“Everything was very clean and good.”

However one of the reasons we booked this accommodation was the availability of the swimming pool. In this we feel we were mislead. We fully appreciate in hindsight that this is in relation to covid19. But in reading your bit about changes on being made due to covid19, with regard to towels, pillow cases,etc, perhaps it may have been an idea to fully upfront about all the facilities instead of getting us to book on false promises.

“We stayed in the Forge and Bibby Lot on a family holiday.”

Felt that Graythwaite had made very little special effort in providing a Corvid secure environment. When staying in Wales in July hand gel and antibacterial spray was provided together with guidance notes Cleanliness was not of a acceptable standard. The following are examples causing concern Dirty crockery and utensils in cupboards - garlic press with garlic still in, food on cutlery and glasses requiring washing before use On stripping beds on last day, no mattress protectors and stained mattresses in some instances Cobwebs Bibby Lot - curtains hanging off in bunk bedroom. Wood not provided for fire as stated in Information pack As a 4 star property it did not meet expectations.

The property

Forge is an end-terrace cottage located near Hawkshead, Cumbria. Inside, the owner has created a beautiful feeling with a modern interior that offers a real home-from-home vibe. Step into the open-plan living room, with its magnolia painted walls and beige sofas, this room is a real treat for families. The lounge boasts a lovely open fire in a locally-sourced stone mantelpiece and a flatscreen TV. There is a lovely dining area with seating for up to four people, making for a wonderful social space. The kitchen has newly fitted wooden units and sleek black granite worktops. The first floor plays host to three bedrooms; one king-size and two single, and a separate modern shower room. Off-road parking is available. Outside has an abundance of on-site facilities and a shared patio area with furniture available. Hawkshead is ideally located for many attractions in the Lake District. Rydal Hall Gardens developed from the 1600s with formal gardens, woodlands and iconic landmarks to explore. The picturesque gardens are formally laid out with landscaped beds, which adjoin a waterfall. A lovely spot to walk along the trails and explore the lovely rolling countryside. The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses.
