“Beautiful place for a relaxing holiday.”

Tastefully decorated & extremely cosy. Amazing views and wonderful walks. Especially enjoyed the hot tub after a long day outside in the cold. Then in to relax by a real fire - perfect!! Can't wait to return!

The property

Magical Lakeland converted barns don't come better than this, occupying a sublime setting with simply breathtaking views in every direction towards Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells. Words can't truly describe the magic of this setting high above the tiny hamlet of Rydal with panoramic views in all directions - here the mountains appear so close you can almost reach out and touch them. Step inside and see for yourself how the charm of a traditional Lakeland slate barn can blend so effortlessly with 21st century luxury accommodation. This is a place to relax, rejuvenate and spend precious time together. A short drive or beautiful walk will lead you into either the village of Ambleside or a little further passing Rydal Water into Grasmere. Grasmere itself is stocked with great eateries, tea rooms and shops and if you like picturesque high and low level walks, this is a walker's paradise. Enchanting 'Hart Head Barn' has all the ingredients to provide the perfect Lake District holiday, one you will only want to repeat and with a view you will never forget. == Accommodation in detail Park right outside this magnificent barn and enter round the back where there is a beautiful patio garden (non-lawned) complete with a luxury hot tub and contemporary rattan furniture. Adjacent to the door is a useful boot room with washer/dryer and heater, perfect for drying wet coats and boots. Enter on the first floor with hallway and access into the superb living room, gaze at the wonderful view and relax in sumptuous furnishings by the warming open fire. The stunning kitchen / dining area has all you would wish for and two sets of patio doors, one leading onto a viewing balcony to gaze towards the lake. On this level is a luxurious shower room and then downstairs to the three gorgeous bedrooms, one king size, with luxurious Villeroy & Boch en-suite together with french windows to a private couple's patio. There is a luxury Superking size bed in the second bedroom, which is a zip and link offering the option of twin beds. There is a twin bedroom and the third bathroom facility is also located on this floor. Location This secluded retreat is located in an enviable position next door to Rydal Mount, the home of William Wordsworth until his death in 1850. The poet's favourite viewpoint can be reached on the western end of nearby Rydal Water, and the tranquil surroundings are truly inspirational - not just to writers! This is a superb property for walking from the door step and forgetting the car. The property is situated on the picturesque Rydal/Grasmere circuit walk and at the foot of the well known Fairfield Horseshoe. Mountain bikers and cyclists will envy this superb location as there are some of the best challenges in the British Isles on your doorstep. The location is also only a short distance from the vibrant village of Ambleside. Here you'll find an interesting range of local shops, tempting delicatessens, traditional Lakeland pubs and top-class restaurants - even a cinema and live music bar. Lake Windermere can also be enjoyed from Waterhead Pier, where ferries depart regularly to Bowness and Lakeside.

About the location

RYDAL

Ambleside 1.6 miles; Grasmere 2.7 miles.

Lying to the north of Ambleside and Windermere, Rydal is a charming unspoilt village full of history and which has changed little in the last two hundred years. Rydal Water with its shoreline walks adds an extra tranquillity to the location, which is one of the central most points of the Lake District. Home to William Wordsworth for some years there are many walks spreading out from Rydal with spectacular views. Wander along hillside paths to Grasmere, or up the impressive Rydal Fell and Nab Scar with fantastic scenery spanning as far as the hills on the west coast on a clear day. Or stroll through Rydal Park with its ancient and magnificent trees, past the thunderous waterfalls, revered by Wordsworth, and on to Ambleside with its numerous shops, restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes. Only a short drive away is Windermere with its water sports and boat cruises on Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake.

Please note this property has a zip link bed. This will be made as a Superking by default. Please contact the call center should you wish it to be a Twin.
