Crooklands Cottage

Lovely property in great location.

We came last year and loved it so much that we came back! Accommodation is very spacious with loads of room for everyone. Pool table and Playstation to keep the teenagers happy and occupied. Hot tub outside. Excellent garden furniture and patio that gets loads of sun to sit outside. Only two small gripes - the toilet seat in the main bathroom and one of the ensuites need replacing or tightening as they slide off when you sit on them. leaving you sitting on the rim of the toilet! And we asked for extra bedding to be left for us to put on a couple of the beds but it was forgotten which was a shame when we had specifically asked for it and I'd had confirmation via Whats App that it would be left. Otherwise everything was excellent and I would highly recommend to other guests.

Small issue with the boiler but very quickly resolved by the property owners. Would definitely recommend crooklands cottage and if your family/group size is more than the cottage can accommodate the property adjoins crooklands hotel so plenty rooms available. Thank you for a wonderful break

We had a lovely family get together here for 3 nights.

Perfect size for 10 of us and dogs! The dogs had a great time running around the big well enclosed garden! There were plenty of rooms and the hot tub for if people wanted their own space. The pool table was a great addition as was the games console. Hotel literally a stones throw away, right off the motorway and easy to find! Would definitely recommend

The cottage was lovely and spacious, all the bedrooms were beautiful decorated and clean.

The beds were super comfy and each room had enough space for 2 people to comfortably stay. The owners were friendly welcoming and made out stay super easy!!

Beautiful spacious property which was perfect for our large family party.

Beds are all very comfortable, bathrooms large with great showers, kitchen well equipped. Lovely garden with hot tub and parking in the hotel car park right next to the house. There is lots of space for a large party to spread out and we enjoyed the games room. The only small change we would suggest is some additional lamps in the lounge - it was dark particularly in the tv area (especially if you don’t use the tv like us) but the ceiling light made it too bright! We would highly recommend this property.

Had another perfect stay!

following our stay in June last year for a 50th celebration we decided to return with family for my 60th Birthday. The cottage is amazing and kept my Grandchildren entertained in the hot tub and the games room and the adults and dogs in the lounge. Its a great location with easy access to anywhere in the lakes or further. We ate in the hotel on the Birthday night and the staff were wonderful and the food was amazing as it was last time we visited. We had our own games night with straws, paper cups and ping pong balls, there is so much space in the house that we could do this indoors when the rain came down. Everything about this place is perfect. There were plenty of towels, loo rolls, plugs (all the little things that make life more comfortable). My Son-In-Law loved the coffee machine with the pods. The 2 ovens allowed us to cook full breakfast for 9 of us with ease. Constant hot water, underfloor heating (we had snow at one point but the house was lovely and warm) and radiators. I spoke with the owner prior to the trip who arranged one bedroom to be split into single beds for our smaller Grandchildren and we also pre-ordered the food for our meal in the hotel so the starters were served very quickly after our arrival. Everything was perfect and we will definitely return. Thank you for making my Birthday so great! x

The cottage is amazing in every way !

! We went with our grandchildren and we all had a fabulous time. The location is perfect with a lovely restaurant/bar next door. The cottage had everything you would need for an amazing break and the layout was perfect for a large group or family. My grandchildren did not want to leave and loved the Games room We have stayed at many cottages over the years and this was “ The Best”. Also lovely touch as delicious cakes to welcome us x

We stopped as a family of 8 plus 2 dogs for my 60th birthday celebration, there is so much space & feel the photos just don't do the property justice, plenty of car parking spaces at the hotel next door & the meals at the hotel was lovely too, washing machine was really handy after a muddy walk, one of our party mentioned that she wished there had been a dressing table in her room so that she could have somewhere to dry her hair, the large wall mirror in her room had no plug by it so she had to dry her hair in our bedroom, I would definitely recommend this property & we will definitely be back

This property was absolutely stunning.

We had a fantastic weekend celebrating my mother in laws 60th birthday. The house has everything you need, bedrooms were amazing, comfortable and spacious and the games room was well enjoyed by everyone. The cakes left by owner were a really nice touch too. Would highly recommend Crooklands Cottage to anyone looking for a group stay. Despite the weather we got some use out of the lovely hot tub when the rain was off. The garden would have been gorgeous to sit in had we not went in October. A short drive to Kendal which is a lovely town for a Sunday lunch and stroll.

