“Filthy dirty!”
Overlooked and road noise.
This is a beautiful little cottage with character, and has the potential to be a lovely place to stay...but. it appears to have been rather neglected recently and is not a pleasant place to holiday. It was absolutely filthy, with surfaces covered in dust, cobwebs and dead flies in most windows. The dishwasher full of mould and old food. The rainfall shower attachment doesn't work, the heated towel rail doesn't heat, loose carpet on top step. The bin lid was mouldy ...

This is a beautiful little cottage with character, and has the potential to be a lovely place to stay...but. it appears to have been rather neglected recently and is not a pleasant place to holiday. It was absolutely filthy, with surfaces covered in dust, cobwebs and dead flies in most windows. The dishwasher full of mould and old food. The rainfall shower attachment doesn't work, the heated towel rail doesn't heat, loose carpet on top step. The bin lid was mouldy and broken. Mildew on the kitchen sink taps. The shower trap was clogged with black mould and hair. The description of the garden doesn't mention the fact when you open the back door, you look straight into the lounge of another holiday cottage, divided with stock fencing and green garden mesh! To access the garden and hottub (maintained by holiday guests and not cleaned between visits) you have to negotiate a path that has loose slates and trip hazards. No welcome pack or milk or visitors comments book? Rush hour begins at 5am and car noise is bad in the bedrooms. Not enough crockery for 5 people, broken sharp drinking glass 1-of only 4 available. So disappointed and we have never have stayed in such a poorly maintained cottage for £28 shy of a thousand pound for a week. We left early! Sadly have decided to make a complaint to Sykes with photographs of all the above. (first ever) I hope its cleaned before you stay.
