Grange-over-Sands 2 miles. Perched in a lovely position, overlooking the charming Cumbrian village of Lindale, is Mount Pleasant Cottage, a semi-detached dwelling ideal for a couple or small family of three wanting a peaceful village getaway and the opportunity to explore the South Lakeland region of the Lake District National Park. Ample parking can be found on the quiet street close to the cottage, while the side entrance welcomes you into an open-plan living space, boasting a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, separated from the sitting room by a breakfast bar area, giving you plenty of choice when it comes to sitting down together to enjoy home-cooked meals. Kick back on the sofa or spacious armchair for a night of family board games, a film on the Freeview TV, or a quiet evening unwinding with a good book. As the evening draws to a close, make your way upstairs to discover a nicely finished double bedroom, overlooking the quaint village from its dual aspect windows, while the single bedroom offers the perfect sleeping space for a child or an additional guest. Both rooms share access to a family bathroom suite, offering a bath with shower over, so you can choose how best to prepare for each day. Explore your surroundings and discover the popular village pub, The Royal Oak, just a short walk from the property, which serves food and drinks, should you wish to take a night off from cooking and treat yourselves. Only 3 miles away is the beautiful Lake Windermere, enjoy a picnic by the lake at Fell Foot Park and Gardens or up to the view point at Gummers How. Venture into Grange-over-Sands, just two miles away, to find a selection of shops and eateries, as well as a delightful promenade, boasting views of Morecambe Bay, as well as the Ornamental Gardens, which provide an idyllic backdrop to an afternoon stroll, a popular golf club and plenty of opportunities for bird watching. Slightly further afield, the village of Cartmel boasts the award-winning restaurant L'Enclume, voted one of the best in the UK, and perfect for a special occasion, as well as being within easy reach of Holker Hall & Gardens, which offers 200 acres of garden and woodlands to discover, as well as a deer park. Bowness-on-Windermere village is nearby; home to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and providing access to the largest of the Lake District's lakes, Windermere, where you can explore by boat or try your hand at a range of watersports activities. Walkers and wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy discovering Arnside & Silverdale AONB, as well as taking on a coastal walk while enjoying the views cross Morecambe Bay. Lindale, a small village situated in the south of The Lake District National Park, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and just a few miles from Lake Windermere, makes the area a perfect holiday destination. Set amidst the charm of The Southern Lakes, this attractive village, with handy gastropub, The Royal Oak, makes an inspiring choice from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area. Just a few minutes drive brings you to Cartmel, a delightful village to wander around, famed for its delicious sticky toffee pudding, 12th century priory, National Hunt race meetings and gourmet restaurants. You could also visit Grange-over-Sands, a charming seaside Edwardian town. Take a stroll on the promenade and return through the quaint narrow streets with some lovely tea rooms and specialist shops including a bakery, chocolatiers, and award winning butchers. The Lake District has so much to offer, there is sailing on Windermere, cycling in The Grizedale Forest, Go Ape Treetop adventures, Birdwatching at Leighton Moss and The Foulshaw Osprey Experience. There are also stately homes at Holker Hall, Levens Hall and Sizergh Castle and a heritage steam railway which runs from Haverthwaite to Lakeside. The Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Beauty is also a short journey away. But leaving the best till last, walking or touring in the fabulous Lake District, with its fells, lakes and tarns is an absolute must, most of which is just a short drive or walk away.
