“Poppy's is a really lovely cottage.”
Stayed here with my 84 year old mum in July. It's very comfortable has quality furnishings and feels like home with lots of nice touches. Comfy beds, beautiful bathrooms and a great kitchen.....it's not big....Poppy's is not a big house but extremely well thought out. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard for breakfast and for afternoon sun. Also there is a pleasant public 'green' at the front of the property, which can get busy during the day but then very quiet after about 5pm. We both slept really well, it's very peaceful by night and no traffic noise.
Grasmere is a fantastic base in the Lake District. Stunning scenery and some great walking right out of the front door - some real gems such as Helm Crag, Silverhowe and Easedale tarn. Also a really good bus service up to Keswick or Ambleside if you need.
You won't go far wrong at Poppy's cottage.
