“This is a beautiful property with a 5 minute walk on the flat to the Priory, shops and lots of really good places to eat.”

The electric aga is a learning curve, but there is an excellent microwave/oven/grill. Everything is supplied with some lovely treats. Cartmel is a very pretty village with a strong reputation for food. Grange is nearby with more shops and a lovely walk along the front looking over Morcambe bay. It is within easy reach of the Lake District. We spent a lovely day at Holker Hall, beautiful gardens.

Benefit from a private driveway upon your arrival, where you can unload your belongings with ease, before stepping indoors, storing your boots and coats in the utility room adjacent to the hallway. Make your way to the open-plan living space, a hub for socialising, complete with a fully-equipped kitchen with a charming AGA, a dedicated dining area, and a plush corner sofa, resting in front of the woodburning stove. The village of Cartmel is a wonderful place to explore; take a stroll through the cobbled streets, visit the quaint independent shops, sample the local ale in the pubs, or some of the delicious food at L'Enclume, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant, and Rogan and Co, offering seasonal, British fare; a haven for foodies. Cartmel Racecourse and Cartmel Priory are also worth a visit, before sampling the local delicacy of the sticky toffee pudding! Head just a few miles down the road to the Victorian seaside town of Grange-over-Sands; here you can take a leisurely walk along the promenade, explore the stunning Lakeland scenery, and visit the many art galleries, tearooms, and clothing boutiques.
