Holme Fell

A wonderful house, so light and roomy, with astonishing views.

We were so comfortable, and the house is equipped with everything needed for cooking, bathing, sleeping and relaxing. Great for four friends sharing. We particularly loved the conservatory and balcony overlooking a very pretty garden, with mature shrubs and trees. The view of the Old Man of Coniston from the front windows was stunning, and only a 5 minute stroll to the pretty village, with all we needed. Thank you.

Had a lovely stay even though the weather wasn't very good We did have a few issues, the water pressure for the upstairs showers was very low and taken ages to have a shower but the main problem was no outside light which was a nightmare for our elderly dogs to go out at night we knew there was lots of steps into the garden which wasn't the problem but we had to stand out on the decking with a torch but still struggling to see the dogs and them see us , also the steps was a bit slippery when wet too , but on the upside the property was lovely and clean with comfortable beds and close to the amenities of Coniston

Holme Fell is a beautiful property set in a pretty village.

It is surrounded by stunning scenery with lots of activities to do within a very short distance. It suited our three generation family (plus two dogs) perfectly! The house is well equipped with everything you could need, it is in a quiet setting and yet within a stone’s throw of the village amenities. A perfect holiday home.

Lovely house, great location.

Host very quick to help us out. Our only issues were kitchen equipment - only 7 forks for a property that sleeps 8! Limited normal water glasses- a number were chipped. Also not many mugs - meant we were constantly putting the dishwasher on or washing up to have enough for the next meal. Bedding - would be good to have option of lighter duvet or sheets - aware we had an unseasonably hot week and generally Lake District is not like that! But these might be helpful for future as well as fans in bedrooms! Many thanks we had a great week.

Plenty of bathrooms of an excellent standard and comfortable beds.

Great location and a good size house, The only disappointing things were that the grass wasn’t cut and the garden furniture wasn’t cleaned down and inside the oven needed cleaning.

Lovely house, very comfortable and well equipped.

Great location with easy walking access to shops, pubs and fantastic walks and the lake. Fully recommend. The downstairs bathroom would be perfect if there was a lock on the Door, something which has been pointed out on several occasions, in the guest book. The main en suite tap is dripping constantly and several radiators including main towel rail and the radiator in the dining area do not get warm. The above is not a criticism but in order for the property to remain as lovely as it is I felt I should point it out.

What a beautiful home!

it was very spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed and more! It was in a fabulous location within a few short minutes walk to Coniston. We did have a minor maintenance issue that was rectified within a few hours of reporting. The only downside were the upstairs showers the water pressure was extremely low.

Could do with a lock on the downstairs shower room to avoid awkward encounters with the in laws !

We had a really lovely stay at Holme Fell.

The things that let it down where the garden, when we arrived the grass was very long and quite a few brambles growing o we the bottom decking. The gardeners did come on the Thursday and mow the lawn and did some maintenance so the Friday was fine but this was our last day. It would have been nice to have more information about the area, there was a folder but a little limited. At other properties we’ve stayed in there has been a welcome pack on arrival which always seems a lovely way to welcome your guests.

Excellent property and location, can`t fault Holme Fell at all and love Coniston.

Both the house and the village have everything you need for a classic Lake District holiday. We thoroughly loved our week there and will return.

We (Mum, Dad, 4 young adult daughters) enjoyed a very pleasant week at Holme Fell.

It's perfectly located within 2 minutes walk of Coniston's shops and pubs and 10-15 mins walk from Coniston Water. The house was spacious, clean, well maintained and Gail, the owner, was very helpful. We'd recommend it without reservation.

We found Holme Fell a spacious and superb property, well located and brilliantly kept, including a quality kitchen and equipped with, tasteful and comfortable furnishings.

The exceptional fridge freezer meant a lot to us and the garden room was particularly delightful meaning that we could enjoy to the full the glorious surroundings even during heavy rain.

We all fell in love with the house as soon as we walked in-it felt really spacious and is beautifully decorated to a high standard throughout and extremely clean.

The open- plan kitchen and conservatory is huge with lovely sofas to sit and relax and enjoy the views. The bedrooms felt very luxurious with lovely en-suites and the beds were extremely comfy too. The location is perfect in a very quiet cul-de-sac with lots of cafe's and pubs nearby and some nice little shops where everyone was so friendly. We all hope to return again very soon-Thank you.

Lovely large clean property suitable for a few families.

Morning sun in the conservatory into open plan kitchen breakfast bar. Downstairs zip link twin/double has separate bathroom off the kitchen with walk in shower - suitable for elderly parents. Quiet cul-de-sac location with short cut few minutes walk to village & The Crown. Outside bins crammed full on arrival and little firewood. Garden needed doggy bags & no welcome pack. Still, 10/10 for house cleanliness, property suitability & bathrooms, settees & bedrooms' standards, thank you for the holiday, great memories! Book Holme Fell if searching for this type of house.

We’ve just spent a lovely week in Coniston at Holme Fell.

The property was lovely and very well equipped. The location was great, very close to all amenities as well as some lovely pubs to go out and eat. We would definitely visit again.

The space, layout and facilities were all very well thought out.

This is an extremely comfortable and attractive holiday let which will obviously appeal to groups of friends or extended families wanting to get together in this popular location. It worked very well for our arranged break (6 adults comprising 2 couples and 2 singles) allowing us to enjoy memorable times together but with the benefits of spacious en suite bedrooms to retire to.

Holme Fell is a lovely comfortable and very well equipped house, furnished to a high standard.

There are great views from the 3 upstairs bedroom, all of which have en-suite facilities. We loved sitting in the conservatory and enjoying the surroundings. There is also nice seating areas outside. The house is convenient for Coniston Village, a few minutes walk away and its amenities. You can also walk to the lake in 15 minutes. Coniston is a great place to explore the beauty of the Lake District and all it has to offer. All in all would thoroughly recommend Holme Fell for a lovely comfortable stay. It will not disappoint.

Let me start by saying what an amazing property!

The perfect family home large rooms/bathrooms great facilities and kitchen was perfect. Gail was very responsive and helpful anything we needed was only a message away. The area I was blown away by its beauty. Mountain views to old man straight out the front patio doors. Everyone in the area was so lovely and friendly cafe and shops are a must visit. We will certainly be booking this property again very soon we stayed with 3 children from 9 months 6 and 8 years old and they didn't want to leave it was there favourite holiday in England to date and is one of the best area's and property's I've stayed in to date. Thank you for the best holiday experience!

What a lovely little gem in the heart of Lake District, we were pleasantly surprised by this bright, spacious and well managed property!

You can enjoy the views of high rise mountains at the front side and the back garden is sufficient for kids to play around. The local shops and a lovely cafe (Herdwicks) are just few mins walk away. Highly recommended.
