Rose Cottage

Had a great time staying at Rose Cottage .

Ideal home to base our Lakes holiday from with everything just as it was described. We highly recommend this holiday accommodation.

What a beautiful cottage!

Such a homely feeling to this property. Furnishings done brilliantly. The only downside was the parking, we didn’t realise how awkward it would be! Also, the description of the views is not very inaccurate. We wish it was of the stream / park! Unfortunately the main window looks right onto the local corner shop. The cottage is situated on a very busy road. Lovely walks near by, we managed to get right down to the estuary. Brilliant for our dog, who loved to explore! Prime locations all within an hour drive. Was an overall fab get away.

Lovely cottage with everything you need.

Beds really comfy , sky TV . Flounders chippy and Chinese next village 5 mins in car delicious

Excellent cottage.

Had everything you could ask for. 10out of 10

Really nice place to stay, had all we needed in there, was very clean.

Shame the Engine Inn wasn't the same that could do with a complete refurb. The only thing for us with being on a main road was it could have done with an extra fenced gate at the start of the house due to having dogs was always on alert in case the jumped over the wall and couldnt relax when sat outside apart from i would recommend this place.

The cottage is really comfortable with lots of little extras and attention to detail.

The location is fabulous for exploring the South Lakeland area the local walks are lovely. It was great to have the extra information about the local are in the welcome pack.

rose cottage was a beautiful place to stay in a lovely village which was a good base to tour the lake district.

the cottage had every thing you needed for a comfortable stay and a local shop opposite and play park for children next to it. it was more than we expected. our family had a fab time. my grand daughter misses her princess room on the top floor . would recommend this gem of a cottage to and family looking for a stay in the lakes and molly our dog loved it to. thanks

The cottage was lovely, very clean and was like a home from home.

It had everything we needed, the sachets of coffee, sugar, biscuits, milk etc was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend Rose cottage and would stop again. Parking outside the cottage was sometimes an issue but there was a small free car park practically over the road and this wouldn't stop us from booking again. We really enjoyed our stay here, thank you.

Amazing property

Simply lively accommodation.

Thank you for providing the extras - tea, coffee and milk. Lovely quiet location easy reach of lakes, mountain forest and shore. My children wanted to stay longer

What a wonderful cottage, large comfortable lounge, fully equipped modern kitchen, stunning bathroom with a bath and shower and the bedrooms had loads of storage and lovely comfortable beds.

The outside area was lovely and opposite the local shop. Will definitely return.

What a lovely cottage!

So spacious, and I couldn't believe the amount of storage space, so great. The beds were very comfy too and l loved the window seat in the main bedroom. The bathroom and kitchen both looked brand new. I would recommend this property to anyone.

A lovely cottage in a great location would highly recommend thus cottage, The owner was a very warm and knowledgeable man he gave us a few tip as how to get around and where to go.

The Marshalls

A beautiful, comfortable , well equipped cottage .

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Disappointed the The Engine inn wasn't serving food. Handy well stocked shop across the road . Lovely little village. Lots of nice local walks and easy to visit Holker hall.

Lovely cottage, very clean, comfortable and well presented.

Well equipped kitchen and friendly and helpful owners. Great spot for visiting the Morecombe Bay area with some great (not too strenuous) walks from the house. I would definitely recommend the cottage.

Loved our stay at Rose Cottage.

Ideally a blind could be fitted on the landing window outside tge bathroom other than that we had a lovely stay

Ideal location, spotlessly clean and everything we needed for a short break away.

Our second visit just as good as first time the only bad thing is parking not very good crossing road with suitcases and pets

Outstanding property.

Good location very well equipped cottage Loved every minute.

Fabulous cottage home from home well equipped with everything you would require for a very comfortable stay for four adults my granddaughter and baxter the dog.

Excellent location central for all South lakeland attractions. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Beautiful cottage , very clean, very well equipped, great location , felt very at home here , owners more than helpful when contacted .

Would deffo recommend. Could just have done with a harder mattress, but that’s just my opinion & by no way a complaint .

Had a lovely few days at Rose Cottage, convenient location, 5 mins from the railway station.

Cottage was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need. Some local walks for the dogs and written routes available in the cottage. It was an enclosed back yard but access was available through to the front of the cottage which meant a bigger dog could jump over the front wall, that said really enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

We spent 4 nights at Rose Cottage and enjoyed our stay there.

The location of the cottage is covenient for visiting Windermere and is very close to Holker Hall & Gardens. There is a small grocery store opposite to the cottage. Parking is off street; we didn't have any issue finding a parking space either in front of the cottage or in the neighbourhood. The cottage was tidy and spacious and had everything we needed. All the appliances are like new. There are also plenty of storage spaces in each bedroom. We'd recommend this cottage for visiting the Lake District.

Rose cottage was superb in every way.

We instantly felt at home, even our dog who tends to take a couple of days to settle, settled instantly. Great location for getting out and about the Lake District. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be returning next year. If you think the cottage looks good in the photos, it’s even better in real life

Exceptionally clean and comfortable cottage, with everything you could ask for in a holiday home.

There were no problems parking outside the cottage on the road and the courtyard at the back is a real sun trap. The location is great for the Lake District and the local area has many interesting places to visit. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Lovely setting.

Very well maintained cottage with great attention to comfort and all modern conveniences. Spacious and very well situated for easy short walks to Cartmel - highly recommended - and other destinations. Great pub and useful shop within 50 yards of front door. Very practical stay for dog owners. Would recommend without hesitation!

Home from home .

A lovely warm welcoming cottage , well equipped. Ideal location , walks from the door and not too far to explore other areas of the Lake District. Would definitely recommend.

It was a pleasure to stay yet again in a Sykes Cottage and Rose Cottage at Cark, certainly came up to the mark.

