Enjoying a peaceful position within the English county of Cumbria is Cleator Moor, a small town resting just a few miles away from Whitehaven and the coastline. The town plays host to a number of amenities, including a handful of pubs, shops and other small businesses, as well as a Mart Square, where there are three sculptures by Conrad Atkinson, a local artist of international repute. Here, you will also find part of the West Cumbria Cycle Network, which form a portion of the C2C Cycle Route, from Whitehaven to Sunderland. Those with two-wheels can look forward to meandering along the route of the old Whitehaven, Cleator and Egremont and Rowrah and Kelton Fell Railways, which were once very active in the 1850s.
