Eel House Cottage is a beautiful detached cottage nestled on the Graythwaite Estate near Bowness-on-Windermere, Lake District.
Home to both a double with an en-suite shower and a twin, this property can sleep up to four guests.
The first floor is complete with a family bathroom, whilst the ground floor boasts a kitchen, utility, dining room and a sitting room with a woodburning stove.
Outside there is an enclosed gravelled garden to the side with outdoor furniture and secured bike storage, as well as off-road parking for two cars to the front.
Eel House Cottage is a wonderful base from which to enjoy a memorable stay in the Lake District.

Lovely cottage, surrounded with plenty of places to visit.
Decoration is starting to look like it needs a refresh, some areas have been painted over but looks like a different shade of paint.
Outside porch area bulb needs replaced as does the one in the cooker hood. Overall a well presented, comfortable cottage in a quiet location away from the crowds. A great base to explore this area of the Lake District… there’s a Tawny owl nest next to the garden and it’s only a short but steep walk up the hill to visit the Ospreys. This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we’re likely to return again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Eel House Cottage, it was very clean and comfortable, and had most things we needed.
Our weather wasn’t too great so it was nice to have somewhere comfortable and warm to come back to. It’s also very quiet even though the road is just at the front. There are some nice walks from the doorstep to the Sawreys. We really laughed at the description of the bath ‘sitting proudly in the bathroom’, there was no photo, so we were expecting something out of the ordinary, not just a normal bath!! The shower in the en-suite was excellent and the bed and sofas very comfortable. The outside of the house could do with a bit of work as the lobby was damp, there is no downpipe at the rear. Also the garden is just a field really with quite long grass, so a lot of drying needed for the dog every time she went out. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs, the only really small things we could suggest are more sharp knives and some new scissors.