This was my second stay at Crooklands Cottage and after my first visit a couple of years ago, I was just as astonished by it this time!

! We came as a girl group of 10 from Liverpool for my “UK Hen Do” with an age range from 14-60 and every single one of us were given the wow factor! The modest look, cleanliness, facilities and the added touch of homemade bakes on arrival all made it worth every penny. The owners are lovely people and there to assist when needed. The price can look scary at first glance (for example, we paid £1500 approx) for the weekend, but split between 10 £150 each - for a luxury stay Friday-Sunday with a hot tub and games room isn’t much at all! Linen and towels provided. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re considering it. Already looking to book again for peak summer next year with the family… thanks so much for another memorable trip Crooklands x

As a family celebrating my wife's 70th birthday the cottage was exactly what we wanted.

4 grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed our nightly pool competition and everyone utilised the hottub afternoon and night.Family mealtimes together were brilliant with the expansive kitchen diner and super facilities,although the oven was a bit of a challenge to work out even with the instructions

This stunning recently hosted my friend's holiday / joint hen&stag do.

Pictures honestly do not do it justice. It's just perfect. Incredibly spacious, very clean, amazing facilities such as a ps5 with 4 controllers, large hot tub, gorgeous patio and very spacious garden. Honestly was so blown away. Waking up to the river in the morning was honestly just fantastic. The only down side is it advertised a juliet balcony but you couldn't actually open the doors to access it but I understand that this was done for safety reasons. Would definitely stay again and have recommended to others. Perfect location too, mere minutes away from just so much

This place is amazing! I took so many pictures and shared them with friends and family! Everyone has commented on how lovely the place is! The local pub next door has amazing food too! Can’t wait to book again. Thank you 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️’s!!!

It was all we had hoped for, for a family get-together.

The listing was absolutely accurate. It's a beautiful holiday home in a gorgeous location. The hot tub and pool room were very popular! The kitchen is amazing and very well equipped and the bedrooms, especially the two en suites, were stunning. The welcome cakes that were left went down very well too :)

We had a great stay at Crooklands cottage and would highly recommend.

We had a lovely warm welcome with a platter of fresh cakes, which was unexpected. The cottage has everything you need for a short break, with plenty of pots, pans, plates, cutlery, cooking utensils and glasses (including plastic for use outside). The appliances are high quality and as new, perfect when cooking for 6 or more. The bedrooms are very spacious with lots of wardrobe space and the beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are roomy with lots of space to keep your toiletries, although we could have done with a couple of hooks for towels/dressing gowns. The cottage is pet friendly but there are no tell tale signs of this, which I was worried about as we didn’t bring any furry friends. It was very clean throughout with no pet smells. The location of the cottage was excellent for us. Places such as Windermere and Kendal are within a 25 min drive. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a great stay here with friends for my husbands 40th, the cottage had everything we needed, great location, clean and garden and hot tub were great after a long day out, would definitely recommend for larger groups, rooms are very spacious with plenty storage space and not feeling like your living on top of each other.

This property was amazing we as a family could of stayed forever It is spacious extremely clean short of nothing the pool table kept the boys happy and the jacuzzi was amazing it’s a credit to the owners The only thing is we can’t get in to stay again it’s so popular.

Great house. Large comfortable and warm for this time of year. Ideal for a family gettaway. Lovely large hot tub. Good pool table and playstation. Everything you would need in the house. Nice for a walk along the river. Cosy pub next door for a drink or food. We would love to stay again sometime.

We had a fantastic stay at Crooklands Cottage over New Year.

There were 10 of us (6 adults and 4 children aged 8-15) and the cottage had everything we could possibly need. The kids loved the games room and hot tub and the open plan ground floor meant that we were all together but with plenty of space. We spent most of our time in the Cottage relaxing however we had lunch in the hotel restaurant before checking in. The food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. Outwith that, we went for a lovely dog walk along the canal next to the cottage and took the 15min drive into Kendal one afternoon. We scheduled a Tesco order to be delivered to us on arrival and did all of our own cooking. The kitchen had everything we needed and the large dining table meant that all 10 of us could eat together (even though there was another kitchen table that the kids liked to use for lunch). All in all, a brilliant stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend.

We have just come back from a Christmas break at crooklands cottage, we are a family if 10, 3 generations and the was more than enough space for everyone, the kids and adults loved the games room, the the hot tub was amazing and checked everyday.

