    “Great location and parts of the cottage we’re nicely furnished but generally disappointing inside.”

    Not very well cleaned, and no basics like soap in one of the bathrooms and nothing in kitchen re a welcome pack. Luckily I had brought my own salt and pepper! We struggled working out how to use the kitchen hob. I had the ground floor bedroom with only a blind which didn’t keep the light out. There was a mattress topper on my bed which had been well used and was covered in bobbles which I could feel through the sheet. We struggled to actually close the back gate and couldn’t lock it ...

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park.
