. Radiators need bleeding too but only mention these as minor maintenance tweaks as everything else was perfect.

Absolutely fabulous cottage, it has every possible thing you need for time in The Lakes, we loved the well stocked bookcase and selection of games, our only regret is that we were only there three days.

More should be made of the fact that it’s only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Bowness along well lit pavements, a nice change from walking in the gutter on pitch black lanes! We will be back.

Beautifully furnished and well equipped Cottage in a fantastic location.

Plenty of room for four adults and two children. We all wished we could have stayed longer! We hope to return at some point soon

Wow what a fabulous cottage, everything you need for a home from home stay with nothing missed!

Massive plus having the dog area in the basement which is ideal for wet days and pampering your pet whilst away. Only downfall is the stairs into the kitchen…. Could do with a carpet as our dogs were very wary as they were steep and slippy so we had to assist them into the kitchen area at all times. But on the whole our whole family loved the stay and most would definitely recommend and book again next year! Thank you for helping to make some special memories, it was magical.

Fantastic property which is a credit to the owners.

We had everything we needed for our stay and wanted for nothing. The location was excellent and only a short stroll into Bowness. After a day out walking, the whole family loved the hot tub....especially myself with my bad knees! Our Weimaraner has never been so clean. The dog wash facility was outstanding, especially the doggy dryer. We would recommend this property to anyone without hesitation and will hopefully be back next year. Many thanks.

Fellside is the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed, which makes for a very relaxing holiday.

The location is perfect as a base for exploring the lakes, and the hot tub is a welcome relaxation after a day hiking. The lodge is only a short walk to the town for an evening drink. We will definitely be back as we have a lot more exploring to do.

clean and tidy and the dog theme was so cute! can tell the owners care a lot about the place!

This was the first family holiday that we have had in a long time.

On top of that it was the first holiday for our four dogs and I can honestly say we booked the best place for everyone and one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. When we arrived the lodge was absolutely stunning, the pictures that are on the advert are exactly what it is like in person. All the rooms are very spacious, the beds were comfy, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you could ask for. Plenty of pans, utensils, cutlery and crockery. The dog shower/bath is great and we’ve all come away wanting one at our homes. The owners have plenty of dog towels/covers that are free to use. The outside space is great, plenty of seating, a BBQ to use and the best thing of all… a hot tub which was great to relax at the end of a day exploring. Its location is very easy to find by car and it’s only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Bowness-On-Windermere which is great. Far enough away to not hear the busy centre but not too far to walk. We have already been looking at rebooking for next year and I can say for certain that we will be returning in the near future. Would highly recommend to anyone that is wanting a holiday with their four legged friends.

We had a superb week in Fellside Lodge, 6 adults, one toddler and 4 dogs!

Kitchen excellently equipped. Lucky with weather and able to use the bbq, although unable to find any bbq tools! We were aware that there were stairs but we had to be extra vigilant with our grandson particularly between dining room and kitchen. Dogs made use of the dog bath. All in all an excellent property, we would hope to return.

The cottage is so picturesque and full of charm and character with nice modern touches and attention to detail throughout. The dog wash and hot tub were great touches. It’s perfectly positioned and just a 5 minute stroll into bustling Bowness. A slight issue after our stay was handled promptly and professionally by both the property owner and Karen from Sykes customer services. We look forward to visiting again and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Fellside Lodge.

Would very happily recommend this cottage to anyone but particularly those with dogs.

The owners have created a very warm and welcoming space. The bedrooms are very comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped and the living spaces are perfect. It was beautifully clean and the hot tub is a lovely treat to enjoy after being out in the fresh air. Loved it.

Lovely cottage.