Even though the house was big it still felt cozy, all the bedrooms were of a good size too The owners had left us some delicious cakes on our arrival I would definitely book it again and I can't recommend it highly enough

We stayed in this fantastic cottage with friends & family to kick off my 50th celebrations. They left a lovely card & some cakes for us on arrival & any questions I had before & during our stay were answered promptly. The bedrooms are gorgeous & very generous, facilities were fantastic & we loved the pool table & hot tub. Good location for some beautiful walks nearby & we ate in the pub twice too which was also great - food & service. I really would love to come back some time, we loved our stay. Thank you so much!

Just perfect Beautiful cottage.

We were a family of 10 with 2 babies and 2 dogs. Plenty of room. The 2 master rooms are so lovely. Made our stay so special. The cottage is equipped with everything you need. Faultless and so clean. Great having the hotel next door. Some of our party had an evening meal there which was so good. Would definitely book again .

We were a family group of 10 and absolutely loved our stay here, we didn't want to leave!

Everything was thought about and was well equipped, the cakes on arrival were a nice extra. Lots of space so we weren't all on top of each other. We will 110% be back. I think our only recommendation would be some more free standing lamps in the downstairs area. Overall amazing and can't wait to return.

An excellent holiday home.

It had everything we needed for a short stay whilst playing golf in the area. Bedrooms were large and comfortable and reception rooms spacious. The hot tub was welcome relaxation after the golf too. The owner, Rob, was also very helpful.

Beautiful clean modern spacious cottage. Staff extremely helpful when we needed any questions answering, and any maintenance needed was dealt with efficiently and promptly. Would strongly recommend to anyone.

Exceptionally Clean, having stayed in a number of Sykes properties we were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness at Crooklands.

We were greeted by a dome of tasty cakes, which were a wonderful treat for a few days. A beautiful large house, we kept going WOW as we walked around and losing each other. Everything was to a very high standard with lovely fluffy luxurious towels. We made use of every room including the games room, enjoying family meals round the large table. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed preparing meals as a large three generation family. There was salt and pepper, a few coffee pods, instant coffee sachets and tea bags but no milk, so remember to take some for that first cuppa. The Texaco garage is close by and has a shop. The hot tub was private and checked everyday. The garden provided a lovely outdoor space for our four children and dog to play, all very safe and secure. We had been cautious about the hotel car park but it was quiet and we were never disturbed by any noise. Well located for access to so many activities and The Lakes. Would highly recommend.

Very enjoyable week at Crooklands, the house being everything that we expected, and big enough for all ten of us!

The cakes on arrival were much appreciated! The only down side is that the road can be very noisy as well as inconsiderate hotel guests being very noisy early in the morning in the car park which is next door to the house. Other than that very good.

I would rate higher if I could. Place was immaculate and had everything we needed. Great communication and would definitely stay again, cannot recommend enough!

Brilliant holiday house, we didn’t want to leave!

We were pleasantly surprised as the cottage is much bigger than we expected, the photos don’t do it justice! There was plenty of space for us and it was lovely to not feel crammed in as a party of 8. The hot tub was great, and the games room was an added bonus for the evenings. The whole house was very clean and we couldn’t fault it at all. The location is good for easy access onto the main roads to travel around the lakes, and the owner was very friendly and responsive when contacted.

What a lovely spacious Cottage.

Was lovely to share this with my Daughters and Grandchildren for my birthday. The Cottage had everything you could want. The Beds are huge and so comfy. Loved the Hot tub and games room. We ate twice in the Pub next door which is so handy to be able to walk to and the food was really nice. Thanks Rob you have a lovely Cottage.

Fantastic stay and not long enough.

Grandchildren have already asked to go back for a longer stay. The house is more than big enough for all of us without being cramped and in each others space. Shame about the weather on the second day!! Welcome to Cumbria.

We had a wonderful holiday at crooklands cottage the house is beautiful and is situated in a great place for accessing the lakes.

Our only negative piece of feedback would be that the car park was often full and we were unable to park. Maybe 2 of the spaces near the house could be marked up for the house only. The food in the hotel was also lovely. Thanks for a great stay.

I cant talk highly enough of Crooklands Cottage, it is absolutely stunning.

10 of us went and were blown away by how stunning the property was - it has everything you need to an incredibly high standard. I didnt realise it was right next to a little river which made sitting outside in the hotub even more relaxing. Although you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere (which is exactly what we wanted) you're still close enough to amenities and Kendal and Windemere. We booked into the restaurant at Crooklands Hotel on night too and it was delicious. We came away feeling refreshed after a wholesome weekend.

