I chose Buckbarrow due to it's fabulous location overlooking the Wasdale screes with England's finest mountain scenery on the doorstep and it didn't disappoint.
Despite two named storms dominating my activities the place was warm and comfortable and certainly weatherproof. We did lose power for a while but so did much of the surrounding area. I would love to stay there again and hopefully will. I recommend the owner should spend an hour or so making sure cooking facilities are clean, defrosting the fridge's ice compartment and getting the kitchen's under-cupboard lighting to work. Also the TV instructions seem clear but don't work for freeview unless I missed something. BBC iPlayer worked and that was plenty for me, but I think the instructions offered may be missing a step? I found the beds comfortable, the towels and heated rail excellent and the general level of equipment good.
The mattress on our double bed was hard & very uncomfortable.
. it didn’t have a washing machine or an air fryer.. but overall we did enjoy our stay..