There was a time when logs were provided at a small cost. Now it’s source your own? Not a fan of the leather sofas in the living room as the room was always a bit cold and they felt chilly. Some bits and pieces needed a bit of maintenance. Lovely cottage though. Short walk into town. Fabulous jacuzzi. Big enough for four adults. Nice bedroom downstairs so my daughter and her boyfriend had privacy. Very well equipped kitchen for cooking. Totally brilliant dog washing facilities in the basement. Although watch out for the very hairy stairs that are very deep indeed. The agent rectified a couple of small things that needed attention on arrival. We would definitely go back. Very satisfied.

Arrived later in the day due to the weather but the cottage lifted our spirits immediately.

The layout and the standard of the property helped make our long weekend very enjoyable. Good base from which to get around and make the most of the Lakeland scenery.

I am not a fan of publishing negative feedback when issues remain unresolved, however given the time frame passed since our stay and lack of meaningful update from Sykes I feel I have been left with no choice.

We chose to stay over the Christmas period for a week. Indeed this was the first time that we have ever stayed away from home over Christmas. Positives: communication prior to stay, initial impressions of the cottage, amenities, lovely welcome pack and level of dog friendliness of the accommodation, which aside from some of the steps (mainly the uncovered ones from the dining area to the kitchen which one of my dogs had real difficulties with) really is unrivalled over anywhere else we have stayed. Negatives: upon arrival we noted a completely loose kitchen plinth laying on the floor, a leaking downstairs ensuite radiator and that Sky was not working on either Smart TV. I reported these issues on that first evening via the Sykes app. Non of these issues were an emergency so did not warrant a call to the emergency number provided, and I assumed Sykes would be in contact the next day. This however did not happen despite me contacting them on numerous occasions via the same message thread chasing an update and being mindful that given our stay included both Christmas day and Boxing day there was a good chance that staffing would be at a minimum. Cleanliness - whilst the cottage was generally clean, by the first morning my dad reported to me having to clean the upstairs shower tray due to it being blocked with hair and other detritus that would have caused it to overflow if left unattended. Oven - on Christmas day we were cooking a full meal and as such used both gas ovens. The oven to the right kept going out while we were trying to cook, leading to us having to swap items around to ensure everything was cooked properly and a delay in our meal. Outdoor area - there is a real lack of lighting on the courtyard particularly by the two steps leading down to the back gate. There are signs that the slabs become slippy when wet, however treatment of the green algae will assist significantly with minimising this. There are also signs for hot tub maintainence, however to our knowledge it was only attended to once during our stay. Sky TV - neither Sky Box worked for the duration of the stay. The box in the living room was constantly whirring, and simply did not work. Luckily the TV's are Smart and we could log into Netflix and Prime, however if you do not have these accounts then watching the TV is going to be difficult. It's a facility that simply shouldn't be advertised if they consistently don't work (noted issue on another review). It was Christmas week, and clearly we wanted to watch films/festive programmes during our stay. If some of these issues with the boxes are down to lack of system updates these should be checked as part of the cottage reset prior to new customers staying. Sykes response - I finally received a reply on the last full day of my holiday. No apology, basically blaming me for not making contact via phone, as apparently phone calls were being prioritised over the festive period. If this was true, then it should have been published on the website / auto reply. Since my return I have had to chase for updates; any person I have spoken to seems fairly uninterested in the issues raised, and no meaningful apology has been offered over the seemingly standard £50 refund and send some photos of the issues (of a non working oven, and a non working Sky box!). I have also been made aware of a recent BBC consumer affairs programme which highlighted similar bad customer experiences. So to summarise, with better maintaince the cottage would be amazing, however I would not choose to book any future holidays with Sykes.

It is a beautiful cottage and was very warm and comfortable.

It’s in a great location and we all loved the hot tub.I particularly loved the free standing bath in my bedroom. Dogs enjoyed many walks and the log fires. We all agreed that we’d love to return to the area and would choose fellside lodge as the perfect holiday accommodation.

