“What can I say about Hollowgill barn.”

Certainly, one of the best holiday rentals I have ever stayed in. It ticked all of my boxes. There were useful YouTube shorts on how to use appliances and helpful information from the owners before we arrived, no question was left unanswered and they responded so quickly. Certainly, one of the best holiday rentals I have ever stayed in. It ticked all of my boxes. There were useful YouTube shorts on how to use appliances and helpful information from the owners before we arrived, no question was left unanswered and they responded so quickly. The lane up to the barn was easy to navigate with a low suspension car if you are able to raise your suspension which we could. The barn itself was spotless on arrival, the layout was well thought out with the bedrooms on the lower floor which really helped with sleeping (we stayed with the heatwave week of over 30 degrees). The games room was a fantastic touch and we used it many times over the week. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you require if you want to cook big meals. Fresh eggs can be ordered directly to the barn too. There are plenty of walks to do directly from the barn and Sedbergh is only 3.9miles across the fields on the Pennine Journey. The location is perfect for peace and tranquility in such a picturesque setting. We enjoyed coffee alfresco each morning just soaking up the 360 degrees views. My husband found the electric charger for the car worked like a treat. It is untethered, so you will need to bring your own cable. Would highly recommend and we will be booking this rental again in the future.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review - we’re really delighted you enjoyed your stay at Hollowgill Barn and that everything worked so well for you. We especially appreciate your kind comments about the communication, the facilities, and the setting. Just to let you know for future planning, we will be moving into the barn ourselves from 1st April 2027 and will no longer be offering it as a holiday let after that date. If you were hoping to return before then, we would be very happy to welcome you back again. Thank you again for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. Property Owner

About the location

SEDBERGH

Kendal 11.5 miles; Kirkby Lonsdale 11.8 miles, Hawes 15.8 miles.

The attractive old market town of Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), with its old-world atmosphere, is not only set in the magnificent western dales of the Yorkshire Dales National Park but is also close to the rugged eastern fells of the Lake District. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, famous school dating back to 1525 and its 12th century church, has been a thriving community for hundreds of years, with a market dating from the 13th Century. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry-stone walls, stretching 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with its cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times and nearby Dent railway station is on the renowned Settle-Carlisle railway line. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, and fishing, and the area is a paradise for walkers, ramblers, runners, and cyclists. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys, the two National Parks and it being England's book town, makes an ideal year-round holiday destination.

Note: No stag/hen parties, or similar.
