“We have stayed at Betamere many times now and although the decor remains dated we always appreciate the small refurbishments that occur over the years, between our visits.”

The apartment is warm and cosy and has almost everything we need. This time we noticed new carpet, a footstool and cushions in the lounge and new flooring in the en-suite cloakroom.

A delightful ground floor apartment with a quiet air of luxury very close to Lake Windermere at Waterhead - an ideal place for a relaxing holiday in the very heart of the Lake District. There are views of the lake from the main rooms and also from its own south facing garden terrace. Indeed you could well become so lazy here that you may not wish to stir from this pretty setting! There are five acres of shared grounds around the property with a host of trees and shrubs and you can frequently see deer and rabbits and a wide variety of birds. Accommodation: Betamere has its own front door leading into a hallway with hanging space for coats etc.. The large open plan sitting/dining room (flat screen TV, video, electric fire,wi-fi) has lake views from its large windows. Good quality fitted kitchen area is all in limed oak with built-in oven and hob. Double bedroom, also with large windows and lake views, has a useful en-suite toilet and basin. Main bathroom has bath, shower, basin and wc. The property is furnished in co-ordinated pastel colours with a great deal of attention to detail and many personal touches. Fitted carpets throughout. Storage heaters. This beautifully presented property would be ideal for a holiday at any time of the year. It is a very popular holiday venue with many regular clients.

About the location

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