Fantastic cottage, maintained and presented to the highest standard.

Games room kept the younger guests happy whilst the adults made the most of the extensive open living space. Great location for exploring the Lakes and surrounding areas. Hotel next door was also an excellent dining option!

Perfect home for the weekend!

Me and my friends stayed here for 2 of our birthdays and loved it! It is decorated lovely and so spacious. We loved how it had a pool table and hot tub too. The beds were also huge and so comfy! Thankyou

Fabulous “cottage”, it’s huge!

We were a party of 9 adults and a child plus a dog. Enclosed gated garden and hot tub area also gated, so secure. So much living space, you are never on top of each other. Cottage is well appointed, very clean and well maintained. Lovely decor. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. Pool table room with PlayStation and nice sofas a massive hit, so lovely being able to be together either playing pool/console or just sitting relaxing. Hot tub a good size and had lots of use, again lovely addition. Only thing I would have liked more of is cutlery, maybe another set adding to the drawer, as when you have 10 people eating/serving food, you tend to use a lot of it. We ate at The Crooklands pub, which was lovely too. Dog friendly in the bar area. All in all, a fabulous weekend had by all and would love to return, recommend for a large party. Thank you

I can’t recommend this property highly enough.

I was impressed when I saw the photos of the property but when you see it in person, wow! It was amazing. It had everything we wanted and more. Such spacious rooms, modernly decorated and cleaned to a high standard. Just perfect! The communication with the owner was first class. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they responded immediately too. A perfect weekend from start to finish. We are already thinking of a reason to go back!

Over the years my wife and I and grown up children and grandchildren have stayed in many holiday homes to celebrate a birthday or just a break away, Crooklands Cottage is without doubt the best ever, it sets a very high standard in every way which reflects the high standard of the adjoining hotel run by Chris and Rob.

Luxury, spacious accommodation, which surpassed our expectations.

The location and amenity of this property is outstanding. In particular, the property had been tastefully decorated for Christmas, which delighted the children (both young and old!) and we were treated to a welcome gift of some delicious, local cakes and pastries! The owners, Rob and Chris, also run the adjoining Crooklands Hotel, Restaurant and Bar. We enjoyed a superb meal there as well as great hospitality, but do book early to avoid disappointment. We did feedback to the owners that the photography in the property listing really fails to do this stunning property justice. All in all a faultless family Christmas break, thank you.

Very spacious cottage, spotless, everything you need for get away couldn’t fault it in anyway 8 adults went and not a problem with anything definitely booking again

A lovely house in a great location.

It is well equipped and was very cosy. The location is handy for the Lakes, the Dales, Morecambe Bay and lots of local attractions and walks. The garden is fenced. The busy pub next door is under the same ownership. We enjoyed an evening meal and a hearty breakfast on our checkout day. The pub is always busy so it is advisable to book for meals.

A wonderful stay at Crooklands, couldn’t have asked for more in terms of the cleanliness, facilities and helpfulness of the owners!

The hot tub and pool table absolutely made the stay and worth every penny, we booked as a group of friends and it was perfect, highly recommend, we’ll be back!

A beautiful property with plenty of space for a large family group.

The views from the property where slightly disappointing, it is next door to a very busy pub/hotel carpark. We had 3 cars to park and it wasn't always easy to find a space near to our holiday cottage.

The games room was a complete hit for the teenagers and the rooms and spacious and very comfortable. There was everything you could need in the kitchen and all the required appliances for a long stay. We arrived to beautiful cakes left for us were were delicious. The hotel pub next door serves amazing food but prepare yourself if you have a small appetite because the portions are pretty big

! We had comfortable nights sleeps in super comfy beds. The property had car park, Jacuzzi, attached bathrooms. Excellent !! Highly recommended.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family of six with one baby and one dog for my dads 60th.

The cottage was immaculate when we walked in. Rob the owner was really helpful if we ever needed anything. The pool table in the games room was a great bonus and kept us entertained at night along with the hot tub. Everything was clean and fresh and we had access to everything we needed including fresh towels, a cot, high chair, iron, hairdryer and everything else. When we arrived we were left with a plate of homemade cakes which was a lovely touch! It’s only an 13 minute drive into Kendall and only around 25 into Windermere. The pub is only next door which is great for a drink or food. Overall an amazing stay and I would recommend this to anyone!

