Rose Cottage

We had a lovely stay at Rose Cottage.

It was warm, cosy and well equipped. It was situated in an ideal location for visiting Kendal, Windermere and Bowness. It had a lovely outlook at the back, over the fields and river. The only downside was the ongoing drainage works at the back of the property, although this did not spoil our stay.

We/ve stayed twice and find it so warm, cosy and convenient.

We have had problem with keysafe - but, may be user error.

We enjoyed staying in this lovely little cottage - more spacious than plenty of 2 bed ones we've stayed in in the past!

Warm and kept very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, and we enjoyed the chocolate left for us after a long car journey! The excellent transport links to Windemere by train, and then on into the lakes by bus, were a real bonus. The local pub and shop are basic, there's also a little chippy (cash only).

Rose Cottage is fabulous.

An ideal hideaway cottage that's lovingly cared for. The welcome pack was very welcome by the time we got there via public transport. The village is lovely. My only concern is the lack of fencing on the river. As a sight impaired person I kept well clear. I definitely recommend for anyone needing a bit of respite.

Lovely place to stay and ideally located close to station for train to Windermere for buses further afield.

Cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Local shop and chippy just a short walk away. Nice to watch river flowing by outside the door.

Wonderful cottage, had everything we needed, loved the e tras like milk, teabags coffee and chocolate.

This was a lovely cottage it had everything we needed.

The extra of milk, chocolate, tea bags and coffee bags were welcomed. It was warm and cosy. The views were perfect.

Very clean cottage.

Well equipped. Nice to have seating that is supportive. Nice touch the night light at the top of the stairs. Overall, an enjoyable few days.

The property was excellent, the only drawback was no Radio, as we are not great television watchers.

This lovely cottage was in the perfect location for us to visit family in Kendal, Windermere and Bowness.

It was beautifully clean and the facilities were perfect for my husband and myself. I would high recommend this cottage.

This was a very well equipped holiday cottage and we had everything we needed. The furniture was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. No faults at all.

Well equipped kitchen washer/dryer dishwasher.

Lots utensils etc. Ideal short break for a couple. Front door opens straight into living room maybe curtain over the door . Otherwise cosy warm cottage. Perfect for South lakes. Carpets are old fashioned but look past decor ticks lots boxes

Beautiful immaculately clean cottage.

Everything you could want really, Loved it and would stay there again.

This is an excellent property because of the standards of cleanliness, naintenance and equipment.

Car access is quite good and parking is directly outside the rear of the house. Though the local village (really a Kendal suburb) is somewhat run down and the single shop in the immediate vicinity is very limited, the location is excellent for Kendal, Windermere and the A6 to the north Lakes. Highly recommended.

The cottage had everything we needed.

It was part long weekend, part working weekend so we didn’t have any major requirements other than a place to sleep. Convenient train links to neighbouring towns. Taxis from Windermere a touch on the pricey side. (£30+) The pub in the village was advertised as open at times when it wasn’t actually opened (lunch times). The fish and chip shop is pretty good, but be mindful there are no cash points in the village. Overall really nice village and a pleasant cottage. I wasn’t here for walking on this occasion but this would be a great base for walking and i’d consider it for the future.

The cottage was beautiful the view over the river and fields was stunning.

The only downfall was with our car parked outside the door there was nowhere to put the table and chairs as shown in the listing, so we couldn't sit outside.

We had a very enjoyable stay in this delightful cottage.

It was spotlessly clean and i don’t think i’ve stayed anywhere that has been so well equipped i challenge anyone to say there was something they needed that wasn’t there. I always take my own cleaning things so i can leave the property as i’ve found it ( because normally you only get the very bear minimum) but there was absolutely everything thing needed already there. ) i would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone and we will certainly be returning. It is also in an ideal location for all the lovely towns and villages surrounding the lake district. We certainly give the cottage 10 out of 10. Thankyou.

Very well equipped cottage, everything was there!

We only missed information about where to leave the garbage, empty bottles, etc. Furthermore, apart from the weather we had a wonderful week.

Lovely and very clean with more than enough living, cooking, dining provisions.

An excellent kitchen/ dining room. Nice touch of worm hospitality with milk + local sweet bars provided. There was coffee and tea too but we had our own. Very good location to get to town + Lake District tourist hot spots. Our only small complain is about sheets and duvet covers to be of pure cotton rather than mixture of polyester and cotton, as they felt uncomfortable specially during warm nights. However, you could always take yours.

A wonderful cottage with all the comforts of home.
