We feel so at home here.

Absolutely beautiful house.

The views out of the window looked too good to be true on the listing - they weren't, the reality was even better. The family bathroom was massive! (Serious envy). The mattress in the main en-suite bedroom was probably the comfiest I've ever slept on. Everything we needed was there. Would stay again - lots to see in surrounding areas, and great walks around the village.

We had an absolutely fantastic week at Riverside View.

The house has everything you'll need for a home to home experience. Lovely, comfy beds with TV's in every bedroom, some of them smart for your apps. Kitchen is well equipped, although a pizza cutter and tongs would be a good addition. Great sized dinning table in a very spacious room with large sofas and big TV with sky. Second living room on the other side was a winner with the kids for their evening movies. The location is brilliant. No more than a 30 minute drive to lakes, beaches, forests and mountains. So much on your doorstep, a week is literally not enough. Thoroughly recommend a boat trip on Windermere, meal at Coniston Inn and the local fish and chips shop. We never go to the same place twice but I'd consider this property again sometime in the future.

Bit disappointed in the outside seating area yard.

We thought that there would be a downstairs toilet but unfortunately there wasn't.

It was in a lovely village which was spotless and the locals were very friendly. The only problem we had was that although there was a lot of taxi companies around we found it very difficult to get one. Other than that the accommodation was really nice, plenty of space and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I had to contact the owner once Agnes he got back to me within half an hour. Would definitely visit again. Thank you.

Perfect spot for exploring the South Lakes!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is about our 9th time visiting Riverside View, and it honestly feels like ‘returning home’ now! The facilities and location are perfect to meet our needs. We have always brought the dog with us and he’s so settled. We have brought family and friends over the years and EVERYONE loves it! The house is always clean and well maintained and any issues (including our friends once leaving some clothing several years ago!) have always been dealt with swiftly and the owners are really helpful! It’s a great base we love the local area and have stayed in several other holiday cottage’s over the years but we found Riverside View and have never looked back - only going elsewhere when our planned week had been booked - we now ensure to book in plenty of time! This year our children and grandchildren stayed nearby and were able to come and visit us which made the holiday even better and the facilities within the property were perfect! Our challenge is to find something ‘new’ that we haven’t done before, and honestly, we never fail! We look forward to going back next year! Thank you!

Great location for exploring the southern Lake District and surrounding area. Also perfect to catch the train into Lancaster or along the coast . Also we'll equipped for a rainy day indoors , reading, games and jigsaws etc... A family holiday for all ages.

House was nice in a very quiet location.

Unfortunately for us as we booked a midweek break in October there was nowhere local to eat at night other than a fish and chip shop in the next village. The local pub was very quiet. We took 2 dogs so the lack of a garden was a problem.

Fantastic holiday home, very comfortable, well equipped and wonderful views.

This is a perfect location to get to the lakes and lovely surrounding villages. Two minute walk to the train station so perfect if you want to leave the car at home. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely cottage well equipped and maintained to a high standard.

Good quality furniture and furnishings. Comfortable beds and sofas . Very clean in all areas. The local convenience shop is 200yards away, they sell a good range of things you might have forgotten or run out of as well a newspapers . Great area to explore either by foot ,car or train ( the station is 200yards away) . Plenty of places to eat out in Cartmel , Flookburgh or the pub in Cark . Although cottage is close to the road, it isn’t a busy road with little or no traffic at night . Lovely stay , thank you

We had a lovely family get together at riverside view.

Plenty of space for the 7 of us and 2 dogs. the accommodation had everything we needed. Good walks nearby. Walked to the pheasant inn at allithwaite for a very nice meal out and also walked to Cartmel. Will definitely return.

Everything you could think of to make a weeks stay perfect. The countryside around this area is peaceful and perfect for dog walks but near enough to other towns and shops .

Lovely, clean, more than enough room for the 5 of us and the dog. The stream running along the back was lovely and views from the back windows were outstanding. Plenty amenities nearby and in a lovely village, we will definitely return.

Simply loved it

We spent Christmas at Riverside Cottage and it was better than we ever imagined.