The cottage was warm as soon as we entered inside which was immaculate and clean, all the rooms were spacious and decorated to a high standard. The bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and lounge I could not fault and I look forward to returning! From our part of Lancashire to this part of the county is not to far for me to drive. Nigel J Dawson.

The accommodation was in an excellent position close to a local shop and a pub serving good food.

it was beautifully presented and had everything we needed.we will definitely stay again.

One of the best love it

Perfect location for visiting the Cark/Cartmel peninsula and South Lakeland area Off road parking Centre of Cark Upgraded but still charming 3 bed dog friendly cottage All amenities you need for a shirt or long stay Couldn’t fault it

A well presented and maintained cottage that made for a superb holiday.

Well located for visiting the lakes and other attractions in the area yet far enough away from the visiting masses. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

Lovely cottage, spotless.

Enjoyed the break with our dogs.

2nd time at this lovely cottage will book again top class

Fab cottage will book this again

I have stayed in many holiday cottages over the last 10 years since we got our first dog and I have never stayed in such a clean property.

Considering it was over 3 floors, the building was spotless!! The only shame was that we picked the house because it was close to a public house called the Engine Inn which took dogs and it was incredibly disappointing. The staff appeared drunk and despite serving food, they told us they weren't serving any more despite it being only 7pm. The staff were rude and unpleasant and it certainly spoilt one of our nights. Nothing to do with the house as it was perfect and would definitely visit again.

Excellent cottage.

It's even nicer than the photos show. Great location. Spotless. Would highly recommend.

Stayed in a few cottages in the same village.

The cottage is easy to locate and in a central position for the village and the surrounding shops, pubs, restaurants and a lovely artisan bakery in the square. Extremely clean and well equipped with everything you need to feel comfortable and relaxed. As the property is old the bedrooms are across 2 floors with a steep staircase to the twin and single room. All the bedrooms are spacious with plenty of wardrobe and draw space. There is no parking which may be an issue for some people, although there are places to park on the main road and on the side roads close to the property. Perfect location to visit many places on foot if you want to take advantage of the surrounding countryside, Grange-over-Sands,Holker Hall and Cartmel. Perfect location for us visiting Cartmel Races on the Sunday, would certainly book again.

Loved our stay at Rose Cottage.

Fab area with shop and pub on the doorstep. Great walks for the dogs. Never a problem to park. The house was immaculate, beautifully decorated, clean and had everything we needed. Thanks for the extra touches of milk, tea and biscuits and the routes for a some local walks . Had some great days out in the Lakes, only regret is we should have booked in for longer!

Fantastic cottage, was lovely having all the extra bits in like cloths, dishwasher tabs, tea towels etc.

plenty of room and beds comfy. Very nice little welcome pack too, needed a cuppa by the time we got there. All the little extras really make a difference. I would definitely recommend staying here. We will definitely be back. Thankyou

We loved our time at Rose Cottage and would recommend it highly to other visitors.

We felt enormously welcome from the moment we entered. The owners had made every effort to create a warm home for us - thoughtfully providing a bottle of wine, delicious titbits and lovely Christmas decorations (including a tree!) in addition to "necessities" such as tea bags and milk. The cottage is very comfortably furnished and extremely well-equipped with everything you could want for a delightful stay. We left a coat behind and the owners immediately contacted us to arrange to return it. We are really grateful for their thoughtfulness in this respect.

The property was very nice, clean and had everything you need.

We had lots of rain so we enjoyed Sky & Netflix & WiFi. It has very steep stairs to get upstairs to bedrooms & toilett so not great for very small children or old people. But really comfy, clean and well equipped cottage. Lovely village to walk around, however the road can be very busy. The Engine Inn wasn't very friendly unfortunately and you do have to book in advance even mid week if you want to dine there. The shop opposite is very convenient and friendly. The Holker Hall is beautiful and lovely to visit and their afternoon tea is massive and tasty. Grange is not far and lovely walk on promenade. Windermere lake is close and worth to take the boat ride around the lake. We had a very wet but lovely stay. The only thing I missed in the property was some instructions about bins? Or recycling instructions? Took us a bit to find the main bin.

Lovely wee house.

Nicely and comfortably furnished and right at heart of the village. There's a shop and a pub right across the road. Kitchen had everything we needed though with 4 of us there was just enough room round the table in the kitchen! We had two dogs with us and there is easy access to country lanes for walking and fresh air.

Overpriced and single mattresses were uncomfortable but very nice property otherwise.

Lovely property, great open lounge/downstairs area.

Also loved the outsode table/picnic bench area. Only minor gripe was that the beds were too soft/wobbly for us. A firmer, less mobile mattress would maybe be better.

Lovely cottage, great location.

We would definitely stay again.

Cottage was amazing and had everything you needed, left maps of walks for us Would definitely return and recommend to others

Everything was lovely - super clean, everything we needed.

Spacious, light house. Quiet attractive village and near many lovely places on the coast and in Lake District. The owners were very helpful - came immediately to sort out small heating setting glitch.

The cottage is lovely - it’s cozy, very clean, got everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Location is great too. The hosts left us some provisions which were much appreciated and set the heating so it was warm all day. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back. Lovely break.

A fantastic holiday home with plenty of space for a family of five and a dog.

Great location; local shop opposite, friendly pub, walks on your doorstep and only a short drive to Lake Windermere.

Rose Cottage was a fantastic base for our family holiday.

The cottage had everything we needed and was in the perfect location for exploring the Lakes. Thank you!

Beautiful property, great location the accommodation had everything we needed, the owners had thought of everything.

Exceptional cottage in a great location

This cottage was in immaculate condition - everything in there seemed brand new, it was extremely clean and well kept, very modern decor and appliances.

Overall was a fantastic place to stay, great location and we would definitely recommend!
