    “We had a lovely stay at Thorndale.”

    Gorgeous property, comfortable and cosy. Ideally situated between Windermere Village and Bowness. No complaints, just a couple of ideas, perhaps a tray would be a good addition to the well equipped kitchen. Especially taking drinks and snacks upstairs. A small supply of kindling/wood would be a bonus, although the gas fire was definitely a good addition. A couple of cleaning products would be useful, just a general purpose spray and perhaps toilet cleaner. Otherwise everything was perfect for ...

The property

Thorndale is a stunning detached Victorian House located midway between, and within easy walking distance of the popular villages of Windermere and Bowness that offer a great array of shops, bars and restaurants and which are popular all year round.

Thorndale has been lovingly created by the current owners to create a superb property that is ideal for friends and families seeking homely, high quality, contemporary accommodation in a great location. This imposing property is spread over three floors.

The lower floor, at garden level features patio doors that open from the spacious kitchen diner to the large patio and garden beyond.

The two sitting rooms share the middle level, to the front there is a spacious lounge with large bay window that allows the light to flood in and furnished with comfortable sofas around the living flame gas fire and TV.

The second sitting room, overlooking the garden again includes leather sofas and is the ideal place to relax in front of the cosy log burning stove and large screen TV.

Choose from any one of three well-appointed bedrooms.

On the lower floor there is a smart dual aspect super king size room with adjacent shower room with walk in shower and WC.

Two further bedrooms are both located on the top floor.

To the rear and overlooking the garden, this pretty room is presented with a king size bed.

This bedroom is complemented by the luxurious family bathroom offering a bath, walk in shower, basin and WC.

The final bedroom has a Super king size double accompanied by an elegant ensuite shower room with walk in shower, basin and WC. Outside there is a spacious garden that is accessed through the patio doors from the kitchen/diner.

The garden is large, family friendly, with planted borders and a spacious patio.

Ratan dining furniture and garden sofa provides the perfect place to relax on a summers evening over dinner or a glass of wine. Location This superb Windermere holiday home is located in a very desirable location in Windermere and is only a 5 minute walk from the village centre.

Also Thorndale is only a 10 minute walk from Bowness-on-Windermere.

Both villages have many local shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Bowness-on-Windermere nestles on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere and is alive with all the boating activities of Bowness Bay.

Enjoy sophisticated shops, tempting cafes, excellent Lake District restaurants and cosy traditional pubs, or stroll to the pier to hop on a Windermere Lake Cruise to Ambleside or Lakeside - a lovely way to explore without even using your car. Couples, families or groups of friends will find plenty of evening venues to explore and families can take their pick from a range of attractions in Bowness; mini golf on the Glebe, the famous World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, the Royalty Cinema and the Old Laundry Theatre. The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey.