It was warm and cosy and we walked in after an 8 hour drive to find it decorated for Christmas with a tree, mince pies, wine and milk in the fridge. It was much bigger than we thought and very well equipped, ideal for 6 of us with plenty of space for entertaining our family who live locally. The photos don't do it justice, we loved the comfort and many touches to make it homely. The utility room was a godsend with muddy dogs and walking boots and the extra snug a bonus. We walked up to Flookborough square for carols with a brass band on Christmas morning, came back to Riverside Cottage for lunch and it was just about perfect. Highly recommended, I would definitely go back.

Riverside View was equipped with everything we could have needed and more.

It was so relaxing looking out across the fields, from the kitchen window, with the river running below and the birds occasionally hopping onto the window sill. Sunday lunch at The Pheasant in Flookburgh was wonderful. Every room has so much space and despite the weather being bad all week we still had a lovely stay in a very comfortable holiday home.

Large, comfy lounge/dining area and well-equipped kitchen. Would be great for a long stay with loads of space/facilities to cope with wet gear, bikes, washing etc!! Warm, sunny weekend so none of this needed

Riverside view was a great place to stay, great location and really well presented cottage.

The addition of a downstairs toilet would make this a 5 star property.

Everything about the accommodation was first class throughout.

Except for one small thing, the kitchen being the hottest room in the house while cooking has a broken window and won’t stay up. If it could be fixed or replaced with a window that would open the place would again be fantastic. Full marks to the proprietors of the cottage. Pub was limited hours and sold non pub grub making it over priced. So no near by restaurants without driving. Thank you all.

Fabulous cottage.

Very well equipped, comfortable and in a great location. The only outside space is only a small yard and it is a little noisy as it is right by the main road but would definitely visit again.

We had a wonderful family break in Riverside View in April.

The cottage is beautiful, cosy and spotlessly clean. It is in a lovely location with the river running alongside. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need! Beds very comfortable. Pubs and a convenience store in walking distance. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Lovely cottage, spacious and really well equipped.

Lovely large lounge/diner. Clear instructions left. It was lovely and warm with loads of hot water. Fantastic views over the fields. Might be an idea to replace the mattress on the double bed but the singles were great. Very friendly local shop. All in all, a fab stay, despite the wet weather!

We had a great stay in the cottage.

Everything you need and the owners on hand if any problems (our kettle broke and we had a replacement within 15 mins!). Great location to visit all popular attractions such as Grange, Windamere, Ambleside, Ulverston etc. The engine Pub wasn’t serving food when we were there which was disappointing so check before you book if this is important to you. We found other pubs such as the Pheasant Inn near Flookbough and Cavendish Arms in Cartmel which were lovey and welcomed our dog too. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.

The house was lovely, warm and clean.

We had plenty of space, everything was well maintained and we felt/wished we could have stayed for much longer. The maps that were left were great for walks with the dogs and we were provided with any information we might need. We're already planning our next break!

Perfect place to stay.

Loads of space and very clean. I appreciated the instructional sheets with local amenities and wifi. The big table was ideal for our board game tournament.

This was a beautiful house well maintained lovely and warm, hot water all day with plenty of comfortable seating and a well stocked kitchen.

Riverside View was clean, comfortable, warm and very well equipped throughout, with all rooms of very good size.

The living areas had been very nicely decorated for the Christmas season, and the mince pies and Christmas cake went down very well! The location was perfect, with a very short walk to a well stocked local shop and to a pleasant pub. Parking was also straightforward. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again.

Ideal location to explore the lower Lakes.

Cottage is perfect for a group of 6- facilities excellent and very clean and well maintained. We brought two dogs- cottage ideal.

This really is a perfect base for a holiday.

The cottage is very clean and really cozy, plenty of lovely walks a very well stocked little shop. I think the measure is if we would stay again and it’s a definite yes.

The only problem I had was there wasn’t a good bus service only one a day I was told and there’s nothing going on in the village, you have to use your car or get a train which we did on a couple of occasions, the house was fine the only problem we had was the amount of fly’s coming in but it’s to be expected with the stream at the back of the house lovely views from the back window.

