Stable Cottage

An absolutely beautiful place to stay.

So quiet and tucked out of the way with a great view. The owners were absolutely lovely. I highly recommend staying here in one of their cottages or on their campsite.

Great stay.

Fab location - easy to navigate walks from the door step but also not too far away from other lovely places to visit! Clean property.

Lovely accommodation very clean and comfortable myself my daughter and my 3 grandchildren had a great holiday there.

Loved the country feel and the sheep from the farm

Lovely holiday at Stable Cottage, plenty of space in both kitchen/diner/lounge area.

Well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Bedrooms both roomy and being downstairs were cool to sleep comfortably in, which was ideal during spate of really hot weather during our stay. Spacious bathroom with lovely hot water. Good location with lovely views, ideal property if you have dogs. Watching the sheep being sheared was an added bonus

Very comfortable cottage in a lovely location for walking.

The owner was very helpful when there was a problem with the TV.

Perfect location for walks from the doorstep.

We really enjoyed our stay at Stable Cottage and can recommend it for a quiet stay in a rural setting. This is a great area of the country with picturesque walks including the Coast to Coast close by. We visited Kirkby Stephen, Appleby and Penrith and for eating out can recommend the Kings Head pub in the nearby village of Ravenstonedale.

The property and surrounding areas are beautiful and the owners were so lovely and friendly and made us feel so welcome, it was home from home our only issue was the sofas were really uncomfortable other than that it was perfect, the cottage was spotless it was spacious and just such a lovely cottage, the beds were all comfy, it was a really lovely holiday, Thank you so much to Diane and Mike our holiday at your cottage was the best

Really enjoyed our little get away to mountains with kids and dogs.

Weather wasn't the best, butvpeace and view was amazing. Exactly what we needed.

We had the most wonderful stay, the cottage was beautiful and spacious, it surpassed expectations.

The surrounding area is the most beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales and easy access to the Lake District. The owners were lovely and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this beautiful cottage

Lovely location, cottage clean and comfortable.

We would stay again if we were to visit the area again.

It was a lovely cottage, had everything we needed for a home away from home, beautiful location too, owners were friendly and helpful, would definitely go there again.

This is basic accommodation at a good value price.

You get what you pay for and on this basis we are happy.

Lovely cottage that met all of our needs.

We just found the sofa a bit lumpy!

Home from home, private and lovely area

The property is very clean and spacious, and provided everything we needed.

There are plenty of footpaths virtually on the doorstep. But it is not far from the main road, so easy to get around. We really enjoyed our short break in the area.

we had a great time in Stable Cottage, Mike and Diane are superb hosts.

Thx for everything! Highly recommended!

Property is lovely , owners very helpful.

Very dog friendly . Quiet location ( which we wanted) Very comfy bed Really good pub grub especially at the Black Bull at Nateby

Fantastic stay.

Really unwound in the peace and quiet. Owners were kind. Chatty. And very friendly. Will be going back Also very dog friendly.

A comfortable well equipped cottage in a beautiful area close to the Howgill Fells.

Although on a working farm this has a peaceful vibe which is just what you need to relax. Plenty of easily accessible walks from the doorstep and the whole area is not over busy with visitors. Cottage itself is very dog friendly, even includes windows at dog height for hours of fascination watching sheep! Bed and sofas are very comfortable and cottage is warm. Enough pots and utensils are provided. All in all excellent cottage.

Amazing weekend stay with the family, hosts are friendly and helpful, great place to get away somewhere quite,

Lovely Cottage, set in an idyllic location, perfect for relaxing and not too far from beautiful historic villages with great places of interest all around, the owners were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble, will definitely go again.

Owners were friendly, helpful and super responsive.

The property was charming and we had a great time.

Perfect cottage for a relaxing comfortable home from home break away from the demands of busy lives but still close enough to civilisation Lots of lovely areas to walk Lovely welcoming and helpful hosts next door Parking good

We had a lovely stay at stable cottage, it was the perfect location to explore the local area and the lakes.

Spacious comfortable clean cottage in a lovely location.

Lots of local walks, and a short distance to key lakes areas and the Yorkshire dales. Ideal if you have a dog. We are planning to return next year

Very peaceful location with beautiful views of the countryside.

Excellent base to explore the wider surrounding areas. Friendly and helpful owners who made this a great stay.

Very enjoyable stay with our border collie.

Extremely easy to find with the provided directions. Plenty of parking available. Amazing setting alongside the farm, with plenty of nice walks available straight out of the door. Perfect for us with our dog. Well situated for the Yorkshire dales and the Lakes. The house was extremely well equipped, had everything we could have needed. Not sure how a previous reviewer had complained about the kitchen facilities. Had everything from a pizza cutter to pans and chopping boards. Nothing wrong with the kettle and microwave. DVDs provided which we watched all of during our stay, a great selection of films for the evenings. My partner didn't find the bed particularly comfortable, however I didn't have any issue at all. WiFi was unexpectedly good! We only briefly met the owners, but they were very welcoming. Couldn't have wished for a more peaceful stay for a nice chilled bank holiday week. Willow (the dog) was in his element watching the farmer and his dogs through the window. Would definitely return!

We liked the cottage.

