The property

Stonegarth is a one bedroomed cottage ideally situated in the centre of the popular Lakeland village of Grasmere, there are an abundance of scenic walks directly from the door, you may never need to move your car. Stonegarth Cottage is an ideal base for couples wishing to walk many of the local fells and mountains and also for those who wish to have a more relaxed holiday, located in the centre of Grasmere and within a few minutes walk to the lake, shops, pubs and restaurants.Dove Cottage is a short stroll away as is the world famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop. The modern apartment is all on one level and is therefore ideal for those who have difficulties with stairs. The garden area is an ideal retreat to enjoy a glass of wine after a day on the fells or to relax on a sunny day. Stonegarth has solid oak flooring with under floor heating throughout and comprises: Open plan living accommodation, lounge with TV and DVD, patio doors lead from the lounge out to the garden. Dining area adjacent to the kitchen which is equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer and dishwasher. Bedroom with King size zip and link bed which can be converted to twins by prior arrangement which can be linked together to make a super king size bed (please advise when booking if you require twin beds) with en-suite wet room with shower, WC and hand basin. All gas, electric, bed linen and towels included. No cot or highchair available. Private parking. Garden area. Wi-Fi available.

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