We loved the cottage which was beautifully decorated with lots of doggy pictures and accessories, books and games available to use. There are a few steps to some of the rooms. The cellar was a great place to clean the dog after muddy walks easily accessible from the back door. We all loved relaxing in the hot tub. We would love to return again. Thank you.

Fellside Lodge was such a cosy place to stay.

The kitchen/dining area was so sociable - we loved it. Cosy little reading room and beautiful log fires. Beds were very comfortable. All baby items were very high quality and even had brand new packaged sheets if we wanted to use them. The dog facilities were amazing. It was a perfect weekend, despite the weather

A lovely cottage that has been beautifully renovated to a high standard.

It is located up a hill just a short walk to the centre of Bowness however still feels quiet and private. There are shops, bars and restaurants within easy reach. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you would need if you choose to cook. The three lovely bedrooms are all a good size with comfortable beds, 2 with en-suites and one main bathroom. In the snug there is an interesting selection of books and games. I loved the large utility room and had been excited about using the doggy bath, however there is no way I could have got my old dog down the steep steps. The outdoor space is safe and securely enclosed. The hot/cold outdoor doggy shower was useful. We have one at home but was a first for us in a rental property. The hot tub was the hit of our stay and we were in it each evening. Just be aware that there are a lot of steps in this property and if you have an older dog they may struggle with the Amtico flooring. Having said that it is by far the most doggy friendly place we have stayed.

Where do I start!

My hubby and 2 adult children with partners stayed for 3 nights last weekend. I truly didn’t want to leave! It’s the first time we’ve take the kids back to the lakes since they were much younger. The property was so much more than we imagined. Kitchen was amazing, we were doing a come dine with me and were amazed at everything provided, incredible! Downstairs living areas were so comfortable, log burners very welcome. Bedrooms and bathrooms were incredible, we felt as if we were in a 5⭐️ hotel. Beds incredibly comfortable. Downstairs utility with washer and dryer plus dog washing, which we didn’t actually need to use these but very well equipped. Outside area lovely and secluded, hot tub accommodated all of us comfortably. Just 10 minutes walk from the centre made it a perfect base to walk to or visit surrounding areas. I would definitely recommend this property!

We had a fantastic week with four adults and four dogs!

The house was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need for your stay there! We all absolutely loved the house and the hot tub was amazing. Bowness town centre was just a short walk down the hill and we had a couple of great nights in the Arts Bar. We had such a great time and the house was a home from home it was brilliant so much so we have booked to go there again in May 2025

Fantastic place.

6 adults, 2 infants & 2 small dogs, ample space and comfort. Amenities are endless. Having access to the garage to store our roof box and bars in for the week was brilliant. Literally a home from home, none of the family wanted to leave and we are already looking at returning next year hopefully!

The most beautiful lodge, plenty of space and perfectly situated to enable you to walk into town.

Everything provided and lots of it - kitchen well stocked with utensils/ plates/ glasses etc which was refreshing. BBQ wasn't cleaned out from previous renters though so had to scrub to be able to use it but that was only a small negative. Totally catered for dogs! Which we loved.Dog walking book in the lodge was a godsend thank you. Didn’t use dog facilities in the cellar as our dog has bad hips so was too steep for him but washed him outside with hose/ tap supplied. Definitely recommend this beautiful place - felt very much like home from home so settled immediately.

I stayed at Fellside Lodge with my family and their dog.

It was perfect for all of us. We all enjoyed the hot tub. It was clean and tidy with lots of space for us all. The kitchen cupboards had ample appliances, mugs and glasses etc and all was of an excellent quality. It’s a beautiful house and right near the pubs shops and lake. We had lovely walks near by. I would thoroughly recommend it. Thank you.

We had a bad time as our dog had a leg injury, we tried to change date but you would not allow us too.

We could not find the walk that was in the notes. As the dog could not walk, we had to drive down to the lake every morning, very early for the dog to do his business. He would not go into the patio area. I also thought it smelled of dog urine.The cottage was lovely and would recommend, I don't think its suitable for dogs re garden area. We only stayed for 4 nights as worried about our dog.

