“The property LITTLE BARN was beautiful in every respect; both inside and out.”
We are aware in the advertising that pets can stay there but we feel it is definitely NOT pet friendly, by pets we assume that dogs will be most likely to stay there, As soon as we opened the door to Little Barn we were met with a notice basically saying that pets can only be allowed to sit on the lounge floor and go nowhere else in the property. There were actually two big notices saying the same thing and also stating we would incur a fine if not complied with, We always take covers for everything anyway and always have. My Husband did mention this notice to the owners whilst we were there. Never have we had this before and we have stayed in your cottages before. The last one being on Holy Island last year. We really cannot recommend Little Barn to any pet owners as being pet friendly as it clearly is not. It seems such a shame as the property is perfect in every other way and we would have loved to have stayed there again

Hi Firstly I’d like to thank you for staying at Little Barn and also give thanks for the lovely water paintings you did whilst visiting. I just want to try clear up the issue in this feedback. I’m aware you spoke to my dad about the sign we have up about not allowing dogs on furniture/beds and how it had upset you, the reasoning behind this is that, as you’ll well know if you are dog people, the hair of dogs will literally imbed into duvets/bed sheets making it nearly impossible to remove, this is obviously very frustrating to us as owners who have to then replace said bedding. And the second reason is being mindful that some people have allergies to pet hair so it is unfair to allow bedding that is covered in dog hair to then be reused for someone who has a potential allergy as I said it is near on impossible to get rid of it so unfortunately it does go straight into the bin. I’m aware your issue is that you would consider that as not pet friendly but that’s simply not the case, we just don’t think it is necessary that dogs go on to the beds, so then we don’t have to go out and buy fresh bedding everytime a customer chooses to allow that to happen. I have tried calling a few times to explain this to you but had no luck getting through so hope this clears things up and you can hopefully see our point of view.
To clarify for any future guests we absolutely welcome dogs, Infact, we encourage them, we just ask they stay off beds, in accordance to the terms and conditions that are agreed to with sykes
Thank you
