Lovely modern cottage conversion with good facilities.

Close to the village pub and well connected to explore the area. Great hosts who are kind and accommodating.

We stayed at this holiday rental for a short break and had a great experience.

The property was clean and had everything we needed, with thoughtful extras provided by the owner. The owner was very helpful. The only thing we personally missed was a dishwasher, but that's just our preference and didn't take away from an otherwise enjoyable stay. It's a lovely base for exploring the area, and there's a great local pub nearby. We would stay here again.

The cottage is fabulous, clean, comfortable and well maintained.

The area is stunning with fantastic view from the garden. We were fortunate as the weather was great. This is a great location for walking and experiencing Hadrians wall. Eddie and Kath are so welcoming and friendly. We was provided with a fabulos welcome pack which was very much appreciated. For anyone who wants to book a break in Cumbria, I would highly recomend this cottage.

Enclosed garden fabulous but a (very) short walk which meant coats and shoes for letting the dog out am and pm.

Wouldn’t change the fact that I would go back but helpful to be aware. Owner really welcoming as were those at the village pub - would highly recommend.

Fabulous welcome and very much appreciated the food items provided for our arrival - enjoyed the fresh tomatoes too.

Very comfortable place and although a fair amount of head ducking was required upstairs the barn worked very well for us and had all the up to date amenities we needed. Very well thought out. Very happy to recommend it.

We absolutely loved Stable Cottage!

The open plan design made the downstairs' kitchen/dining/living area spacious and convenient. It’s smart but practical and had everything we needed for a home from home. Although the bathroom is small (watch your head) the shower is excellent. Beautiful views from the large vellux windows in the bedrooms are inspiring and the dark skies and quiet location meant we slept well all week. I had been concerned that the pretty enclosed garden wasn’t attached to the house, in order to let our dog roam in and out. However, the front allowed us to park two cars and secure the gate. So with fabulous walks in any direction, our young energetic terrier was safe and happy. Without doubt, Stable Cottage is one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. The owners are unobtrusive, relaxed, and possibly the nicest people ever. I didn’t want to leave!

Good location for Hadrian's Wall and North Cumbria. Local Pub and community shop/cafe in a short walking distance.

Booked at the last minute we were delighted by Stable Cottage.

It was easy to find and very well placed for exploring Hadrian's Wall and the Lakes. The cottage was spotless and beautifully appointed. Owner Eddie was very friendly and the welcome package was very generous. We had pretty terrible weather so having a very good tv with Netflix was a bonus in the evenings. Also the combination of no light pollution and very good blinds and beds gave us all very good nights sleeps. Only slight niggles were that the back garden wasn't attached to the house it was across a shared drive and through a hidden gate so you couldn't just let the dog out the back door. Also the sloping ceilings upstairs could be problem for families taller than us. All in though a fabulous short break. Thank you

We spent a lovely week at Stable Cottage in August.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The biscuits, milk etc. waiting for us on arrival was a nice touch, as was the visit from Eddie halfway through our stay to check on us and bring us some home grown tomatoes! The cottage location was very handy for popping into Carlisle, as well as trips to Vindolanda and further afield. We'll definitely be back!

An immaculately clean and well-presented cottage.

The cottage has all the basic amenities and features that we would require, plus plenty of extras. An example being a smart TV with Netflix and other features available. The cottage’s owner was very friendly and helpful, and we were left a welcome package of food which included a generous fruit bowl. Eddie also popped round with some homegrown tomatoes which were delicious. Whilst not located in one of the honeypot villages of the area, the cottage is located in a village that is well placed for most of the many local attractions, including walking on Hadrian‘s Wall. There is a pub close by which serves food, and a wonderful local community shop and cafe, the Hallbankgate hub. We would definitely return.

This is a great little cottage, with everything you could need and it is immaculately clean.

A lovely warm welcome from the owner, with a lovely welcome package too. The cottage is very well located for exploring Cumbria, Northumberland and we even managed Dumfries and Galloway too.

Our stay at Stable Cottage was excellent the best ever with all the goodies provided and our hosts were there for everything we needed and the outside area in the garden was great!

Stable cottage is the perfect place to stay for visiting the area.

Facilities are excellent and the pub is a short walk for a drink in the evening. Could you provide some small glasses for juice etc when we return in July.

Lovely cottage, lovely little village, everything you need is supplied, very comfortable, Thank you Eddie for the provisions you supplied, was a lovely touch to get the Lindor bunnies for Easter, they were delicious, Eddie is always there if you need any help with anything, it was a lovely week

I stayed at Stable Cottage for a short break in October.

It is very well equipped and Eddie is nearby if you need anything. The welcome pack of bread, fruit, cake and chocolate biscuits was a nice touch. Also the Smart TV with Netflix included. Everything is clean and new and I enjoyed relaxing at Stable Cottage after each day walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path. Hope to make a return visit.

Fabulous little property, well maintained in a beautiful part of the country.

Well placed to explore the surrounding area, with the nearby market town of Brampton full of amenities. The Stable had everything you could need. Low ceiling height upstairs may be an issue if you are 6ft tall!!! Eddie the owner greeted us on arrival and came to check we were warm enough,following a cold snap. Highly recommend The Stable as a holiday home.

The cottage has everything you could need and is very cosy in every way. Fruit cake, milk, biscuits and a huge bowl of fruit greeted us on arrival. Eddie is a very friendly and helpful caretaker and is just 15metres away if needed. Hallbankgate is a beautiful village with a community cafe and nice pub a very short walk away. The outlook from the cottage is striking with the massive north Pennine hills a few minutes away. I would not hesitate to stay at the cottage again and strongly recommend it.
