“Great place to stay in the Southern Lakes, lots to see and do, very much liked Grange as a place, Promenade was beautiful.”

Property pretty much as described, plenty room for us 3 adults and a dog, but feel that the lounge sitting area, and the kitchen, would be a stretch for 6 guests. Compared to other properties we have stayed, kitchen was quite basic but we managed with what we had for the three of us, and great range cooker. Only thing we didn't have was a plug that fitted for the bath upstairs! The location of the property is up a hill, and my two family members were unable to walk up this due to health ...

The location of the property is up a hill, and my two family members were unable to walk up this due to health issues/age, so as the solo driver I needed to take the car when we were exploring even in Grange, parking is all paid even for Blue Badge holders unless you snag an on street slot. Great for dog walking, even with the wooded walk and community orchard right on your doorstep for our older dog and the Prom also. Not quite fit or young enough for the over the hill to Cartmel walk! Garden itself is safe for larger dogs, but wee ones may be able to get out under the gate. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it to others. Perfect location and fab view over the Sands. Thank you

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Other attractions in the area include Levens Hall, with its Elizabethan Hall and world famous topiary gardens, Holker Hall, Furness Abbey, Sizergh Castle, a National Trust medieval house and gardens, and Conishead Priory, a Gothic revival country house.