This cottage was perfect for our stay on our family break with our dog.

The description was accurate and the location was superb for walking into Bowness. The Hot tub was great for some family time without phones and the dog wash was a huge bonus. There are a lot of steps, in this property and different levels, but we loved it. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the lakes. Perfectly located cottage with everything we needed for a great stay.

Never been in a self catering with so many mugs and glasses. Super dog friendly with a great layout. Thanks for sharing your beautiful house. Lots of good walks, good food and hot tub time for the teenagers. Only minor thoughts would be - a pizza cutter would be useful and the steps to the hot tub are very wobbly.

Excellent accommodation for a family of 6.

Facilities were very good. Location ideal for both Windermere and Lake District generally. Would definitely recommend and will probably return ourselves in near future. Couple of maintenance issues (note left in property), and property in need of redecoration now, but did not detract from our enjoyment and ambience. Hot tub big hit. Property description possibly needs to make clear that there are a lot of steps inside and outside.

Everything we needed for a Christmas break with family. Bowness a very manageable walk away. We like to find new places to visit and rarely stay in a cottage twice. I might make an exception with Fellside Lodge. Already found myself browsing next years availability! Thanks

Absolutely stunning property and was fitted out with everything we could imagine.

Loved the dog-benefitting-friendly rules and would certainly return. Even closer to the centre than we imagined making our stay even better. Can’t fault it one bit & have recommended to all friends and family. Thank you!

This was an amazing cottage, we all loved how homely and quirky it was.

We could not have asked for a more cosy place to stay for a weekend with friends. A short walk to local bars and shops, the hot tub was amazing and I love how much the owner loves animals. We loved it so much we have booked for next year. A 12 pm check out would be better :)

Fellside Lodge was like a home from home for us during our stay in Bowness on Windermere.

The location was brilliant as the cottage is a stones throw from the centre of town but also tucked away up a little street so not noisy at night etc. The property itself was lovely, very cosy and well well equipped. It is a really beautiful cottage and I would definitely stay there again. Clare, the owner, clearly loves dogs as there is everything you need and more at the property, for example dog bowls, dog shampoo etc etc. Sykes Cottages were also very good in terms of communication and instructions for keys etc. I would rent a holiday cottage from Sykes again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Fellside Lodge it is such a beautiful property with everything we could have wanted.

The location is fantastic just a 5/10 minute walk into central bowness. We would highly recommend Fellside Lodge. Our only disappointment now on returning home is that we simply cannot afford to go again next year, we immediately went online to book again but the price rise for the same time next year is just too much.

Loved every minute, not a bad word to say! Large spacious cottage! Dogs well equipped for and even it being a doggy friendly cottage would would never know it’s spotless. Had a super sunny week and still used the hottub. Will definitely be booking again.

We had a lovely stay at Fellside Lodge, we loved the supply of maps and books which ment we didn't have to buy any to find walks we wanted to do, kitchen was well equipped with a big fridge freezer this helped as we feed our dogs a raw based diet so we where able to keep it all fresh/frozen, the BBQ, hot tube and dog bath was an added nice touch, lots of towls blankets and dog bowls which was also nice the owners have said they have been renevating it so a couple of wear and tear bits like kitchen cubored ect but you expect that in a rented hoilday home, loved all the mugs as we love drinking tea, and the attention to detail on what the owners have already done to the cottage, We loved the lay out of this cottage, being a family of 4 and a couple without children we where able to seperate the family upstairs in the two bedrooms and couple downstairs which worked really well, very dog friendly cottage with dogs being able to stay in the rooms, a pet hate of mine is dogs only alowed in kitchen/living area, as i feel this can make it worse when their in a new enviroment even though mine are normally in the kitchen at home, so to be able to have them sleep in the room at least for the first night so they know they are safe was an added bonus, only thing i always say is we took our dogs with us everywhere but we did some extreame climbs and the dogs where exhusted, so would have been nice towards the end of our stay if we could left them for an hour of two if we new they where settled and ok, why we went for dinner, but we took them instead as it states not to leave them in the cottage unattended, ours are pretty good once they get settled after day 3 as we stay in many cottages and most have this rule but sometimes we like dinner without them, so that may have been better for them to catch up on sleep but we equally understand the rule and why its in place.

