Had a great stay at 2 Eden Lodge.

The location to the town and walks is brilliant. We arrived and found the cottage spotlessly clean, its very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen has everything you require, very much a home from home. Would definitely go back. Thank you

We loved our time at Eden lodge.

It is very well provisioned and a good size. The apartment was very clean and easy to live in- although if like us you are a little older, the sofa was a little difficult to get out The welcome basket was a nice touch. An ice cube tray would have been useful in the heat. Eden Lodge is perfectly placed with access to both countryside and the village within a 2 minute walk.

We chose Eden lodge as it was dog friendly, accommodation was excellent exactly as described, very spacious, clean and in a quiet location.

Well equipped kitchen with everything needed to cater for yourself. A 1 minute walk takes you into town. Walks straight from door along the picturesque River Eden. Would definitely book again it was perfect for us. Perhaps some coat hooks near back door as we missed having somewhere to hang our everyday hiking coats - boot tray great

We had an amazing week at this cottage.

So close to the coast to coast path and several lovely takeaways. We had everything we needed and it was a very comfortable stay. The welcome biscuits were also a really nice touch. We would definitely stay here again !!!

This was our second stay and love this accommodation , the position of the property is second to none.

I have a couple of minor niggles, I am now 74 years of age and found the shower cubicle very slippy and no safety grab handles, not everyone who stays here will have my mobility issues, but some will. Finally, the bedroom is crying out for a t v on the wall. Very pleasurable stay.

Lovely well equipped comfy cottage in a good location very close to the town(walking distance).

Plenty places to eat, drink or have takeaway. Location is ideal for visiting the dales, the lakes and North pennines. Would definitely recommend it.

The reason we booked this apartment was because it is listed as an easy walk to the town, and it really is.

Just out of the door and up the lane and you are in Market Square in about 2 minutes. Also, it is right beside the river for some lovely walks & duck feeding! Duck food is available in the petshop on the way to the square. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay, although, as other reviewers have said, the settee is very difficult to extract yourself from if you are not very athletic!

My dogs and I had a wonderful time!

Eden Lodge was perfect for us and it was cosy and warm. We used it more as a base and didn't really do any walks around Kirkby Stephen itself. It's only down side was I couldn't get the dishwasher working so some instructions would be handy or was it broken? The walls are thin so could hear the people above me talking and walking about and the fridge freezer noisy at night! But as I said we did have an amazing time!

This is a clever conversion of an old property into spacious accommodation for two.

The living/ kitchen area is divided by an island which is both attractive and useful. It is right on the coast to coast path and so ideal for walkers, (more likely customers here than romantics, I think!) . It has a nicely equipped kitchen and a great shower. It would be even better with a coat rack for outdoor jackets (if the walls can take one) and we would have liked some egg cups. But overall it was great and liaison with the owner excellent.

A well-appointed apartment and conveniently situated for the Dales and Lake District.

A pleasant walk alongside the river Eden is no more than 20 meteres away and the town centre in also an easy walk away. The owner seems very nice and responded quickly to my phone messages. The only complaint I really have is the uncomfortable sofa. The distance between the front and the back makes it impossible to sit on. It's really designed to tuck your feet under you and curl up on it, but if you are not so flexible, that is also uncomfortable. Overall, though, an excellent time was had.

We didn't realise at first entrance was on the rear of property.

The settee was a bit low for the wife who struggled to get up as she has severe osteo arthritis. We did enjoy our stay and this was the only minor niggle. Every thing else was great nice short walk to the river we may come again.

The apartment was in an ideal position for walking the dog, plus it was very close to the town centre.

We found the sofa to be uncomfortable as it was too low and wasn't easy to get up, but maybe that's due to our age! The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was great! One little niggle was the lack of coat hooks near the door. I also think a clock on the wall would be helpful. All in all we had a great time, and would recommend 2 Eden Lodge.

Comfortable property in a pleasant location in Kirkby Stephen.

We enjoyed our stay, it was great to be able to just nip round the corner and be at the river and the start of several walks. The benches in this area provide a lovely outdoor option if the weather behaves! The property is well maintained and decently equipped (everything we needed for a couple of meals in) with the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen all fine. The walking options (3-5 miles) from the door are excellent with the disused railway and river paths providing really enjoyable circular routes. Longer routes take a little more planing and will often require a different start point. Kirkby Stephen has a good range of shops including a larger Co-op along with good coffee shops and decent pubs, most offering "pub grub" menus. We ate twice at the Black Horse in Nateby for a wider menu choice, this is walkable from Kirkby Stephen on good footpaths. We weren't the biggest fans of the sofa, sinking so far in it was a major decision to get up again and not finding it the most comfortable, but would have no hesitation in recommending this property and we will definitely consider a return.

Overall, a good property in a good quiet location, and a host who responds quickly to queries.

