Gosling Cottage

Gosling Cottage was a lovely place for our break.

Angela has created a very thoughtful and considered space with lots of little touches that made our stay very special. The cottage is designed to make the most of the available space so everything is catered for from a multitude of coffee making devices to extra blankets for the dog, rechargeable torches, a record player with great selection of vinyl….the list just goes on.

Beautiful cottage, literally has EVERYTHING you can imagine.

Impressive that there isn’t the standard self catering few sachets of coffee, full jar provided as with other thoughtful items herbs/spices etc, locally produced items too - love it. There are modern aspects to the cottage but wholly vintage for the rest, it’s amazing especially the record player and array of albums, totally my vibe ❤️kitchen is so well equipped even includes cake baking cases!! Impressed at the wireless phone charger/stand in the bedroom. Bath is to die for so luxurious. A major plus point is the eco friendly products within the cottage, we loved the ethos of the owners. We do n’t drive so accessed day trip to Windermere and further to Bowness on Windermere via train (5 mins walk). A bus from Windermere costs £3 per single journey, we jumped in an uber to Bowness on Windermere as it was cheaper for 2 of us. There are fab transport links in both Kendal and Windermere if you’re going further the £3 max fare is cost effective. Communication with Angela was fabulous, she really cares about her guests, the welcome card and gifts were embraced and it was such a caring thing to do. It was our first time in Kendal and because of the superb accommodation in a beautiful area we will return without a doubt.

Gosling Cottage was a great find.

Tucked away along a little lane, within walking distance to the main part of town (Kendal). The cottage has everything you need and more; cosy living room, well equipped kitchen, great bathroom and a comfortable bed after long days walking and exploring. So many things to do. Thanks Angela; we’d love to return in the future x

We loved Gosling Cottage.

It's quiet and peaceful yet just a short walk to the town centre. It's well furnished - the owner has literally thought of everything, a real home from home. Dogs are truly welcome here too! There are bowls and beds should you need them and a well stocked treat jar. We would definitely recommend Gosling Cottage if you're looking for a dog friendly place to stay.

The owners attention to detail was outstanding and the facilities were lovely. We had some foodie extras and the smellies were a real treat. Perfect.

Our weekend in Kendal was made all the better by this beautiful little cottage!

It has such a welcoming and cosy atmosphere with so many cute little details and arty touches. We felt well looked after by the lovely Angela! We spent our evenings reading in the afternoon sun in the little front garden surrounded by flowers and friendly neighbours (and their dogs), or listening to their fabulous record collection while cooking dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

Gosling Cottage has to be one of the best cottages I have stayed in for many years.

The attention to detail with decor and provision of things you might use or need during your stay went beyond expectations. The owner was in touch and super helpful. Location is a short level walk into Kendal so very close to shops and restaurants etc. The guide in the cottage is comprehensive and came in handy when we were looking for some local walks. The rear courtyard is shared but had no issues and its secure. The front is not secure for dogs. My only complaint, and I understand its personal preference, but the mattress was very soft and so not very comfortable for us. Everything else was spot on! Highly recommend Gosling Cottage.

It's location is perfect for spending time exploring Kendal on foot and also further afield in the car. The cottage is decorated to a high standard with lovely finishing touches, just as the pictures show and it ticked every one of our wish list boxes. To top it off the toiletries and thoughtful additions for our arrival really made this stay a very special one. Couldn't fault anything and would book again. Thank you

I stayed here from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day and I couldn’t recommend enough.

It was so homely and cosy and decorated so lovely and festive. It was easy to find and finding nearby parking wasn’t a problem. The host messaged me before and was very helpful with anything I needed and checked in with me during my stay. The cottage was honestly better equipped than my own home and the hosts have thought of absolutely everything. It was lovely and clean and I couldn’t recommend enough. Thank you

We had the most gorgeous stay at this beautiful one-bedroom cottage in Kendal.

It was clear how much thought and care had gone into every detail. The cottage itself is lovely — cosy, stylish, and very comfortable, it felt like a real home away from home. We travelled with our two dogs, and it was perfect for them too. The host had thoughtfully included lots of lovely little extras, including local welcome gifts. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the whole place had such a relaxing atmosphere. Communication from the host was excellent throughout — friendly, helpful, and responsive. Location is perfect and only a very short walk to the town. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and beautifully presented getaway in Kendal.

This beautiful little cottage was great for our couples getaway.

It had everything we needed and more. Its location was ideal for a short walk into Kendal town centre, where there were ample shops, restaurants and pubs. The bed and bedding were gorgeously comfortable. The cottage was as warm and welcoming as the host Andrea who was very friendly and helpful. We will be coming back here. 100% recommend, you will not be disappointed.

Gosling Cottage is a lovely place.

