    “Fantastic place to stay every thing you would ever need they supply.”

    Beautiful surroundings full of wildlife saw deer pass by and the ducks were so friendly. Could do with more comfortable sofas but that usually wouldn't bother us as if the weather was better we would have been out exploring the area.

The immediate area of the property is a true idyll, with miles of unspoilt land to explore with a plethora of nature to be discovered, it's a wonderful position for the wildlife lover. A short car journey will bring you to the centre of the town where you can find eateries of all kinds, shops galore, and various family-friendly attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Windermere Jetty, Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories, The Old Laundry Theatre and plenty of watersporting opportunities on its scenic Lake Windermere, there's something for everyone here. Slightly further afield is Kendal, boasting the ruins of a 13th-century castle the Kendal Museum, a farmer's market on the last Friday of each month and various leisure facilities, it's well-worth a visit. Windermere Train Station 1.5 miles: Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Old Laundry theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is less than two miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away. There are also a variety of watersports on offer for the more energetic at marine centres along the lake.
