The property

Dove Cottage is a detached stone cottage located near Hawkshead, Cumbria.

Throughout the home the colours are attractive, welcoming and very much in the modern-contemporary style but in-keeping with the classic, period cottage style.

With quirky-style paintings found in each room, this property is full of character.

Settle down in the spacious lounge for late-night chats around the cosy electric fire.

Alternatively, enjoy the benefits of the TV and DVD player to watch your favourite shows and films.

Step into the open-plan kitchen and dining area, with seating for up to six people.

With a farmhouse-style kitchen units and modern appliances to suit all your needs.

All rooms are located on the ground floor, with two bedrooms; one double and one twin.

With lemon walls and wooden furnishings, these rooms boast a lovely home-from-home vibe.

There is off-road parking for two cars available.

Outside, you will find a plethora of facilities to enjoy on the 5,000 acre estate, some of which includes the heated indoor pool and table tennis room.

And let's not forget the shared outdoor patio area with furniture.

For some local fun, visit Ambleside Climbing Wall, an indoor climbing venue which offers taster sessions, private lessons and even kids clubs.

It is suitable for all ages, there is something for everyone.

With outdoor activities also, from kayaking and rock climbing, to gorge scrambling and hiking, this is not an attraction you want to miss.

HAWKSHEAD

Ambleside 5.1 miles; Kendal 17.4 miles.

The picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Visitors can wander the wealth of tiny alleyways, thoroughfares, archways and courtyards between the whitewashed 17th century houses. There are many pleasant inns, teashops, guest houses and gift shops in the village, as well as the Beatrix Potter Gallery, which houses an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories. The other famous Hawkshead enthusiast, William Wordsworth, attended the Old Grammar School in 1779-87, which still stands today, and you can visit the building where the Lakeland poet developed his love of the form, and even see the desk into which he scratched his name as a small boy! Newby Bridge is ten miles away and offers attractions such as the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruises, sailing daily between Ambleside, Bowness and Lakeside. With stunning scenery and numerous attractions within easy touring distance, Hawkshead is in an ideal location at any time of the year.
