    “Nice property, stairs quite tight for getting luggage up and down and would say would not suit the more elderly.”

    Good location as a base for all the lakes but not a place if you do not have transport. Tight entrance to the property if you have a large vehicle. We brought all we needed and took heed from previous feedback but there was everything we needed. Short stay but enjoyed our visit.

The property

The Hayloft is part of a beautiful traditional Lakeland stone barn conversion, with slate flagstone floors and original beams, nestled within an award winning development in the South Lakes village of Lindale, a perfect place to cast aside the stresses of everyday life and unwind.

Set within the magnificent Lake District National Park, only 5 miles from Lake Windermere, and close to The South Cumbrian Coast, The Hayloft boasts heartwarming modern accomodation, a perfect "home away from home" ideal for couples, families and small groups to enjoy.

Pass through the gated courtyard and enter the spacious slate floored hallway and into the sumptuous kitchen/diner which also features slate flagstone floor, beams and contemporary units, with an extensive selection of first class appliances, for all your culinary needs.

On the first floor you will find the comfortable homely sitting room, again with beamed ceiling plus feature fireplace with electric woodburner type stove, ideal for heat on those cooler evenings, together with TV, DVD player, books, games and tourist information.

The sitting room gives access onto the south facing balcony, perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine on those sunny summer evenings.

Also on the first floor is the sizeable and stylish contemporary bathroom, featuring a smart white suite with shower over the bath, plus light and shaver point over the washbasin.The Hayloft lies on three floors, the upper level presents you with two immaculate bedrooms, both with original feature beams; a spacious master, south facing, with stylish oak furniture and a comfortable large double bed and a twin room with views across the village providing a pleasing sight to wake up to.

Lindale, a small village situated in the south of The Lake District National Park, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and just a few miles from Lake Windermere, makes the area a perfect holiday destination.

Set amidst the charm of The Southern Lakes, this attractive village, with handy gastropub, The Royal Oak, makes an inspiring choice from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.

Just a few minutes drive from The Hayloft, brings you to Cartmel, a delightful village to wander around, famed for its delicious sticky toffee pudding, 12th century priory, National Hunt race meetings and gourmet restaurants.

You could also visit Grange-over-Sands, a charming seaside Edwardian town.

Take a stroll on the promenade and return through the quaint narrow streets with some lovely tea rooms and specialist shops including a bakery, chocolatiers, and award winning butchers.

But leaving the best till last, walking or touring in the fabulous Lake District, with its fells, lakes and tarns is an absolute must, most of which is just a short drive or walk from The Hayloft.
