“This was our fourth visit to Cosy Logs Cottage, and once again we had a wonderful two-week stay.”

The cottage is spotlessly clean, comfortable and full of character, with lovely tasteful décor and very comfortable beds. It’s wonderfully peaceful and relaxing, yet there are beautiful walks straight from the doorstep. The excellent WiFi and easy parking are an added bonus. The owner is excellent and the neighbours are always friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return for a fifth visit. Highly recommended!

“Champagne image attempted on lemonade budget!”

All looks lovely on photos but in reality looks like a cheap rushed job only interested in getting a income. Arrived to mouldy bread in the bread bin with such a smell! Stained tea towel & oven glove, no dishwasher tablets & dirty crockery, floor also blackened our bare feet. Owner responded 24 hours later with offer to bring tablets 48hrs later by which time we'd bought some. Shower in main ensuite is not fit for purpose as it is on such a slope it floods the bedroom. Kitchen drawers don't shut unless with force as it's not level. No shaver/toothbrush charger plug, impossible to sit and dry hair in mirror, no blind or curtains in lounge so no privacy, TV at ridiculous height to comfortably watch. The cottage should be amazing but it's obviously not finished (doors not painted & dirty) and obvious the owners have not lived or stayed in it. Perfect setting for visiting area. Lots of walks from Cark & handy to get a train o further around the coast.

“The cottage was very well situated in Cark with an excellently stocked shop nearby and with walks and a station a short distance away.”

The property soon warmed up and there was plenty of hot water. The staircase was good training for hill walking but would have challenged less mobile people. The kitchen was well equipped, but at over £600 for the week, we felt that the cottage was overpriced for a property of that size. Also, we would have appreciated more than one towel each in the bathroom.

“The property was a good size for our family.”

2 adults and 2 young boys. Stairs weren't a big issue as we are all fit and mobile but will definitely put a lot of people off. The TV is 6-8 inches too high and at the wrong angle, we needed to push the sofa right back up against the stairs and was still uncomfortable to watch. The Kitchen was an asset and the coffee machine and bits left for us were a very nice touch. A small freezer compartment would have been helpful. Bath/shower mats are an essential addition in my opinion and bins. The mattresses were probably the no 1 reason we won't be returning and the main reason we left a night early. The parking was an issue and difficult at times and we felt two of the cars were strategically positioned to take up 4 cars worth of spaces at the front of the property. However the neighbours we met were very friendly.

“Fabulous stay, perfect cosy cottage for 4.”

Great location to lots of places and lots of nearby walks. Great kitchen facilities and loved the welcome hamper. Beds were a little soft for our taste but that is personal preference.

Cark in Cartmel is a small Lakeland village just two miles from Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Cark is well served by the Furness line railway, and features pretty streamside strolls, lovely walks to the local coastline overlooking Morecambe Bay, two fine traditional old pubs and a scattering of small shops. It is a very short stroll from here to Holker Hall, the stately home of Lord Cavendish, whose house, gardens and deer park are open to the public and also now home to a licensed brasserie The Ilex.
