    “Second stay at side house farm.”

    Stunning as every and a home from home in a beautiful valley. The house is very clean and well kept, with everything needed for a week or two away. Beds are comfy, providing a perfect night's sleep. Emily was very accommodating allowing us to feed Ethel and Edna, the highland cows. Looking forward to visiting again next year and hopefully meeting the expanded herd.

Boasting breathtaking countryside and mountain views, this stunning 400-year-old home is perfect for families and friends wishing for a secluded and quiet retreat.

Be welcomed into this lovely abode to find a homely sitting room where you'll curl up by the woodburning stove with a good book or while you watch TV.

In the well-equipped kitchen you'll cook up your favourite meals to enjoy with your loved ones around the dining table.

Langdale Farm Houses consists of a duo of beautiful and rustic farm house conversions resting in the gorgeous village of Langdale in Cumbria. These 400-year-old homes boast a bucolic and serene setting, breathtaking mountain views and a woodburning stove making them ideal bases for families, friends and couples seeking a quiet and relaxing escape. The houses are wonderfully located with lots of well-known walks from the doorstep including the Old Dungeon Ghyll, Langdale Pike, Bow Fell and Scafell Pike. If you don't feel like cooking treat yourselves to some delectable pub grub at Lanty Slee's Langdale @ Stickle Barn or a lighter lunch at Brambles Cafe. Take a trip back in time with a visit to Wordsworth Grasmere where you can enter the famous poet’s actual home Dove Cottage, browse round the museum and take a stroll round the garden-orchard and the surrounding woodlands. LANGDALE

Ambleside 5.6 miles; Coniston 7.3 miles; Grasmere 9.7 miles.

Often referred to as Great Langdale, to distinguish it from nearby Little Langdale, Langdale's name comes from the Old Norse for 'long valley'. Langdale is a u-shaped valley formed by glaciers. It encompasses the two villages of Chapel Stile and Elterwater, as well as the hamlet of High Close. Set in the centre of the Lake District, Langdale is probably best known for its mountains, from the Langdale Pikes – a group of mountains on the northern side of the village – to England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Rock climbers will also love Raven Crag, Gimmer Crag and White Ghyll. There Not surprisingly Langdale is also famous for it’s spectacular views, including Dungeon Ghyll Force Waterfall, Harrison Stickle and Pike of Stickle. it is an extremely popular holiday destination and loved by hikers, climbers, fell runners and lovers of the outdoors in general.
