Sanderson House

Good facilities, spacious and comfortable.

It had everything we needed for our party of 13. Beautiful garden. The hot tub and pool table were well received and used. Convenient for shopping and takeaways. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. An outside facility to dry towels and bathing suits would be useful in addition to the tumble dryer provided. There were some maintenance issues: left hand sink in kitchen drained slowly and outside waste pipe leaded over the patio. Plug in downstairs toilet basin was stuck in the drain and we were unable to free it. Some of the kitchen units need TLC.

Property was amazing, we didn't have the weather for the hot tub unfortunately but had it been able to be sheltered for different seasons would have been ideal, this didn't hinder the stay at all though.

The layout was perfect, there was 5 couples in our party the girls had a good natter in the large lounge while the gents enjoyed the living room with the pool table, then we all enjoyed games and drinks together in the conservatory later. We only stayed the weekend so mainly had cooked breakfasts and ate out but the kitchen definitely well stocked with pans crockery cutlery etc for entertaining big groups. The house was very clean, very comfortable beds, showers were powerful, no complaints at all. Will return with family for sure.

The house was perfect from the moment we arrived.

There was plenty of parking on the private driveway, and the spacious entrance hall—with its beautiful wooden staircase—set a wonderful first impression. All the bedrooms were well presented, warm, and cosy. The lounge areas were large and comfortable, offering plenty of space to relax. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Overall, it’s a fantastic house for hosting a large group of friends or family.

We have just completed our 4 night stay at Sanderson house we were a large family party age range 12mths to 60yrs, the house is large spacious and comfortable with plenty of seating and space for everyone, the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and the pool table and cinema room were great and very popular with the younger family members.

We were unlucky with the weather so spent the majority of our time was in the house and we all enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We had such a lovely relaxed time with our stay.

The weather was terrible but the house definitely made up for it, it was lovely to get away and was worth every penny.

Hot tub to hot couldn’t use it even after complaining still was too hot and was told to put cold water in from tap in garden but tap didn’t work dog poo large in garden so needed to clean it up before the kids could play and outooor area was shocking had to scrub bbq area before use inside the house was fine would not go here again unless all these problems were fixed

We loved the house, there was loads of space for our family to spread out.

There’s loads of socialising space, the pool table and hot tub were fantastic for occupying us on the inevitable rainy days. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms had all we needed. The kitchen has a lovely huge fridge and freezer, great for all our food supplies. The footpath running right by the house is so convenient for walks out.

A large property that suited our needs for our multi generational family holiday in Cumbria.

Set in a secluded corner with lovely views. A good location for reaching the Western Lakes. Plenty of comfortable seating and large dining table meant we could all sit together and talk about our day. We did have to mop the kitchen and dining room floors before our first meal but it didn’t spoil our stay. The added bonus was the ample private parking.

The only fault was we couldn't stay longer. Sanderson house is beautiful. Very clean, warm and comfortable and spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable. The outdoor facilities were second to none. The hot tub was always warm and ready to use. We would recommend this accommodation to any one looking for a perfect stay.

On arrival at the house we were all very impressed with the size and layout of the weekend holiday home.

A sizeable area for parking the family cars (5) and plenty of space for everyone to find their own space. Seven good sized bedrooms available meant everyone had a good space to sleep meaning the weekend would be perfect. Outside space was great with different zones gave everyone somewhere to relax. The outside hut with a bar area next to the hot-tub was a place to escape though I did not get the chance to use it. Similarly there was also a gym at the other end of the garden. A spacious kitchen and separate dining area which was clean and tidy and with enough appliances etc it meant the whole family were able to eat together without being cramped. There were enough sofas to seat a couple of football teams comfortably which meant we could all sit together if we wanted to but the children were enjoying themselves that much we had little time to use them. Overall a fantastic home from home. Excellent peaceful holiday home.

12 of us had a fantastic 2 night stay at Sanderson House.

The house was superbly equipped, with everything we could possibly need. The whole house standard was amazing and everyone commented on the cleanliness, layout and huge amount of space. The pool table was a must for us and we were very happy it was a full size table. Bathrooms and bedrooms, again, were perfect for us all. Thanks so much for a brilliant house, it definitely made our trip very enjoyable! We'll be back!

Omg absolutely amazing stay.

