    “It was an absolute fantastic stay!”

    The house is beautiful and everything is very well looked after and maintained. The house has such a warm and cozy feeling to it! The garden and the view to the lake a gorgeous! We loved every minute in the house and hope to be back in the future.

The writer of this would instinctively plump for this room - expect some debate!! The shared lawned gardens are delightful around 3/4 of an acre, with superb views from the terrace inviting guests to enjoy al-fresco living or maybe for just a glass or two in the evening sunshine.

Location This unique self-catering property offers easy access to the lake shore, and also the popular villages of Windermere and Bowness.

Windermere village centre is just a five minute walk away, ideal for stocking up the kitchen; there you'll find a large Booths supermarket well stocked with the best local produce as well as everyday essentials.

The High Street has a traditional butcher, several restaurants and cafes together with pubs serving real Lakeland ale.

Bowness village is a busier tourist destination, just a couple of miles away.

The village revolves around the boating activity of Bowness Bay, where hire boats come and go and Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside - explore without a car!

Windermere Golf Club is located just outside Bowness.

Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