So really only downside was that skyes contated us mid week of our stay to say we are being charged for dog mess in the garden, however we didnt pick up the message until 6pm once we came down from the mountines, and I was incredible diaspointed that evening after having a nice day, we sat down for dinner to then read and recive an email and a voice message to state this, and I was equally upset as we are always quite respectful where we stay and always clean up after our stays and equally our dogs wouldn't go to the toilet at the cottage at all and we found we had to walk them down the road to get them to do a wee, so this suprised us, but I couldn't call to find out what acturlly has happened or what we had done until the morning as they where then closed, then in the morning I contacted skyes and it was an error from head office, and we where contacted instead of someone else by accident, however I was worrying all night that we had upset the owners in someway as I'm a worrier. Accidents happen, just put a bit of a downer on our lovely day that's all. we loved that the owners had irish setters and possibly show at crufts, as I've started to show my golden retriver, so its lovely to see the breed around the house but also we love the setters. Overall thank you for a lovely stay we had gorgeous weather and our first time in the lakes celebrating a wedding anniversary and my Birthday!, its absolutely beautiful, with a lovely cottage to come back to, so thank you. X

We had a wonderful family holiday at this pet friendly holiday cottage.

Everything that you could think of was thought of. The decoration of the property was beautiful. We particularly loved the book selection on the bookshelf. The bedrooms were very comfortable (beds were outstanding) clean and airy. The bathrooms were very clean. The only thing that was a little bit of a problem was that only half of the very large oven was working, however, managed to get round this. It was so wonderful to stay at a holiday property and feel completely relaxed with our pets. When we return to the lakes, we will be coming back and recommending this lovely home to friends and family.

Had a brilliant stay at Fellside Lodge.

Beautiful home, mostly everything you need provided. Very dog friendly- water bowls, dog towels, dog blankets provided. Dog shower down in cellar was also super helpful. A was the washer and drier. Beds lovely- little soft for us but still very comfortable. The tub in the bedroom was amazing and hottub very nice. Nice secure garden for the dogs too. Lots of lovely local walks and amazing walks a little further - highly recommend cat bells and Rydal/Grasmere water walks. Few bits missing that would be nice- coffee pods for machine provided, maybe a couple of laundry detergent tabs to be used also, we were a little confused by recycling at the property (didn't seem to have a separate bin?). Window in upstairs bathroom wouldn't open and the towel rail downstairs in the bedroom with bath tub was loose. But nothing that took away from the brilliant stay. Would happily come back, so hard to find somewhere willing to take 4 dogs that is super lovely.

Lovely cottage would stay again

This is a lovely property in a great position.

It was a little disappointing not being able to use the hot tub when we arrived at 5 o’clock on the Friday. This was due to the water in the hot tub being changed that day, which we understood was the norm after every previous departure. But it was fab the rest of our visit. We had a couple of niggles at the start but these were quickly resolved. Which was great. The only other thing I would suggest is there wasn’t enough cupboard space for our food stuff and a bread bun would have been useful but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the cottage. It had everything else you could need. I would love to have booked it again next year. But the price has gone up by 50% to over £3000. And unfortunately that is just too much for our budget.

Having stayed at Fellside for the week with my wife and pet dog Basil we felt relaxed and the homely feel of the property, the hot tub was a great feature to enjoy a glass or two the evening.

The only small downside was the property has Sky but for some reason none of channels were available even the standard channels, thankfully watching TV wasn’t essential as the views and walks are our thing.