From arriving till leaving we all loved everything about Sanderson house All rooms are big so felt very spacious indeed. So many things provided just in case (hairdryers, high chair, travel cot even dog bowls and towel) usually need to bring these things which can be a right chore for some families. All rooms (living, dining and tv room) had more than enough seating even when house was at maximum capacity. Usually struggle to fit everyone in in rental properties. Was also no chance of running out of cutlery, crockery or glasses. Well stocked indeed. Utility room was awesome for a longer stay. Pool table in the lounge was a massive hit as was the Hot tub and where we spent a lot of time as the weather was a touch miserable. We did venture out to local beach which was nice and plenty things around like shops, Chinese and bars. Or Closest town only about 4 miles away. The garden is also huge again with plenty of space, seating areas, summer house bar and barbecue, not to forget the gym. Amazing place to spend with family and can only imagine it being even better in the summer!! Host Sarah was a pleasure to deal with and communication was very punctual. I’d definitely recommend Sanderson house and say it was great value for money. We met up with family for further away and everyone was impressed with the house

We had a lovely Christmas week at Sanderson House.

With 11 of various ages in the family group there was lots of room for everyone to spread out. The pool table and hot tub were a hit and the bedrooms comfortable. The dining area was ideal with everyone able to sit comfortably and we could all gather in the sitting rooms for different activities.

What a really lovely house.

It was well accommodating for everyone and we had such a good weekend there.

Lovely spacious house.

Excellent facilities. The pool table was a big hit. Plenty of parking. Easy entry to the house. Lovely shower toiletries. Booking communication was outstanding.

Wonderful house, super spacious and rooms were fantastic.

Minor quibble as the treadmill wasn't in the Gym as one of our party was looking forward to using it. Also, some issues with showering in the first floor bathroom with water going cold during some showers. But honestly, this is a fabulous place to stay for a large party and great value.

We loved our stay, because of the celebration and company!

We didn't let the disappointment of the house spoil our special occasion. The house was dirty, we had to clean everything before using it and was reluctant to put food away in cupboards and fridge due to the lack of cleanliness. Because of this, we also didn't use all of the facilities such as the hot tub. Some furniture was broken and unusable.

From the initial booking to all communication with regards to our Booking we were kept fully informed of everything we needed prior to our arrival, I contacted Sarah Ludar-Smith during our stay as some light bulbs had stopped working and she had Steve come over that day to replace, this was exceptional service, the house was absolutely perfect for us, with 2 teenagers the Gym was used daily, the Hot Tub was amazing, the weather was not perfect so did not utilise the sun house and bar area next to the hot tub but it’s a perfect space for sunny weather, every evening we had a pool competition which got very competitive, plenty of living space, the cinema TV room with the massive TV was also used for my Son he had taken his XBox with him.

Kitchen area is stocked with everything you need with a great sized fridge and freezer, the conservatory area for dining was spacious and extremely comfy for all meals, cannot fault any of the bedrooms again all set up beautifully and having the towels was perfect, garden was very spacious and ideal as it was all enclosed so our dog was safe out playing in the garden, even the surrounding area there is lovely walks with plenty of wildlife. Only 9 minutes from the house there is a great Local Brewery with a great choice of beers and we had dinner there on the Friday night the food was spectacular, would definitely book a table for the night you want as very busy place. Cannot recommend this place enough just perfect, and would recommend this to all, thanks Sarah for all your communication this made us feel very welcome and very much looked after

This is an amazing house!

We had an wonderful time making use of the pool table, hot tub and fire pit. The sitting room (with the pool table in) was brilliant for playing games and chatting, as the sofas are all arranged in a square with a table in the middle. The other sitting room was great for older family members to retreat to when they wanted to watch a bit of tv. The location is good, with plenty to do nearby, although the house is so fantastic we didn't feel the need to go out much. My bed was one of the comfiest I've ever stayed in away from home and several other family members also made the same comments. The room I was staying in had blackout blinds and thick blackout curtains, which made for a lovely dark bedroom at night. I assume the other rooms were the same, but didn't check. The kitchen and dining area is a wonderful, social space and it was great that everyone could fit around the dining table. Things like hand soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, shampoo etc were provided, which was good. The house was very clean. A few suggestions to make it even better would be better lighting in the pool table room. Three out of the five bulbs above the pool table weren't working and the type of lighting, even if the bulbs were working, wasn't really adequate for the room. We had to move the lamp to the back of the room in order to see the pool table and when sitting chatting at night it felt dark. A bluetooth speaker in the pool table room would also be good, but just a suggestion. The photo of the gym is also out of date, as there is no longer a treadmill in there and the multigym didn't work. However, the communication with the owner is excellent (via WhatsApp) and I'm sure if we'd mentioned that the multigym wasn't working they'd have sorted it. We all had an fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend this house as a wonderful place to stay.

