“A truly wonderful stay at, what we both agreed, was the best accommodation we’ve stayed in, in the Lakes, and we’ve stayed in many!”
Chris and Julie couldn’t have been more helpful, both up to and during our stay, taking the time to give some useful tips for the area. The area itself is idyllic, in the far eastern part of the lakes, so a lot less busy and unspoilt than the tourist hotspots. Beautiful local walks include Kentmere, Longsleddale and the two tarns, at the top of the mountain (Gurnal Dubs and Potter) which you look out to. Eating out, a great choice of pubs, within half an hour, Punch Bowl and Black Labrador to name but two. Stavely yard is also well worth a visit, particularly the More Artisan Bakery, for excellent food, especially the breakfasts.
The accommodation itself has that perfect balance between modern luxury and character, with clearly a lot of thought put into the layout and finish and with everything you need for your stay. You even have your own access to the River Sprint, with a beautiful paddling/swimming spot just on the bridge as you drive in.
All in all, a superb week. Already booked for next year.