Beautiful view from the back windows lovely to sit at the kitchen table & have breakfast overlooking the stream Well appointed & the family liked the two sitting rooms & settees etc were comfortable The utility room & flooring throughout the ground floor was great for the dogs Village was pretty ,nice pub 2 minutes walk & handy mini market ..great walks to the shore & cartmel & near to the south lakes Only gave 4 *as the double bed & bedding were not comfortable & the en-suite was tiny but otherwise the family (& dogs!)had a great stay

We had a lovely stay at Riverside View for our first visit to the Lake District.

The cottage is lovely and a lot bigger than what it looks on the photographs with a lovely river to the back of the property with ducks which the kids enjoyed feeding in the morning. The property was very clean throughout and has laminate flooring which was ideal for our two small dogs who came with us. Would highly recommend.

Lovely large house in a fantastic location.

We were able to park the cars down the station approach (unclear where the allocated parking spot was). Short walk to the shop, the two pubs & the train station. The house has everything you need for a great holiday - comfy beds & settees, well equipped kitchen with a coffee maker, DVDs etc A lovely ‘starter pack’ of milk, biscuits, tea & coffee. Fantastic countryside views from the house. Just be aware that the only outside area attached to the property is an enclosed yard to the front of the house, but as you’re in The Lakes, plenty of lovely green open places to explore. We would not hesitate to rebook.

This Beautiful home is perfect, 7 friends on a 3 night stay, Engine pub just across the Rd with lovely staff and fabulous singer on on sat night.

Train station just 2 minute walk and one stop away to the lovely Ulverston. The cottage had everything we needed, location, clean and very comfortable, lots f space, beds are really comfortable.. We loved it so much we have booked for next year. Stunning.

A most enjoyable stay (again) at this lovely property.

Christmas tree and decorations were up and a welcome surprise of wine, cakes and mince pies. The cottage was lovely and clean. Only slight issue was again the lack of a bathroom blind as there was little privacy especially when dark.

Lovely house in an idyllic location.

Plenty of space and so nice to have a view of sheep in the fields and see the ducks on the river just under the back window. Our toddler loved it! Really comfortable and spacious.

The only outside area was,in fact, a back yard, not what I would describe as a patio We had to park about 50 yards away from the house.

In very good condition and well cleaned for our arrival. Cark is a great location for exploring - it's a lovely walk into Cartmel (although got taxi back after dark!) and perfect location for train station - we used the train for visits to Arndale & Grange over Sands, all very easy. All in all a lovely stay, we had a great week in this cottage & would recommend.

Our party comprised 3 adults, 4 children and a dog, and we enjoyed a very comfortable stay.

Plenty of room for 5 adults and a dog. The views were gorgeous but it would’ve been nice to have been able to access the river from the house, not just look out of the windows at it. This though is not a complaint, just a personal preference. Overall we had a very enjoyable holiday at Riverside View, highly recommended

Lovely house, spacious and spotless, amazing views from all back windows.

Ideal for our dogs as huge utility room and adjacent yard for sitting out, Excellent WiFi and a parking space, nothing more we require for a brilliant week. Lots of great places to eat in the area, particularly the Pheasant at Allithwaite and the courtyard at Holker Hall. We had a lovely quiet week.

Lovely cottage, liked sitting at the kitchen table overlooking the fields and river.

Comfortable lounge and well set up for dogs with hard floors through most of property. Excellent shower. Well appointed kitchen. One bedroom has a tiny en-suit which saved fighting for the bathroom. Good utility room for drying and feeding dogs. Small fully enclosed yard but no greenery except for small front garden. No off street parking, but plenty of parking nearby as road is busy. Close to pub and Fat Flower bakery in Flookburgh.

Great cottage, lots of space and a very well equipped kitchen.

DeLonghi coffee maker is a real bliss! Very fast WiFi, which rarely happens. No problem working or watching a movie. The pub a hundred yards away (The Engine Inn) serves very good food. The village is nice, not postcard-pretty but quite cosy and a good base for exploring the region.

