Lingmell House is a traditional Victorian Lakeland slate semi detached house. It is a lovely, light, bright and spacious holiday home situated between the villages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. It offers a quiet location, away from the crowds, yet only a short stroll from the villages of Windermere, Bowness and Windermere Lake itself. Set over 3 floors, this property provides plenty of space for family and couples. If you're looking for a home with generous sized bedrooms and a great living space, then this is the place for you to relax and recharge your batteries. The delights of Windermere and Bowness village are less than a 10 minute walk away, with their excellent bars, cafes and restaurants, and of course the famous World of Beatrix Potter attraction in Bowness. An absolute bonus for this property is that you don't even require a car to get here; it’s within easy reach by using local public transport. Windermere has its own train station, buses are frequent, and taxis are readily available. . Renovated to a very high standard, the owner’s attention to detail and quality is evident throughout with many character features of the property remaining, staircase, high ceilings and sash windows. It makes the perfect base for getaways with family and friends. With easy access to the great outdoors and many walks and bike rides available from the front door. Accommodation in detail Enter through the front door into the hallway with ample storage for muddy boots and coats. The hallway leads to the lounge which is light and bright with a big bay window. A cosy homely space to socialise and relax in the evening on the sumptuous sofa and chair. While away the evenings in front of the Smart TV with soundbar or chatting with friends or playing games with the family, or taking advantage of the accommodation’s Netflix package. The Kitchen/Diner is very well designed with a full complement of integrated appliances including an American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, gas hob and electric double oven. You have all you need to cook up a feast, a great social space where you can sit and chat with a glass of wine whilst preparing meals. The washing machine /tumble dryer is tucked out of the way in a cupboard to avoid any noise. On the first floor there are two lovely king size rooms with TV’s, which are light and airy. One has an en suite with shower, wc, basin, and shaver point. The family bathroom is located on this floor and has a bath with shower over, wc, basin and light with shaver point. Location On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness is a sophisticated Lakeland village with so much to explore and enjoy. Within minutes from Lingmell you can be enjoying walks with magnificent views such as to Biskey Howe, Brant Fell and School Knott. Stroll to the lake shore to hire a rowboat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car. There are many excellent restaurants in Bowness and Windermere, all within walking distance of Lingmell including champagne bars, contemporary wine bars and traditional pubs offering a range of great British and international cuisine. There is something for everyone, both in the village centre and the surrounding countryside. Windermere Golf Club is just outside Bowness village, on the way to the Lyth Valley. This area is also renowned for gentle but very scenic walking, with a wealth of acclaimed Lake District country pubs to choose from at the end of the day.
