“This is the second time we have stayed at river walk property.”

Once again we had a comfortable stay,it's a bonus having a car parking space in the centre of Kendal.

The property

River Walk is a beautiful first-floor apartment in the heart of Kendal, Cumbria.

River Walk is an excellent choice for two people or a family of four thanks to its convenient position just outside the Lake District National Park and its proximity to the River Kent and to nearby shops and restaurants.

Step into the bright open-plan living area, where you can whip up a dinner in the well-appointed kitchen and then relax with a delicious meal and a glass of wine at the four-seat dining table.

Once dinner is over, retire to the plush seating and unwind in front of your favourite show on the Smart TV.

There are two inviting double bedrooms, one of which has a TV, and a sleek shower room where can freshen up after a fun-filled day of sight-seeing.

You can take a stroll along the River Kent, check out Kendal Museum, have a blast at the Kendal Snowsports Club, learn something new at the Quaker Tapestry Museum, practise your swing at the excellent Kendal Golf Club, or treat your loved ones to a meal at one of the town's many excellent restaurants like Sapore, Bangkok 7 Thai, or Farmhouse Kitchen.

Windermere can be found just a short drive away, where you can enjoy a variety of watersports on the lake, take in the scenery from vantage points like Queen Adelaide's Hill and Orrest Head, and explore the popular World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.

Foodies can satisfy their cravings at nearby Bowness-on-Windermere, where restaurants like HRiSHi, Gilpin Spice, and Henrock have earned Michelin Stars.

Ambleside, with its spectacular Stock Ghyll Force and Roman fort from the 2nd century, and Grasmere, where William Wordsworth once lived, are both worth the trip.

River Walk promises an unforgettable stay in Cumbria.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

About the location

KENDAL

Windermere 8 miles.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond.
