“We had a 3 night stay at "The Ridge" with some friends (8 of us) for a big birthday and it was outstanding.”

The house is amazing, the pictures (which are great) just don't do it justice! It was super comfortable, beautifully kitted out and we didn't want for anything. So many amazing touches and details throughout the property. The location is perfect and the views on to Windermere are absolutely stunning. Communication with the house manager was great, both before and during the stay, we had a slight issue with a door during our stay which was remedied within a few hours. Couldn't ask for ...

“We had an amazing stay at The Ridge, it was the perfect space for us all.”

Our family group ranged from 6 months to 60 years old. The 2 year old loved the space to run on the decking whilst the 60 year old enjoyed being master of the grill for the holiday. It was a bit rainy but this didn’t dampen our spirits, our favourite time was sat in the outdoor bath first and last thing watching the boats going up and down Windermere. My only niggle was that we had chosen this property over another because of kayaks and paddle boards being available but there were no kayaks. When I enquired about this I was told that the kayak had a hole in it. It would have been nice if another could have been sourced or even a little message before arrival saying it was unfortunately out of action so we didn’t have that expectation. Aside from this our week was amazing, everything inside and out was beautifully presented, the hamper a lovely welcome, there was plenty of space for everyone to comfortably sit together in all the rooms, the fantastic views from the living spaces and bedrooms, the games room was well used and the quick response when we had a maintenance issue on the first night was very much appreciated. The Ridge definitely deserves its 5 * rating.

“As a family of 8 adults, two 4-year-olds and one 10-year-old, this house was a perfect size - space to enjoy altogether and space for alone time.”

The games, cinema and gym rooms were a bonus and all put to good use. Great facilities in the kitchen, utility and the BBQ area. Plenty of space on the balconies and terrace, with adequate seating for all. Beautiful views of the garden and Lake Windermere from the house. Plenty of car parking at the front of the house. A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion with family and friends. There were issues with the very noisy plumbing and some toilet seats not being fitted properly - all were reported. We noticed the cleanliness in some rooms could have been a little better, and the rugs, in the kitchen were curled at the corners, even though we noted non-slip pads underneath. Therefore, we decided to roll the rugs and place them in the utility room to avert any trip hazards for adults and children.

“As a family (9 of us) we had a great time celebrating Grandmothers 80th birthday.”

Everything was clean and maintained to a high specification. The only problem was the BBQ, which is gas fired. We had planned to use it one night and there were 3 gas cylinders by the BBQ but all empty. We enjoyed using the canoe and paddle board. Would love to go there again if we had the money.

“The property is exceptional.”

So well designed and spacious, furnished and decorated to a high standard. Every one of our guests expressed a desire to live here! The views are fantastic from nearly every room. Beth, the property manager provided fantastic service, was very personable and responsive, making contact early and was most accommodating to our needs for the very youngest members of our party. A few minor negatives: 1. There was a drains smell in one side of the house which did not dissipate. 2. We were not a fan of the coffee machine and think it could be upgraded for this standard of house but we are coffee fans! 3. If there is anyway to dampen the suction sound after flushing toilets it might help sleeping babies and adults! 4. We felt very guilty not recycling so kept the glass bottles separate in case the staff had an option to recycle. As a keen sailor and power boater, the ability to rent a boat for the week would have been a very special extra which I tried to do but could not find. Overall a superb property that we would be very happy to rent

“Everything about the property was amazing.”

We enjoyed the Cinema, the Games room, the gym, the facilities at the Boathouse, the jetty and the water sports. All bedrooms were amazing with en suite facilities, all with amazing views over the lake. The Kitchen, Dining Room and lounge were all also amazing. Could not fault anything we were all blown away with the property.

“Our stay at The Ridge was an amazing week.”

The house is stunning and provided everything you can imagine making the week so special and memorable. We arrived to meet Beth, and she was amazing in helping us settle in and have access to the house as soon as the cleaners had finished. The boathouse, jetty and access to the lake make this house truly exceptional with the family spending each day out on the paddleboards, swimming, and fishing in such a stunning location. We will definitely be booking again next year, thanks again.

We all had the most amazing time at The Ridge. Every time we went out to explore, we couldn’t wait to get back to such a beautiful home! It really is one of the best properties you can stay in the Lake District. There is so much space for everyone with plenty to do. The convenience of having SUPs, Kayaks & Canoe’s accessible at the dock was a real highlight. Beth was amazing in organising our stay with no problems.

“The property and gardens are absolutely beautiful; we had a wonderful week's stay made even better by the weather.”

The quality of the fixtures and furnishings are top class. It is a very comfortable house with everything you could need. We had a small issue regarding a faulty gas canister for the barbecue but Beth, the house manager, very swiftly resolved this resulting in minimal disruption to our bbq that evening. It was a very enjoyable stay and we hope to return in the future.

Whilst we constantly viewed the pics before our stay we simply couldn’t believe that in reality The Ridge was even better than ever -we didn’t really venture far as everything was there to hand - the five children aged 8 -3 years had a great time and still talk about their experiences with so much excitement -the views from each window are stunning - we all loved every minute - our five year old said he wanted to stay at The Ridge forever - you can’t get better than that (Fran and family)

“This is a truly stunning property which has been designed and furnished to an exceptionally high standard.”

Our party covered 3 generations and we all had an amazing time. We made the most of the super location and equipment by kayaking in Lake Windermere, warming up by the log fire, catching a game of pool before winding down with a movie on the huge TV. We can 100% recommend this property to anyone.

We were a party of 12 ranging from 18-80 and everyone loved the house and the facilities which allowed us to play darts/ pool / use the cinema / chill in one of the many spaces and also paddleboard. Close enough to Bowness and the local pubs to have meals out or spend time in the fantastic property

Definitely recommend to anyone to stay here as you won’t be disappointed. We had one issue regarding the plug sockets in one of the rooms which was resolved as soon as the house manager could get to us, however it definitely didn’t dampen the experience we had.

“What an amazing house!”

We loved everything about it and can’t recommend it highly enough. Each floor has wonderful views over the lake, every room is spacious with lovely furniture, the kitchen and dining area are perfect for social meals, every utensil and gizmo you could wish for, the cinema room with surround sound is incredible, the boat house and fire pit are great for lake side entertainment and the house manager Beth was always helpful with local knowledge. We even ventured into the gym - once. This house has real wow factor and you will not be disappointed. 10 stars.

“The Ridge is a true gem!”

Exceeded all our expectations. We were especially honoured to be the very first guests and everything went so well! Even though it is new, it had a warm lived-in feel!The mountain cabin / ski chalet vibe was super amazing! It sits on the lakefront and with an amazing hot tub and fire pit, lake swims were made possible in December! All the rooms were so thoughtfully and elegantly put together, beautiful furnishings, and the kitchen deserves special mention - both the quality and abundance of tableware and kitchenware made it feel more like our own home or a friend’s house than a rental. The beautiful screening room large and comfortably fitted all 11 of us, the games room popular with our teenagers, and the views were picturesque!! I especially loved sitting up in bed in the morning and the lake is the first thing I see. Amazing. 20 over 10! The owners are super lovely and thoughtful - left us a delightful and large Christmas hamper and the house manager was so awesome. The Ridge was definitely worth the 7plus hours drive from Kensington!