We chose it because one of us uses a mobility scooter and it is well suited (one low step from the path) - however the shower has no grab rail so they felt unable to use it. The sofa is awkwardly low and a couple of reading lamps would help as the living area is dark in the evenings. The kitchen area is well equipped, but a couple more mugs and knives would help - that way the dishwasher needn't be run half-full!

Excellent cottage for two people of any age, very convenient central location in a friendly charming market town.

The cottage has everything you need including Wifi and Smart TV. plenty of lovely walks near by without the need to get the car out, but also on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales national Parks, the Lakes are an easy drive away, as is the railway station to Settle or Carlisle. If you don't feel the need to use the cottages more than adequate cooking facilities there are plenty of decent foodie pubs and takeaways within walking distance. Katie the owner is very helpful and quick to respond to any questions you may have. We did not experience any noise from our neighbours. Parking is reserved and adjacent to the property a bit tight for larger cars but manageable with care. Loved the place.

We had a fantastic week based at 2 Eden Lodge.

The location of the cottage in the village was great. Everything was very clean, modern, spacious and comfortable, especially the bed. We ate in most nights and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The owner was easy to contact. We would recommend this property and would love to return.

It was beautiful, my little dog settled in quite nicely.

Lovely walking place less than 2 minutes from the lodge. Shops a couple of minutes away, great little bakery , I can recommend their rolls. All made fresh to order. We had a fantastic stay even the weather was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend this little lodge to anyone, it has everything that one needs including a lovely comfy bed and the hostess is only a phone call away not that we needed her as she thought of everything.

The apartment is lovely, ideal location with everything you would need for your stay.

It was perfect for our week in Cumbria but would be also great for shorter stays too. Within 30 seconds walk of the River and within an hours drive of the Lakes, the Dales and other perfect locations. Certainly would go again!

This property was lovely.

It was well equipped, crisp white sheets and a lovely bathroom. It was in a lovely area with Frank’s bridge on the doorstep which led to lovely walks. The welcome pack was a nice touch. We took a beer and a wine and sat on the bench by the river and watched the world go by. Value for money. The only issue we had was we were not sure what to do with our recycling regarding which day to put it out.

As always excellent.

Place is perfect and nothing is too much trouble for the owners. We will definitely be back asap.

We experienced night time noise from the upstairs flat but no disturbance in the daytime which was unsettling.

The flat was immaculate and we very much enjoyed our stay, apart from the weather which can't be helped. We would highly recommend this property to future holiday makers.

Second time in one of these lodges and both brilliant.

We booked the flat literally at the last minute.

But Katie quickly got the flat ready for us and let us know when it was ready. The instructions for accessing the property were clear. But the flat is tucked away. So, if you can’t find the property, it’s at the bottom of Mellbecks at Frank’s Bridge (ask a local). The flat was lovely and warm. The living area comprises of a large and very well-equipped kitchen area, separated from the large and very well-furnished lounge area by a large and very useful kitchen island. The lounge area had a two-person dining table which could seat four people, a large coffee table, a good-sized TV sitting on a sturdy TV unit, and a big, comfortable couch. The toilet/shower room was also a good size with a powerful rainfall shower. The bedroom was a good size too with a built-in wardrobe, bedside cabinets complete with bedside lamps, and dressing table. All of the furniture was of a surprisingly high quality for a rental property. The property was very clean and well-decorated throughout. There is an allocated parking space immediately below the flat, which for us was perfect, as we like to keep an eye on our car. We stayed there for three nights and slept soundly each night. The flat is located approximately a three-minute walk from Market Square and the main road through Kirkby Stephen. We went there because of a classic transport event. The main street was full of vehicles of all shapes and sizes. But because of where the flat is located, we couldn’t hear any noise whatsoever from the main road. Would we stay there again? Absolutely.

Very spacious. We found the sofa too low for us, but it was fun trying to get out of it. Kitchen utensils - I would prefer plastic rather than metal.

Fabulous stay in Kirkby Stephen at 2 Eden Lodge.

The apartment was spotless, minutes from the town centre and shops, cafes’ and pubs, restaurants. Biscuits, coffee and tea bags plus other goodies were waiting for us on arrival. An information folder provided information for things to do and places to go which we found useful, the Mango Tree Indian restaurant is great, although they don’t do deserts. Would definitely recommend and return.

Everything was as advertised and it provided everything you need for a comfortable stay . Lovely furnishings and fixtures it was a true home from home . Location was perfect for us and our dog as you have the river Eden right on your doorstep and lots of lovely walks right over the bridge . 10/10

Lovely flat in a great location.

Many walks straight from the doorstep and easy access to the Dales, the Lakes and the Howgill Fells. 2 minute walk into the market place and plenty of choices for food and drink. Great facilities in the flat although it would have been good to have a few coat hooks by the entrance to hang up wet walking gear.

