Lovely cottage,very conformtable and all needs thought of.

Would definitely stay again.

Excellent property with everything in good order.

Only problem we had was the noise from the road meant we had to keep the upstairs windows closed more than we would have liked. But that's obviously not the fault of the owners!

This lovely property was exactly what we required for our stay.

The interior was furnished to a very high standard, extremely clean and comfortable. The location is ideal, it’s a very short walk to all the amenities, and the parking was really useful.

A nice place but could be better.

On arrival, there was broken glass all over the drive. It’s missing small touches such as sugar, coffee, tea (dishwasher tablets were stated but not there). The location is good and there are some great micro pubs. The front room and kitchen are a good size and comfy. Biggest issue was the dirty bedding (which was later confirmed not to have been changed by the cleaner since the previous guests). All the radiators were on the frost setting on arrival when outside temperatures were very cold leaving the cottage cold for a few hours after arrival. We did get to a resolution with the bedding being changed the following day. We had to fight for a refund for our first night but resolution was mostly due to Sykes stepping in after a rude response from the owner (delivered via Sykes). For these reasons we would not return.

Such a lovely cosy, warm, comfortable home. Great location with loads of walks, pubs, cafes, shops etc on your doorstep. We hope to return again soon!

The accommodation was very comfortable and cosy unfortunately we had to leave early due to family illness.

two wee gripes, no hand soap in bathroom/toilet or oven glove/towel in kitchen.

So cosy and comfortable with everything needed for your holiday. Close to the High Street and all its amenities. Lots of coffee shops and wonderful pubs. Own parking space a bonus. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Spacious property.

Appreciated storage space in kitchen and bedrooms. Well maintained and kept clean on the whole - I comfortably walked around barefoot - nicer carpets than my own! Would like to see some small changes - nice to have hooks on the back of the doors in the bathroom and bedrooms, missed not being able to use a grater in the kitchen and a clothes horse would be useful for drying clothes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it wasn't long enough; and we loved the accommodation and proximity to the the town.

Everything was immaculate and with a cosy atmosphere, with everything provided to make our stay even better. Shops and bars a short walk away. We had never been to Kirkby Stephen before but it is a lovely village. Beautiful countryside for walking. There seemed to be things going on everyday at the cattle market opposite but these didn't disturb us at all. We will certainly come back the next time we are in the area.

I wouldn’t say it’s private parking for 2 cars as we only managed to get our Mondeo in.

Glad though it did have private parking. A contact number for owners would have been good in the book as I found a car key in the cupboard when putting my groceries away. I did phone Sykes but got no answer so left it on the table with a note. Loved the amount of cupboards and big fridge freezer as you don’t want to constantly have to go to the shops so I give the kitchen a big 5 stars alone. We thought it was going to be really noisy with cattle market opposite but it wasn’t that bad.

We had a fabulous week at Larimar.

It was so warm and homely. Clean, fresh and comfortable. Loved the scent in the living room! Slept really well. Also loved the jacuzzi bath and the sofas were so comfy! We stay in Kirkby Stephen every year and will definitely stay again. Although it's opposite the Auction Mart, it didn't bother us on the busy days. Great base for exploring. We will be back! The cottage was well equipped with comfy beds (we slept well) and there was a much appreciated, welcome pack of biscuits and milk.

However it was not as described in the listing at the time of booking. Described as non-smoking with a TV in each bedroom. When we arrived there was an overwhelming stench of cigarettes coming from the living room. It was so bad that we had to buy air fresheners to try and mask the smell during our stay but even they weren't good enough. Also, there was only one TV in one bedroom (The listing has been amended since we complained to Sykes.) We would have chosen a different cottage if this one had been described correctly. Minor problems which the host needs to sort with their cleaners. There was a light coating of dust on all the window sills and there were cobwebs high up in most rooms but especially bad in the bathroom where there were also three spiders. After our first showers we noticed the water wasn't draining away so we pulled the plug to find a foot long tangle of hair and grease which we removed. There was also breadcrumbs in the knife and fork drawer. The main parts of the property were very clean in every other respect. With a little more attention to the details and the removal of cigarette stench this property would be great for any family.

We had a great stay here, it was comfortable and clean and well equipped.

A great base for our holiday, and very near the town center which was convinient. Will definitely be reccomending this place in the future!

We have stayed in a few cottages in the area booked through Sykes and although this is a lovely cottage in a very good location there were a couple of problems we had.

Firstly, the living room and main bedroom stank of cigarettes, even though it’s a no smoking property. We have just got home and the smell is still lingering on all our clothes and luggage. Secondly, I think the mattress in the main bedroom was beyond repair, as we sunk to almost the bedframe. Luckily we had the second bedroom to use instead, but this wouldn’t have been possible if we were a larger group.

Very good position - few minutes from main road - either of two alleyways get you there.

Faraday Road can be busy with livestock transporters (Mart opposite) but not very often. Some of power points well hidden and could be difficult to use Loads of storage space - had to come back after we had left to get a container we left is a kitchen cupboard .

Property is very well equipped, clean and homely a good base for exploring the surrounding area.

Would highly recommend.

Lovely clean modern property, fully equipped kitchen with 2 large bedrooms and a spacious bathroom.

The lounge is extremely comfortable with a good sized tv. Ideally located for local amenities and convenient walks from the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

Everything was clean and comfortable and in a handy position for shops and eateries. The only disadvantage is there is no garden area. However, there is parking for 2 cars which is a bonus.
