The cottage was lovely as was the settkng.

There were several plumbing problems - bath , shower, kitchen sink, washing machine. I also had an urgent issue that I needed sorting. Despite contacting both sykes and the owner, no response after almost 2 weeks. It was also very difficult to find a customer help email post-holiday after spending ages going through 'frequently asked questions on the website.

Fantastic stay and the perfect base for Scafell Pike!

William Cottage was wonderful. It’s a great property in a lovely surrounding area, making it the perfect base of operations for climbing Scafell Pike. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. While there was a tiny bit of expected wear and tear, it didn't detract from the experience at all. If I had to make one constructive suggestion, it would be adding blackout curtains to the bedrooms. The outside lights are quite bright—though after a long day of hiking, I was far too tired for it to bother me much! Having Irton Hall right on the doorstep was a massive bonus. The staff there were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. I would stay here again.

It was a great cottage that enabled us to have a great holiday.

It was comfortable and a great site with nice animals too. There was one issue with the door handle mechanism not working on the front room door but other than that everything was great.
