Nearby is Lakeside, with it's Aquarium, Haverthwaite steam railway or you can catch a cruise around Lake Windermere or head to National Trust's Fellfoot Park.
The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, where contemporary exhibits are devoted to the renowned children's author, or head across the lake via the ferry to find Beatrix Potter's former house, Hill Top, which is owned by the National Trust.
