    “We booked this last minute.”

On arrival the cottage is hard to find. Parking is roadside which we knew about and didn't have any trouble parking at all. The cottage is comfortable and cosy. The gifts of wine and biscuits were a nice touch thank you. However it is very tired and in need of some tlc, so could be a little gold mine if looked after. The garden is small and hasn't been cared for at all, given we were there in July and wanted to sit outside as the weather was lovely, we needed to tidy it up first just to sit ...

The gifts of wine and biscuits were a nice touch thank you. However it is very tired and in need of some tlc, so could be a little gold mine if looked after. The garden is small and hasn't been cared for at all, given we were there in July and wanted to sit outside as the weather was lovely, we needed to tidy it up first just to sit down. Some areas inside were unclean, cupboards in kitchen are a little smelly and handles were sticky. Had to clean kitchen before use. Having said that, the location is handy for exploring the lake district and the local pub is exceptional, dog friendly and fabulous food too. We enjoyed our short stay overall but wouldn't return to this particular property unless it was given the tlc it deserves. The bed linen was lovely and fresh, personally I found the bed too hard.