It was warm , a good size , the wifi was efficient, the shower was good. It is in a good location and we liked the walks from the door. It is basic , the parking and access are not great. It gives the impression in the ad that there is parking for three cars this needs to be clarified. The kitchen could be better equipped. It needs a new kettle and microwave. However the cottage is good value for money. As long as the costs remain the same we would use it again and recommend it.

Loved the cottage, even better than expected Knew where the owners were if we needed them - but the stay was very peaceful and quiet, cold and stormy outside which made the cottage even nicer inside.

There was a leak upstairs, hopefully you saw our note in the book - caused us no problems, just wanted you to be aware. Ours was a relaxing weekend before Christmas and arrival of our baby which is due in a few weeks, perfectly did the job Thank you v much, maybe see you again

Fantastic cottage with everything you’ll need.

Great walks on the door step for our two dogs. Lovely pubs short drive away Perfect little getaway

A wonderful cottage, perfectly located to explore Cumbria, The Lakes & The Dales.

The cottage was perfect for dogs. Both owners are very friendly and welcoming when encountered on the farm. Neighbouring farmers friendly too. I’ll be back for another stay with my dogs soon.

Only issue was signage finding the farm could of been more obvious as it is a little weathered but it was a lovely weekend ideal for the lakes, everything needed was in the cottage, hope to return soon

Nice cottage in a very quiet area, it took a bit of getting used to living upstairs and sleeping downstairs.

Marion has a bad back and found it awkward to get down and see out the low windows. We did find the bedroom curtains very thin and were waking up with the light showing through. But all in all if we are coming up to the area again we would look at staying with you again.

Really lovely property really enjoyed our stay.

Everyone was very friendly. Cottage had everything we needed and great to find somewhere to accommodate our 3 children. One small bit of feed back is maybe just to provide a stair gate for the living area just to help keep little ones off the stairs. Overall a lovely stay will definitely look to book again.

We had a lovely stay at Stable Cottage.

It's very spacious and warm, the bedrooms are comfy, it was perfect for our family of 5 (and the dog). Views from the cottage are beautiful and the kids enjoyed the upside down layout. There are fantastic walks from the doorstep, and nearby Kirkby Stephen (10 min drive) has nice cafes, shops and walks.

Stayed here for 7 nights and I can honestly say it was a fantastic break.

The cottage was perfect for our family unit and the owners are lovely. They couldn’t do enough for us. The views are beautiful and there are great walks you can do. We would highly recommend this cottage. The price was a lot cheaper than other cottages, so we were sceptical of whether it was going to be alright but we were pleasantly surprised.

Absolutely fantastic cottage with everything needed included.

Spotless throughout. Surrounded by stunning scenery. Will certainly be looking to book again. Thankyou

The cottage was lovely, the surroundings were beautiful, the owners are really friendly, we would definitely like to come again

We have just had a wonderful stay in Stable Cottage.

For a holiday rental it was very well equipped. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the location was lovely and peaceful. We rented it as a base to explore the area and further afield to some of the Lakes and it suited us perfectly.

Silent Day, Silent Night, All is wonder, All is bright.

...... The perfect authentic farm cottage, nicely placed astride the Lakes and Dales, for exploring both. World famous moorlands and dry stone stone walls, glorious bird sound, little lambs leaping and fluorescent green fields. Genuine and friendly pubs in the village. Walking the nearby old railway footpath to spectacular viaduct recommended. Warm and friendly hosts Mike and Diane, with welcoming collie sheep dog. Helped by perfect spring weather, wall to wall sunshine, crystal clear sky for star gazing, and perfect silence .... aah.

We planned our holiday around doing the 3 peaks.

We managed to complete 2 of the 3 mountains. This cottage was an hour drive away from the peaks but it was a lovely drive to them. It was nice to come back to a lovely spacious cottage after such a challenge, only thing missing for me was an hot tub. We will definately be back to complete the 3rd mountain and we would consider returning to this cottage. The owners were very friendly and it was nice and quiet and the scenery aroung the place was stunning. When we book again it will be for a longer period of time. 3 nights was not enough.

Fantastic location, with everything we needed.

A wonderful location and fantastic hosts.

We really enjoyed seeing the farm animals. A cosy home from home.

The Stables is in a great place you can do lots off walks straight from the door.

It is a bit tight to get in the gateway you just have to take a wide sweep in. The owners were very helpful even supplied us with a map of local walks and a few suggestion of local pubs to go for food. We would definitely go back again.

Beautiful location, will definitely be visiting the area again.

A lovely cottage for a family of 5.

The children enjoyed watching the goings on on the farm from the upstairs windows and found it funny to be in an "upside down" house. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped.

Wonderful location with great walks from the door.

Amazing cottage and lovely family who own the farm.

Great location for Dales, Howgills and Lakes.

Cottage was very comfortable & spacious and the hosts were very friendly. We would like to visit again.

We stayed at stable cottage.

It is a lovely little cottage and owners are lovely and welcoming. We all had a fantastic time the children loved meeting the farm animals. We will definitely book to go back again in the near future

Clear instructions and confirmations, easy to use website

We were impressed by the cleanliness and warmth of welcome in this cosy cottage.

We would definitely recommend it - excellent location for the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales
