    “A lovely cottage in a great location.”

    We thought a welcome pack would have been useful,bread milk etc . Minor cleanliness and maintenance isues need to be addressed,marks on the walls,kitchen window leaks, a proper kitchen table,a towel to dry hands in kitchen .Suggest they move table there outside and enhance the area wuth nice pot plants etc . The showers are compact and need a little shelf for shampoo,razor etc as items fell out of the basket .Just minor issues that we thought can be easily remedied. However on the whole we ...

Bowness is a short walk away to enjoy the lake.The bus service from the train station to other locations was excellent value for money. We would return to this cottage in future should we visit again.

Local attractions include the National Trust Wray Castle, a Victorian neo-Gothic castle dating back to the 19th century.

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip.
