Cartmel Racecourse and Cartmel Priory are also worth a visit, before sampling the local delicacy of the sticky toffee pudding! Head just a few miles down the road to the Victorian seaside town of Grange-over-Sands; here you can take a leisurely walk along the promenade, explore the stunning Lakeland scenery, and visit the many art galleries, tearooms, and clothing boutiques. Take a little more of a drive and you’ll arrive in Bowness on Windermere, the most popular resort on Lake Windermere, where you can enjoy a picnic along the shores of the lake, admire the spectacular views of the Lakeland Fells, or take a cruise on Lake Windermere itself.
