    “Third time staying at the complex, second stay at Macan.”

    Complained last year about the cleanliness and general maintenance at Lund and unfortunately doesn't seem anything has changed in the last year. Extractor had in kitchen covered in a layer of grease, dust and numerous dead flies, light fitting missing in the kitchen, air fryer filthy with left over food inside, inside kettle has a thick layer of limescale, shower door off roller at the bottom, toilet roll holder hanging off, light out in tge bedroom - have photos of all. Overall place was grubby ...

Overall place was grubby and in desperate need of some TLC, which is such a shame as the accommodation is in such a great location and well set out. Sadly for us, despite loving the location and the overall set up of Macan, we will not be back. Sykes and/or the owners need to give the place a good deep clean and some general maintenance.

This lovely set of seven cottages rest in the village of Far Sawrey, close to Hawkshead and Bowness. FAR SAWREY

Hawkshead 3.9 miles; Bowness (via ferry) 1.5 miles.

The village of Far Sawrey has a pub/restaurant, whilst Bowness, with all its shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, is just a short distance across the lake by ferry. Also close by is ‘Hill Top’, once the home of Beatrix Potter, and Hawkshead with its picturesque 17th century cottages. Footpaths lead from the grounds to the village and Claife Heights - a noted beauty spot of forests and tarns. Watersports are close at hand on Windermere, along with Lake Cruises and the majestic Wray Castle to admire. Fishing can be enjoyed on nearby Esthwaite Water and, of course, fell walking.
