The property

This semi-detached cottage is centrally located in the Cumbrian village of Cark-in-Cartmel.

At Rose Cottage there is a king-size double bedroom, a twin and a single room, spread across the upper two floors.

The cosy sitting room will welcome your return after a day of exploring the Lake District, complete with two sofas and armchairs, plus a Smart TV so you can catch up on your favourite shows.

The modern kitchen is fitted with all the appliances you could need for a short break, along with a dining table for mealtimes.

To the outside is a sunny patio area where you can sip on a refreshing beverage whilst the taking the peaceful surroundings.With the Lake District National Park a short drive away and the Cumbria Coast to explore, Rose Cottage is an excellent base, any time of year.

Cark In Cartmel Cottages

Cark in Cartmel Cottages are a delightful collection of traditional Cumbrian cottages on the edges of the popular Lake District National Park. This terrific trio offer both character and contemporary features, giving guests an authentic Cumbrian break whilst enjoying the comforts of home. Wander into the village of Cark where you will find a general shop which is handy for picking up any essentials, and a fine, cosy pub The Engine Inn, which serves traditional pub grub. From the property there are several splendid walks through the countryside and along the river bank - a truly picturesque scene packed with wildlife. Why not savour a taste at the famous sticky toffee pudding shop before venturing on a countryside walk to use up those extra calories? There is also a local railway station which runs up the west coast making an interesting and picturesque day out, allowing you to enjoy the coast line to Barrow-In-Furness, or in the opposite direction explore the popular Grange-over-Sands overlooking Morecambe Bay. Two miles away is Cartmel, home to a collection of small shops, pubs and restaurants, and also a famous racecourse which thrives in the summer. Adding to your sightseeing itinerary is the popular Lake District National Park, reached by a short and scenic drive and the home to the bustling towns of Bowness and Ambleside, along with some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. Bring along your bikes and take a nice long ride up to and around Lake Windermere, and when you're done, return to your inviting cottage to rest and recover. Cark in Cartmel is a small Lakeland village just two miles from Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Cark is well served by the Furness line railway, and features pretty streamside strolls, lovely walks to the local coastline overlooking Morecambe Bay, two fine traditional old pubs and a scattering of small shops. It is a very short stroll from here to Holker Hall, the stately home of Lord Cavendish, whose house, gardens and deer park are open to the public and also now home to a licensed brasserie The Ilex. Take advantage of excellent walking opportunities amidst beautiful unspoilt countryside or visit The National Hunt Racecourse, the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition and the Lakeland Motor Museum, all close by.