Just returned from a long weekend at Crooklands Cottage - wow, what a beautiful place to call home for four days.

The pictures on the website do not do it any justice - it is better!! Each of the rooms are spacious and the open plan area downstairs made it easy for all in our party to never be alone. The bedrooms were well appointed and the two ensuites were lovely. The fact there is the hot tub was a bonus, although with our schedule, we only used it the once! We were lucky with the weather, so from getting up each morning, we all spent time just sitting outside with the first brew of the day. All in all, it was a pleasure to stay there and will definitely stay again. Can definitely recommend Crooklands Cottage to others. Also, it's ideally located in the car park of Crooklands Hotel, so handy to go in there for a bite to eat if don't feel like cooking.

So lovely relaxing stay brought us more essentials when we needed them.

We are a group of 6 friends ‘of a certain age’ who have known each other since primary school.

We regularly book cottages in various locations for short breaks, and this is one of the best. The living room is very stylish, the kitchen well stocked, the bedrooms spacious and comfortable, and luxurious underfloor heating in the bathrooms. Could the house do with a 4th shower room? Probably, but we coped!

Stunning bedrooms with very comfortable beds and plenty of space. Very clean, very modern and updated. We could tell the owners take a lot of pride in this property. Hot tub is big enough for 6 people easily. Garden is great for children to run and dogs to have a sniff. Gorgeous bathrooms throughout. Spacious and well equipped kitchen and utility. Genuinely felt like home.

Had a lovely week stay at Crooklands Cottage.

The house was much bigger than anticipated, it was plenty big enough for us all and a dog. The entertainment facilities were excellent and we were never bored on an evening with PlayStation, pool table and hot tub. Lots of places to walk the dog around the area and lots of places to keep children entertained. I highly recommend Lakelands Maze Farm for children, we spent hours here one day and still didn't fully experience everything they had. The pub and hotel just next door was handy to have and food here was really nice. Just a few things that we felt were missing this week, there is no BBQ which I think would have been a lovely addition as the garden area in the sunshine is lovely. As others have also said in their reviews, we also felt there wasn't enough seating in the main room. Overall a lovely stay and all thoroughly enjoyed.

A truly wonderful property right next to a fabulous hotel that serves great food!

Spacious, comfortable, modern and a good location to get to Windamere, Falls foot and Ingleton Falls on the doorstep. The property would benefit from a coffee machine, we bought and left a cafetière and a mop to dry the floor after being in the hot tub! Would defiantly recommend. We were a party of 9 and would not hesitate to return to this property.

Please furnish the kitchen with proper cookware.

Blunt knives and a frying pan that can do one person is a little bit of a challenge when cooking for 10.

This property is fantastic.

Its decorated and furnished to a very high standard, the cleanliness is perfect. The kitchen has all the amenities you need. Location is brilliant, its right next to the pub/hotel but this does not take away from the property being on a site on its own as it seems secluded. There were lovely touches from the owners including a gorgeous cake they had baked and dog bowls for our dogs. The food and service in the pub next door was great and we enjoyed eating there a couple of times. Its not far from Windermere/Bowness and there are lots of lovely walks near by. Highly recommend booking this and we will definitely be rebooking shortly. PS for anyone that is taking dogs, there are ticks in the area so please check your dogs. we did leave a tick remover.

This Cottage was amazing.

Rob and his team were most welcoming and helpful. The Cottage is spacious, modern, fab hot tub, great games room and extremely comfortable beds. Quality bedlinen and towels. Excellent location for Lakes and Dale's. A most delicious homemade cake was left in the kitchen, which we all enjoyed. A very personal touch. Would definitely recommend and definitely would return in a heartbeat.

Brilliant long weekend away the cottage is well equipped and beautifully done.

The hot tub is really good my Lad loved the games room.The only gripe is if you have a large family it could do with another sofa in the room leading to the garden.

This was an excellent property for a family reunion and a base to explore the South Lakes.

Would thoroughly recommend it for a relaxing break

We had a lovely 5 days, the cottage is gorgeous & well equipped.

The boys loved the games room, the adults loved the hot tub. The hotel was lovely too. Would definitely go back.

Close to the busy lakes areas but lovely and peaceful. Good for walking, lots of dining options and brilliant facilities if you just want a chilled out weekend. We will be going back!!