Really lovely property, comfortable and well equipped.

The hot tub was amazing after a day walking. Our little dog loved the dog bath and was perfect for keeping him clean after a long walk. Great location and only 5 mins walk into Bowness. My only suggestion would be more comfortable dining chairs and some oven gloves.

We had a lovely stay at Fellside lodge.

There was 6 of us (3 couples) and 4 dogs and our 1 year old. The property is excellently situated and everything is so accessible. The house is lovely & cosy, and the hot tub is fabulous! The cellar in particular is a godsend with 4 dogs and how well they are included is amazing. The fact there’s a main bathroom, downstairs toilet and 2 en suites too is brilliant. There could be a few maintenance improvements to the property. For example, the tumble dryer took us ages to work out as it kept turning off. The Roman blinds in the bedrooms were a little tempremental, and the kitchen handle under the sink was loose so we kept having to screw it back on. The pin for the skybox would have been useful too as there was a couple of drama series we wanted to watch and couldn’t. A little cheap foldaway high chair would have been really useful too (we took our own but this would have saved us some space in the car). The third bedroom was also made up as a twin and all of us were couples, so that was a shame and it would have been good to have been asked how the beds should be made up prior to arrival (apologies if we missed that request however). We were disappointed on our last day as the cleaners turned up at 9am and sat in their car with the engine running which made us all feel on edge and a nuisance even though we were packing up and the check out was 10am. However, upon contacting the owner Claire, she was lovely and responded immediately. It was our first time in the Lakes and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. It is a beautiful property and we could have easily stayed another week.

This is my second visit to Fellside Lodge, and even better than the last one.

The owners clearly love providing an amazing experience, and with the addition of the hot tub this year, I could not fault it in any way. I will return soon.

The only thing I would say is the details of the house should state there are a lot of steps to access the property and also inside to access the lower bedroom and also the kitchen. My mother who has mobility problems (not wheelchair ) found it difficult at times. That said, lovely house Thanks again Liz Mead

Absolutely loved this cottage….

Well equipped and everything to a very high standard. Hot tub is fantastic and well maintained. Location was perfect and we especially loved how the dogs were so welcomed and well catered for. We enjoyed our stay so much and have already booked for next year !

Everything was great apart from the neighbours who were a bit much.

Coming out with disinfectant spraying it everywhere because one of our dogs couldn't wait till she got to the road. It was only a little wee. But all in all it is a great place to stay and near town and the lake.

Absolutely loved this cottage.

It was among the best equipped and presented we have stayed in during approximately 20 years of visiting the Lakes. We were particularly impressed with the dog friendly aspect, as all too often dogs are not made as welcome as they should be. Our only issue was the walking distance from the town, but this was a small price to pay.

We had a fantastic stay at Fellside.

The house was beautifully finished with many touches well thought out. Our dog loved the special additions for him and our friends who stayed with us enjoyed the amount of living space which suited the infant they had with them. When we booked, the hot tub was not part of house description and this new addition was a great treat after a day of walking. The showers were super and we always had hot water, even when the whole party of guests showered in the morning. (Please don’t include this paragraph in published feedback - only for owners). The dog bath was not clean when we arrived as someone had tried to wash dog poo and tissues down the plughole. It was very smelly and my partner had to clean it up. I think it would be useful to have a sign on the door to the cellar saying there are steep stairs behind it. The property itself was absolutely perfect - really couldn’t have asked for a better location, facilities, comfort and the like.

It was a brilliant week and we were blessed with the weather which meant lots of dinners outside. The house was missing nothing in terms of utensils, blankets, amble cutlery and plates. Our only question mark was relating to some of the essentials we thought would have been included; for example, there was no washing up liquid, but a sponge was provided. Similarly the coffee machine was there, but there weren’t any pods. We’d also taken some of our own towels from home which was handy otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to use the hot tub nearly as much! Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful time and the beautiful house you’ve built was perfect for us. Our pooches settled in so quickly and all the dog-friendly recommendations were greatly appreciated. We were in town with family who stayed the other side of Bowness and Fellside Lodge quickly became the place we wanted to spend our time over their accommodation. It is a brilliant home! Thank you for having us.