We stayed in January, and it was nice and warm inside. The bed is very comfortable—not too soft, but not too firm either—and the bedding is beautiful. The cottage is really quiet and has good blinds. I’m a sensitive sleeper and didn’t need earplugs or a sleep mask at all. It’s very clean and well equipped: a hairdryer, garment steamer, bathrobes, and even a pair of spare slippers. The kitchen has an air fryer, blender, microwave, Velvetiser, toaster, and all the pans you might need. The knives are decent and well sharpened. The only thing we didn't find was a baking tray. Angela is a wonderful host—kind and thoughtful—and she’s done an amazing job making Gosling Cottage not only comfortable but also a pleasure to stay in, even on a rainy day. She added lots of extra touches, such as a record player and plenty of games and books to keep guests entertained. I can't praise the host or the place highly enough!

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Gosling Cottage.

A beautiful, cosy and very well equipped holiday home, we wanted for nothing. It is situated on a very quiet lane yet only a few minutes walk into the centre of Kendal, lots of bars and cafes which we also enjoyed. A really big shout out to Angela for being such a thoughtful and caring host. We loved our stay. ❤️

Fabulous stay in the most gorgeous cottage.

Everything was good quality, from the white fluffy towels, diffusers, cotton bedding to the fresh coffee & local products. Easy walking distance to the station enabling ease of movement around the Lakes. Great communication from Angela ensuring our stay was stress free. A real gem of a property

The cottage was an absolute dream.

It had everything you need and the guide provided was very helpful with local walks. The bathtub was an absolute luxury. I had my dog with my and Angela was amazing to provide a bed, bowls and treats for her. The location was perfect to explore Kendal with everything within walking distance. We would.love to stay again!

Beautiful cottage, immaculate clean and close to town centre.

Lots of products provided in the kitchen and bathroom and some tasty treats.

Gosling cottage is situated down a quiet lane yet only an easy five minutes walk to the centre of Kendal.

The property was very tasteful and stylishly decorated throughout, spotlessly clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The bedroom was spacious with a beautifully comfortable bed. The bathroom, what can I say, unique and luxurious. Fabulous. The collection of goodies was also thoughtful and was much appreciated. Angela the owner was lovely, especially as I had accidentally locked ourselves out on arrival and Angela had to come to our rescue, and she couldn’t have been nicer. This was a gem of a cottage which we would highly recommend and would love to return.

Cottage was lovely, clean and had everything we needed, only draw back was the parking issues due to ongoing flood defence work but the owners had already informed us of this, so we could plan ahead, would definitely come back to this cottage when visiting family.

Gosling Cottage is an absolute gem.

Its location is perfect, with shops and restaurants within walking distance and beautiful outdoors to explore. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and there's a loaded information folder with lots of tips for walks and places to visit. We also enjoyed the complimentary coffee and soap supply, all locally sourced and produced. The owner is very helpful too. We loved every minute of our stay.

Good info folder and instructions on how to work appliances and gadgets ! No problems at all whilst we stayed. Good quiet location but shops and town within walking distance. Do chose this cottage as totally worth it !

In a great location. The cottage has everything you need. Great location to the town and plenty of places to eat. Loads of places to walk if you have a dog. The owner was very nice and nothing was a problem if you needed any help or information. Would recommend. We will be back to stay again soon

Quiet cottage, easy walk to Kendal centre.

All things thought of for humans and dog. A pint of milk, cookies and more to get you set up until you can get further supplies. Comfortable and clean, little touches that made this much better than most. Excellent for us. Only downside would be if you have mobility problems, stairs fairly steep and bathside high for showering, getting in and out, parking a short distance away

What a gem of a property.

Very welcoming, very clean, lovely welcome gifts, locally sourced. Beautiful decor, immaculately maintained. Very comfortable bed, high quality bed linen. Provided both firm and soft pillows. So many extras included for example, plentiful supplies of environmentally friendly kitchen cleaning products, washing up liquid, cloths, dishwasher tablets, and in the fabulous, immaculate and very luxurious bathroom there was lots of high quality shampoo, shower gel and bath salts. plus cleaning products and loo roll. So many thoughtful extras were available, including a tower fan as the weather was very warm, a Neom diffuser in the bedroom created a very restful environment and i loved the record player and vintage LP's in the sitting room. Dogs were well provided for too with poo bags treats bowls and bed available and a sticky roller to remove any stray dog hairs if needed. The location is brilliant for its proximity to Kendal village, parking very nearby was easily found and loads of fabulous places to visit within easy reach. All in all a perfect holiday venue .Thankyou to the owners for your thoughtfulness.

Gosling Cottage is a lovely place to stay, cosy and comfortable, in the centre of Kendal, within walking distance of the town centre, and plenty of choices to eat nearby.

