The property

Crozier Cottage is a delightful, characterful family home in an ideal location on the edge of picturesque Grasmere village.

The property has been sympathetically updated whilst retaining many original features and is sure to please anyone looking for a home from home holiday or couples wishing to stay together.

There is no need to use the car on a daily basis with shops, restaurants and bars and local services just along the road, close by you will have all your day to day needs on hand.

Walks from the door are too many to mention with both rambles and high level peaks accessible.

Grasmere makes a splendid base for a holiday in any season and is always sought after being right in the heart of the lakes.

Make sure you visit the Wordsworth museum and Dove Cottage and see the local churchyard where Wordsworth is buried.

Rowing boats are available on Grasmere Lake in season - beautiful for a picnic on a sunny day. Accommodation: Front door entrance with room for jackets and boots in the welcoming hallway.

The main sitting room/dining room has plenty of comfy seating and an impressive multi fuel burner to keep you cosy on the coldest nights (TV with freeview, DVD and free wi-fi).

The dining area is perfect for family gatherings and relaxed dining.

To the rear of the property is a long newly fitted kitchen with more seating with an overlook to Helm Crag and a great viewing place for Red Squirrels and birds.

Back door to patio and garden area. The first floor has three comfortable and warm bedrooms, a Twin, a King and full-size bunk beds.

A family bathroom with separate shower, bath and wc. Crozier Cottage has been neutrally decorated throughout with lush carpets and soft furnishings. Outside: Private parking for three cars.

Pretty enclosed rear garden with patio area and garden furniture.

Village centre 5 minute walk (approx)

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