Super dog friendly house in a great location.

Very well equipped for two and four legged friends. The house was very clean and well presented.

Accommodation first class and absolutely brilliant for dog owners.

Excellent facilities and location, brilliant for dogs with the throws and towels provided, the courtyard is safe for dogs which was our main concern, Very difficult to find a negative comment, my only comment would be to get your cleaners to move the furniture when they clean as when we cleaned on our last day we found a lot of old dust!

Already recommended to a friend who is going to book. Loved it. Paul

Cracking cottage overall!

Very dog friendly which was fantastic!! A few areas weren’t clean like kitchen floor Hot tub was there hope it’s staying for future as we will rebook !

Beautiful home in a perfect location, just a 10 minute walk from Bowness village and also the lakeside.

The property was very well equipped for humans and especially dogs, and suited a multi-generational family weekend break. Would recommend this property and would stay here again.

Wow this is a beautiful spacious cottage.

It has been tastefully decorated with lots of lovely finishing touches.The cottage was lovely and clean and apart from the dog washing facilities which are an excellent idea you wouldn’t be aware it was a dog friendly cottage. It is just a short walk (10 mins) into Bowness-on-Windermere where there are some wonderful restaurants and bar.We will definitely re-book this little gem.

Excellent house and location.

Very good standard of equipment and finishings. Not particularly dog safe in yard area, as previously reported, and no brush to sweep up all the leaves, which was a problem as dog mess in the area, which I stood in before I had even entered property. Laundry basket in bathroom was full of dirty linen from previous occupiers, which was not the best welcome on day one. However, this has not put us off, and we have already booked for two weeks next January.

The house, furnishing, facilities, position in Bowness village were all wonderful. It felt very spacious, relaxing but full of quality. We found a few things that needed fixing which we felt were easily missed (we gave the detail to the very accommodating house-manager when she came to clean). We are already looking forward to returning.

Fellside Lodge was perfect!

It is situated very well for exploring Lake Windermere and Bowness and surrounding areas. We will definitely be back! Been restored very tastefully and looks great!

Hi we all thought that the property had everything we could possibly need.

It was very homely, cosy, lovely and warm and very peaceful. The beds are fantastic and really comfortable. We all enjoyed out stay for the weekend. The only things we can say that are negative is the cleanliness, we do not feel that the floors had been mopped at all and were very dirty including the bedroom floors. The beds had not been made when we arrived and when the person turned up the linen they expected us initially to make up the beds ourselves. We found dirty underwear, socks and other items of clothes in one of the drawers in our room which we a big no no. One of the shower doors in the ground floor room did not close properly which in turn allowed water to leak out onto the floor. With the exception of those things mentioned above it did not stop us all having a lovely relaxed warm cosy weekend. The positives outweigh the negatives by far. thanks Neil & party.

The beds are so comfortable and the doggy facilities amazing! The weather was atrocious so copious amounts of wine were consumed in front of the log burner!!

Absolutely wonderful stay at Fellside Lodge.

The cottage is just beautiful, location is excellent and the facilities are second to none! Lovely touch to provide towels and blankets for the doggies! The kitchen is so well equipped, had I know how fantastic is was I would have most certainly planned to cook more. Ten out of ten and I would recommend to anyone!

Brilliant location.

Cottage itself was lovely, felt cosy whilst really spacious. All the facilities were great, dog grooming and throws, towels were great addition. Could have done with a stiff yard brush to scrub the steps, they are really slippery when wet. Also, some fencing to stop the dog trying to walk on the garage roof... Booking for next year!!!
