“First couple renting this cottage with our cocker spaniel Milo.”

What a fantastic place, finished to a very high standard, really well furnished, and the best equipped property we have stayed in! The owners have really gone the extra mile with this place and should be proud of what they have accomplished. Easy access to south lakes, Newby Bridge, Cartmel and Grizedale Forest. Nicely tucked away up a country road providing easy walks to take the dog out from your front door, peaceful and very very quiet. The only recommendation would be better lighting around ...

The only recommendation would be better lighting around the parking area as very dark at night due to no street lights.

About the location

NEWBY BRIDGE

Bowness-on-Windermere 8 miles.

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life. Bowness-on-Windermere provides a lovely day out, plus the picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and admire the views at nearby Gummer's How.
