    “Beautiful flat and we loved the balcony which we tried to sit on as often as the rain would allow.”

    Small things, but the air fryer still had crumbs in it from the last customer and one of the wall lights in the lounge wasn’t working. Not important as there were plenty of lights. We also found the toilet very hard to flush but perhaps at something to do with the water pressure. In the kitchen one of the worktops was a bit blistered where someone who pooped something too hot. Not important in a great skim of things though. Could do with new pots and pans, particularly the frying pan has seen ...

I would still come back to this flat as they are lovely and the bed is very comfortable. It’s a peaceful place but so handy for the ferry. Would happily go back.

This lovely set of seven cottages rest in the village of Far Sawrey, close to Hawkshead and Bowness. FAR SAWREY

Hawkshead 3.9 miles; Bowness (via ferry) 1.5 miles.

The village of Far Sawrey has a pub/restaurant, whilst Bowness, with all its shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, is just a short distance across the lake by ferry. Also close by is ‘Hill Top’, once the home of Beatrix Potter, and Hawkshead with its picturesque 17th century cottages. Footpaths lead from the grounds to the village and Claife Heights - a noted beauty spot of forests and tarns. Watersports are close at hand on Windermere, along with Lake Cruises and the majestic Wray Castle to admire. Fishing can be enjoyed on nearby Esthwaite Water and, of course, fell walking.