Eden Lodge is well positioned for the town and river.

Benefits from a safe parking place. The accommodation is well equipped with all you need for your holiday. We were well pleased with the welcome hamper which we enjoyed. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to people. If you have mobility issues the steps from the car park to the entrance will be an issue though.

Excellent standard of property.

Impressed with 2 things never experienced in my life of holiday rentals! Sharp knives and a decent set of pans. Comfy bed, perfectly equipped and a very helpful owner on hand should we need help with anything. I have nothing to criticise. Excellent in every way.

I spent two consecutive weeks at this cottage and absolutely loved it.

So much so I can’t wait to go back again. It was a perfect base for exploring Cumbria , The Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. The local area is so lovely with all the amenities one could possibly need; from cake to wine and in between. The cottage was so comfortable and cosy and had everything you could need. I was exceptionally impressed that it had both a dishwasher and a full size fridge/freezer. I would highly recommend visiting Eden Lodge.

Lovely location. Well equipped. Very clean and comfortable. Fabulous welcome basket and very helpful host. Great base for walking and exploring at any time of year.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable and ideal for our 2 night mini- break.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was the best I have had in a holiday let. It was located in a lovely spot with great walks direct from the door. The surrounding countryside was lovely.

booked this for my elderly parent's and it was perfect for them, no stairs was a bonus perfectly clean and well equipped only one improvement could be made and that is the need for a grab rail in the shower, for the safety of the elderly and disabled.

Great facilities - amazing shower very powerful, well equipped kitchen, welcome pack was really appreciated, good signal on tesco mobile even with the bad weather (storm eunice).

The area is lovely and quiet despite being very short walk to the town centre, which has a variety of shops takeaways etc. Will definitely recommend.

The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable internally and the host was very helpful and accommodating The area is stunning with lots of wonderful walks from the doorstep The downside was there was barely any phone signal and no WiFi as a solo elderly traveller I found this unsettling knowing I couldn't contact anyone in an emergency The property also opens onto a very dark alleyway and although very quiet I feel the motion sensor light would be best replaced with an outside light for safety reasons you had to step out into the dark to activate this I booked for a week but stayed only 4 nights because of these issues

Great stay at comfy cosy property.

Well equipped. Fabulous location, less than 5 minutes walk to Town centre for pubs and restaurants. Coast2Coast path literally on the door step, Lots of local walks without moving the car. 40 minutes drive to lakes. Ideal base. Lovely welcome pack. Very helpful. Friendly locals. Can’t fault this. Would definitely recommend.

the accomodation was purfect for what we wanted.to go to parts of the lakes we have not been to in the past.the only downside was noisy neighbours walking past our property say at 6.30 in the morning walking there dogs.it seemed some days the whole street must have walked past.and with the windows being open because of the heat we were continually being woken up by yapping dogs.i know there is nothing that can be done about this it is just anoying when you are on holiday and we thought it looked a nice quiet area when we first arrived.never mind we can always hope for better at the end of sept when our next break arrives.

The cottage is finished to a really high quality and kept very clean.

It is in a very good location with easy access to shops, pubs, restaurants and take aways.

The property was spotless, comfortable and in a perfect location to go exploring.

It was the perfect size for the two of us. The added touch of some homemade cakes and welcome basket were really appreciated. Would not hesitate to recommend and look forward to hopefully returning in the future.

The location was ideal, just a minutes walk to the shops etc... The flat was very comfortable and well equipped, lovely views over the bridge. Lovely walks from the doorstep. We will definitely be returning!

Just a couple of little things which would have made the stay more home from home - a mirror in the bedroom - it’s difficult to blow dry your hair without one!

A shelf over or just next to the sink in the bathroom as no where to put toothbrushes, contact lenses etc. Other than that it is a fabulous lodge and would recommend.

The flat was really welcoming and modern in a lovely old building in the heart of historic Kirkby Stephen.

We loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

Ideal location for shops, take outs, pubs and Riverside walks. There was a lovely surprise welcome hamper to tuck into on our arrival and a bottle of milk in the fridge was unexpected and welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for our host. I would certainly recommend this accommodation and would certainly book again next year.

This is a lovely apartment for a couple, located in the small market town of Kirby Stephen, an excellent base from which to explore this peaceful area of the North Pennines.

The apartment is in a historic building but inside is modern and comfortable with well planned facilities. The kitchen/living area is well equipped for cooking, eating and relaxing. The bed is comfortable and the area is quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. The owners are helpful and local. We felt very welcome. The apartment is close to the town centre, which has good facilities; pubs, cafes, takeaways, shops and a supermarket. It is also next to Frank's Bridge, a peaceful area by the river and a starting point for several walks.