The house was very well equipped and spotlessly clean.

We would definitely book to go there again.

This is a large and comfortable home from home in a quieter part of Cumbria.

Absolutely fabulous house, perfect for a large group or family.

The snug room is lovely for a little bit of peace and quiet. Large bedrooms, very comfy beds. Utility room ideal for the dog. Stream at the back with a few ducks on it. Nearby train station, pub and shop. Chip shop/Chinese in Flookburgh just a 10 min walk. Had a great time, and would recommend.

A beautiful cottage situated in an excellent location, close to railway station, two very good pubs 5 mins walk and local shop.

The cottage is perfect with everything supplied, very spacious and immaculately clean when we arrived. We have a lovely week here and will definitely return in the future, it was one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

We had a spacious, well equipped and comfortable cottage in a village with a shop, station and two nice pubs.

The pretty village of Cartmel and Holker Hall were in walking distance and the lakes were within an easy drive. We also had amazing weather. What's not to like!

My wife and I went with our son, his wife and eight months old baby, oh and two dogs.

The house was huge and with having two reception rooms we could do our own thing and not be tied to one room. With having an en suite bathroom in one of the bedrooms also gave us the opportunity to be together but not tied to one room. The facilities are fantastic, tv’s in each room, well equipped kitchen and utility room and a lovely view of the river to watch the ducks and ducklings swim by. Not many places give the chance of taking two dogs, so it was perfect for us. Highly recommended.

Excellent facilities in the cottage.

All set up and ready for use as soon as we arrived.

We chose this cottage because other family members had stayed there and raved about it.

How right they were! It is beautifully decorates and equipped with everything you could want a real home from home. Calk is a lovely little village and we found great walks on the door step along with the shop and 2 pubs ! Cartmel, Grange over Sands and Sizergh Castle well worth a visit. Would we recommend it yes. Will we come again definitely.

Absolutely fantastic holiday!

The photos of the cottage didn’t even do it justice! We had such a lovely time, only regret is we didn’t stay longer. The cottage has a fresh, modern interior and is situated in a gorgeous, friendly little village. Thanks for providing the perfect little getaway for a group of 21 year olds!

Celebrating my 60th birthday. The stream at the back of the property was home to wildlife, ducks and a kingfisher. The cottage was close to Grange over sands, windermere and the walking with wolves experience. Just the most perfect holiday Norma Cathrae

The house is perfect for six persons.

Traditional house with modern functional furniture, a very complete kitchen. Literally hundreds of maps, brochures and books in the house to help you prepare your excursions. Perfectly located for visiting the peninsulas and the Lake District. The owners are most helpful and live nearby.

Like a tardis inside - much bigger than it looks even in the photos. Lovely location with a shop, baker's and pubs being a stone's throw away. Owners very responsive and helpful. Will definitely recommend and hopefully return one day.

The cottage was probably as outlined so my views are pragmatic.

The lack of parking within the site,with 2 cars and no downstairs loo ,and a semi hip bath in the bathroom were the downsides.The property was clean,good kitchen/bedrooms and 2 sitting rooms. The area allows you to include the lakes and the coastal areas to the south and west.

Really lovely cottage but lets get the niggles out of the way 1st.

.. I would not say it had an enclosed garden. It had a yard and a narrow walled area in front of the property with no grass. Also think it could be made even more family friendly with a baby gate option and plastic crockery for young children. Now for the good stuff... clean, comfortable beautifil views, lots of helpful local info in the property too and a great base for adventuring the lakes. Also well situated - 2 local parks, pub, a bakery and shop. We had a great time. Thank you. X

Fantastic cottage.

Really clean and had everything we needed. Lovely location for walks. Our dog had a wonderful time exploring. Handy local shop for the every day essentials and a friendly local pub. Would definitely recommend.

There was no off-road parking as advertised, and my car got vandalised by drunk people passing by to reach the train station.

Lovely holiday in a pretty little village.

Lovely cottage but some furnishing ie seating and carpet in main lounge could do with updating. Kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking there.