If you are eating in, the cottage has everything you should need. A great location for exploring the Lake District. Dog Friendly too, which made my stay ideal having my Bichon Frise with me.

Gosling Cottage is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in by far.

It is a cosy and charming place filled with exceptional finishing touches and makes for a perfect home from home. Location wise it is perfect. A stones throw from Kendal train station and a 5 minute walk to the bus station. If you want to explore Kendal Castle remains or do some shopping they are all within easy walking distance too. Angela the host has prepared a great information pack that includes walking routes and maps, places to eat, visit, everything! They were also a pleasure to deal with from the very beginning and I have to say they are everything you want in a holiday cottage owner. Hospitable, accommodating and friendly. We hope to return soon. A real 5star cottage.

We’ve stayed in quite a few cottages over the years, but this was genuinely one of the loveliest.

Every detail had been carefully thought through – from the treats left out for our dog to the gorgeous hamper for our daughter, which made it feel really special. My husband particularly enjoyed using the velvetiser each evening – such a lovely touch in the kitchen! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was beautifully designed, with a real sense of luxury. We would absolutely love to return in the future. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

A home from home.

. In fact lovelier in every way. We were bowled over how lovely this cottage is. Angela the host went the extra mile in every department. Thank you for the amazing local produce. Fab coffee, plush beer, gorge handsoap, scummy Mint cake that helped us get up Bow Fell and thanks even for the fancy loo roll. Very comfy bed and pillow (I have never been able to find a comfy pillow.. ever!) . Decor fantastic and right up my partners street. Best bathroom we've ever been in. Congrats on being our best host ever!

Faboul cottage and great location just a short 5 to 10 minutes stroll to the town centre.

The cottage is perfectly lovely with everything you need for a home from home stay. The decor throughout is just beautiful with a very cosy living room, well equipped kitchen and the bedroom is very spacious with a super comfy bed and a much needed fan, as we had cracking weather. The bathroom is something else, again very spacious with fabulous fixtures and fittings. The owners have thought of everything to make sure you have a great stay, including various shampoos, body washes, moisturiser and loads of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and some lovely goodies for our arrival. We had a brilliant few days and could definitely have stayed longer in the wonderful Gosling Cottage. A HUGE thank you to the owners, you have a really special place.

Had everything we needed. Super location in centre of Kendal! We took our little 7 month old and the owner was really thoughtful and did us a little pack of everything we might need for her, so we didn’t have to take as much with us which was a massive help! The bathroom was the bathroom of dreams, love he roll top bath! Would recommend to friends & family, and would visit again! Thank you!

This is a very homely and cosy cottage.

It is beautifully decorated and well equipted in the kitchen. The owner went out of her way to make it welcoming. Beautiful vases of roses in the bedroom and the kitchen. The cottage is near to the town centre. Off the main roads, so it is very quiet (Kendal's traffic is very busy.) Bed very comfortable with lovely Egyptian cotton duvet covers and sheets. Very snug. The owner is readily available by phone if you need anything. We had a lovely stay. Highly recommend.

A real gem!

Gosling cottage was extremely well equipped. It had everything you could want or need and more. Very clean and tidy. The owners have obviously spent a great deal of time, thought and effort into making the cottage a home from home with added touches of luxury you do not expect to find in a rental property. It was in a very quiet location within walking distance of Kendal town centre. Although there is no parking on site we easily found a parking spot close by. We would not hesitate to return to Gosling cottage on our next visit to Kendal.

We had a lovely stay at the Gosling cottage.

We brought a 3month old baby and the host was very caring and helpful and had left us a lot of baby 'gear' so we didnt need to travel with lots of extras. The cottage is very well looked after and feels very considered (amenities, books, art). Location is handy too. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

This cottage was absolutely beautiful and so close to Windermere and other Lake District attractions.

The cottage itself was quaint and decorated lovely. Only a could of small things, the fridge doesn't seem to be functioning to its full potential and also it gets very hot upstairs of an evening so potentially providing a fan for the bedroom is a good idea? However overall the cottage was beautiful and we had a really lovely time.

Just back from a 3 night stay at Gosling Cottage.

We had a fabulous time. It’s equipped with everything you could possibly need. It’s cosy - comfy - clean - we just loved it. Walking distance to town centre. And the recommended pubs were just great. Family dog friendly places. Lovely walks on your doorstep too. Hosts were super helpful and friendly giving tips and advice before we even arrived. Above and beyond I would say. Would 100% recommend a stay here - you’ll love it!

We absolutely loved our stay in this charming, cosy and comfortable cottage.

The owners had put so much thought in to providing everything we could need - and a few 'goodies' to boot! We loved all the quirky touches making this a special place to stay. And it's situated within easy walking distance of Kendal town centre, surrounded by wonderful walking country. We especially recommend the weird and wonderful topiary garden at Levens Hall - the oldest in the world!
