“Fantastic weeks holiday at Foxrock, the property was outstanding and the owners have thought about so many little details that add that extra touch to your stay.”

Not often you get such a classy property that also allows dogs so it was perfect for us! Great location too, only a 5 min walk to Bowness.

    - K Robinson,

The property

Within easy walking distance of both Windermere and Bowness centres (5-10 minutes), the owners have fully refurbished and modernised the property to an exceptionally high standard. The property is newly completed and has been extended to substantially increase the living space providing light and airy accommodation throughout. Spectacular bi-fold doors open directly onto the private terrace and offers impressive views to the Langdales, one of the Lake District's well know mountain ranges. Offering a great selection of local shops, bars and cafes within easy walking distance, Foxrock is situated in a great location and offers a very high standard of accommodation with a great social space making it ideal for relaxing with friends and family. For those wanting to get out and about, there are numerous walks you can choose from, direct from the door. Admire the beautiful views, explore the high fells and head for the summit of Orrest Head for a breath taking view or enjoy a relaxing walk around the lake shore. Offering superior quality accommodation in a great location, Foxrock is an excellent choice for all seasons. Accommodation in detail Situated on a quiet road, the property is approached via a private driveway. Three steps lead up to front door which leads to a hallway with coat hanging. The lounge is a great social space, furnished with a large comfortable modern corner sofa and armchairs arranged around the welcoming multi fuel stove and a large screen wall mounted smart TV. A sunroom provides additional seating, with a door to the rear garden, patio and small stream, which runs through the garden. The ground floor has a spacious well-appointed quality open plan Kitchen/Diner with spectacular bi-fold doors that open from the dining area directly onto the large sun terrace, offering beautiful views to the Langdales. The kitchen is well equipped with Siemens oven, microwave and dishwasher, Bosch fridge/freezer and incorporates a peninsular with a Siemens electric hob and raised breakfast bar. A wall mounted TV can be watched from the window seat, whilst enjoying a cup of tea. The family dining area comprises of a contemporary upholstered booth and seating is situated in front of the bi-fold doors making it the ideal spot to socialise with friends and family whatever the time of day. There are three tastefully decorated bedrooms to choose from, the first is off the lounge and offers a double bedroom, with dual aspect windows, which makes a light and bright room. The second ground floor bedroom is a twin room. Head upstairs to the third double bedroom, with views above rooftops to the hills. The bedrooms are complemented by a quality, luxury bathroom which includes a bath which is set alongside a monsoon walk in shower, a basin with storage beneath, WC, shaver point and substantial wall mounted mirror. An undercroft formed from the basement, with a separate entrance provides an additional utility/boot room, a useful spacious area with washer, drier and twin granite sinks, boot racks and hanging space for coats. A door leads to a games room/snug where the children and adults can have fun on the X-box or just chill out. The undercroft may also be used as a quiet room for relaxing and escaping with a book. There is a modern shower room with basin and wc. A particular feature at the rear of Foxrock is the stream at the bottom of the garden. Relax on the second patio, ideal for outdoor dining. With a choice of patios, you'll always find the ideal spot to relax over a glass of wine in the evening or a coffee and the morning papers! Due to the stream in the garden, and the dangers it may present to adventurous children, parents are advised to remain vigilant. There is parking for one car on the driveway, with additional on street parking outside the property. Stroll to the lake shore to hire a boat, or take a cruise on one of the resident Lake Windermere steamers. Both the villages of Bowness and Windermere offer plentiful choice for everyone and are both easy to get too are within your reach by foot! Easy access to join the A591 to Ambleside and Grasmere, and you can explore the homes of famous Lake District poet, William Wordsworth. Another great idea is to take the car-ferry crossing over Lake Windermere from Bowness, to visit the former home of Beatrix Potter in Near Sawrey, and the picturesque village of Hawkshead. If using public transport, why not catch the 599 buses that run daily from the bottom of the road where the property is located which will take you to Ambleside or Grasmere.