This is one of the best self catering holiday homes we have stayed in.

We appointed with all of the equipment needed and in good working order. The hot tub and garden are lovely and there is lots to do within easy reach.

10 of us arrived for 1 week (July 24) at the lovely house which was very spacious.

Dining room had enough seats and a big table for all of us to sit for meals and the Utility had, Washer Dryer, Dishwasher, Iron and Ironing Board so very useful. Kitchen was well stocked with Dishes, Pans and Cutlery. Although there were plenty of Oven Tray's and Utensils I felt that these needed updating. Bedroom again were big and plenty of storage, the beds were very comfortable although for some were a bit low. While staying we did have a slight problem (that was not the agents fault) this was dealt quickly and efficiently by Sarah and Simon, thank you. I feel there are a couple of issues. We had a dog and small children staying, there was no gate at the bottom of the stairs leaving it open, because of this we had to improvise to keep dog from going up and the toddler from climbing the stairs. It would have been very useful if there had been a gate there, you could put a child gate when guests have dogs or small children for safety. The garden definitely needs improving as it lets the property down, needs new Fire Pit, table and chairs (rusty), new wooden seat (near Fire Pit) weeds taller than myself need clearing. Only my opinion but it could be improved with some ornaments attached to the fence and maybe light on the fence too. Although there were some negatives all in all it was a nice house with a great Hot Tub, Thank you.

Fantastic family house plenty of room for 3 families

It was a memorable holiday with family and friends.

House was very spacious and well equipped. Only concern was that one of the showers in the first floor had a leak which leaked down to the kitchen from ceiling above. Otherwise everything was upto our expectations. Thank you

The house is amazing.

It has plenty of room with the pool table in one room, there is a cinema room, a sofa in the kitchen and a large conservatory. The pool table was well used and was in good condition. The hot tub was one of the best we have been in. The bedrooms are large with 3 being en suite. We went for a walk round Ennerdale lake which is just over 3 miles away but there is also a path at the gates to the property which leads to a cycle path. We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning. Contact was by email and WhatsApp so easy to communicate.

The property was just great for our needs, three different families all coming together to share the space.

I have never slept in beds like it, they were so very comfortable ❤️

The house is a great place to get a big group together and spacious enough not to feel overcrowded.

We didn't have enough towels for our group though, despite there only being 11 of us and some bath towels were too small. It was too cold in the house on a few occasions we no option to change the heating. One of the ovens didn't work. Some light bulbs need replacing and there were no dishwasher tablets. And there were no wine glasses or pint glasses. A small pool cue might be a good idea too. It's quite tight around the pool table. But we would recommend and these are just suggestions to make it better for your next visitors

We had the loveliest of time at Sanderson park.

It’s a beautiful clean property and had everything we needed, i would highly recommend this place and all I would say is the back garden could have a little more done in the way of colour “flowers” but it didn’t have any bearing on the fabulous time we spent there, an hour later 10.30, check out would have been better but we managed it and I hope to return again. Heating was an issue as it was set by timer and we could not change.

The weather had turned cold and we could not adjust the heating to come on, which is not good when you have young children.

Beautiful property, plenty of room for a large group.

Spotlessly clean. Slight niggles, bath towels on the small size. Need larger pans. Floor boards very squeaky. Mat runner by front door a trip hazard.

Just Fabulous !

We had four generations of our family in the house and not once did we feel on top of one another . The owners were amazing helping us when we didn’t quite read the instructions for the oven

Property was perfect and very good value for money, everyone enjoyed it - would recommend!

! We would have stripped the bedding as requested but could not find the bags mentioned in thr welcome booklet - sorry!

We were given loads of information before we arrived at the property which was very useful.

Once we entered the property everything looked very clean and nice. Everything was set out neatly and looking very lovely including the small details e.g box of tissue. Overall we must say the whole property looked amazing

The house is absolutely stunning, with stunning views.

The owners, neighbours and people in general are really really nice and friendly people. I would certainly recommend you this house with a 5 star experience.
